What is everyone's cat up to today?

Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and my cat Freya is communing with the baby. Mainly purring and gentle pawing in response to little kicks. I am hoping they'll be friends! Meanwhile Maisie is looking on disdainfully. She's in the huff because I tipped her out of the pregnancy dungarees, which she had commandeered as her personal nest.

What are your furry overlords all up to?

Weeds, that is hysterical! Just how?? How did he know you were there? So clever. What happened to the poor mouse?

He keeps a very close eye on my movements when I'm at home and follows me around. All gardens in the area are his territory, so he's more than familiar with theirs!
The mouse didn't survive, he tends to panic and kill them immediately if anybody makes "take it off him" noises.... there was quite a lot of shrieking from the non-cat owners present...

It reminds of one New Years Day...we had quite a few people round who stayed over. Our cat decided to bring a mouse onto the patio where he kept dropping it into a bowl of water, fishing it out, playing with it, repeat. Much to the anguish of gathered hungover guests

Despite our cats only getting access to the outdoors in their catio pen thing (the squirrels taunt them from the roof...), the other night I heard the catflap crashing then a squeaking noise and went out into the hall to find them both chasing a wee mouse around! Literally no idea how they caught it, must have been a particularly dim specimen not to escape from them through the bars!

He was pleased as punch with himself! Made a change from olives and peanuts when it came to snacks, I suppose, although his efforts weren't applauded as I thought they should be

weeds - brilliant story - I'm sure he just thought he shouldn't turn up to a party empty handed (empty-pawed?).

Mr Cooper went out for his usual patrol of his territory. Came in soaking wet from the rain, had his breakfast (cooked turkey), had a wash, and has settled down for the main sleep.... until later, when he'll repeat it all.

Ive just seen Ern walking along the fence at the back, DS said he sat on top of the bird box for a while.

Have a lovely snooze Mr Cooper. I'll just be cleaning all day.

Mine's just hopped into bed after a morning twitching in the garden. Thankfully, there were no casualties of the feathered kind

The buffet gets dropped at their feet, it runs she flips it in the air a few times, and then the screams start. Not from the bird/mouse but from 5 18/19yr olds

You must be due baby "caora" soon! I hope the summer hasn't been too uncomfortable.

It's been a bit of a nightmare but thankfully respite with all the rain recently. Due at the start of October, eek! Trying not to let the cats make themselves TOO at home in the nursery....

Last month I did find myself in a pregnant-lady-manic-state where I ended up travelling 40 miles to try and buy the last portable air conditioning unit in Scotland - even the cats were too hot and abandoned our bedroom to sleep in the bath for a while!!

When DD was born we had a ginger and white boy mog (sadly deceased) who loved her. He would sit beside her in the bouncy chair and purr.

We also had a tabby boy, who if DD wailed too loudly would give us a despairing look and catapult himself out the catflap until the noise subsided!

Called into the living room by DS2 to show me Sybil and one of the kittens - ON THE SAME CHAIR!!!
I suspect Sybil hadn't noticed...

Here is my poor little kitten, Pepper, today, only 11 weeks old. She's sad and fed up being stuck in her carry case but I'm playing it safe for a few days.

She was off food/drink and retching yesterday. Thankfully I got her to the vet quickly, as she ended up having an operation to remove a foreign body - part of a rubber sole of a shoe. £850 vet bill I've now insured them today. My friend was laughing at all my kitten safety measures in the house the other day. Now I'm even more cautious/worried!

Her brother is missing his playmate/cuddlemate. The last photo is how they like to sleep.

Haha Grumpy Has Sybil noticed in the end?

Sybil is still there - kitten has gone. I didn't hear a hissing and a wailing and a gnashing of teeth - but I might just have missed it. . Sybs was a dirty stop out last night so she's probably just too sleepy to notice.
