What's your DCat up to today? (Thread 7!)

I wanted to reply to @EachandEveryone but thread number 6 is full! That cooling mat thing looks fab.

What is everyone's cat up to today?

Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and my cat Freya is communing with the baby. Mainly purring and gentle pawing in response to little kicks. I am hoping they'll be friends! Meanwhile Maisie is looking on disdainfully. She's in the huff because I tipped her out of the pregnancy dungarees, which she had commandeered as her personal nest.

What are your furry overlords all up to?

Ahh, they’re like a gang of kids, LongRider.

TheLongRider · 17/04/2020 22:35

They are a proper little gang. No social distancing here!

When I try and call them in, they ignore me and pretend not to know who I am. As soon as I turn for home, they'll try and race me back to the house. I have to congratulate them when they arrive home with bits of twig stuck to them when they've taken shortcuts through the neighbours hedges.

Totally like teenagers, they sleep all day, eat me out of house and home, pester for treats, get into squabbles and they are infinitely cooler than I am. Grin

Our first cat had a friend who would call for him - so cute!
We’d shout out the stairs “scruffy’s here” and our cat would wake up and run out and play. Not in our garden though - it had to be at Scruffy’s place or neutral territory! Scruffy was my aunt’s cat and lived round the corner.
Our second cat was a big baby who was terrified of all cats except inexplicably one stray, who eventually moved in.

Oldravwr is that a pedegree cat? Gorgeous sturdy boy.

Mine are enjoying the wearther. They have taken to jumping out of my spare bedroom window which i dont mind but I dont know how the new londger will feel.....

Want2beme · 18/04/2020 11:35

Lovely photo TheLongRider. They're a proper little clowder.

Here's my very vocal girl hassling me, looking directly at her food cupboardHmm

Want - I'll swap you for bored tabby boy! He's the only one still awake, everyone else is onto their second nap of the morning. Tabby boy is patrolling the house yowling, he doesn't want fussing, he'd quite like a snack and it's wet out. Between him and pre-teen DD there's plenty of drama.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/04/2020 12:08

new londger will feel.....

New lodger? I lost track of that story. Do tell!

EachandEveryone · 18/04/2020 13:03

Oh do you mean actual person or feline?

Cat wise tcn took four kittens last year and this naught boy couldnt be tamed so had to come back to live with my little colony. He is a fraudster and wants belly rubs every time I open my door. Hes inching his way in. Hes about 7 months. He obviously cant come in I have enough on my plate juggling ginger boy as my Daph really doesnt care for him. So i have to feed mine first before I can let him in.

Human lodger is hot! Lordy, hes a young primary school teacher mum is from Cape Town so he goes back to see her every holiday. Its win win! Im so looking forward to him moving in. The girls love him. My other lodger has just moved in and Im in love with her, shes a dietitian that likes a drink, shes superfit cycles 7 miles to work, comes home then goes for a jog and brings home reduced cake. She works with patients who cant eat because of surgery. Shes lived all over the world, shes a nomad and can sleep anywhere. Shes lovely but I know this is very transient and she will move on as soon as shes saved enough to do the ski season in Canada so Im going to enjoy he company til then. And no, shes not going on the contract😄

I didn't know you had collected yet another cat!

EachandEveryone · 18/04/2020 13:32

Oh god its never ending ive got my girls and ginger who is asleep in th3 spare room. Then five or six outside but this little black one is super friendly I think when this is all over we will try and rehome him.

Oldraver · 20/04/2020 22:04

Each DS isnt sure what kind of cat he is, though he certainly doesn't have a moggy look.

DS says he is very very laid back

TroysMammy · 21/04/2020 13:49

I couldn't tell you what Haribo is up to. He's made friends with a neighbour's white cat and they've gone off somewhere together. His mother was mainly white so I suspect he thinks he's with her.

I didn't get a cat so it could wander off and lounge around in a neighbour's garden when I've got a perfectly good garden here!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 22/04/2020 18:16

Sybil is not helping prepare tea tonight.

Haribo must have heard me moaning up post and to my neighbour, he's been hanging around the garden the last few days.

Today he was quite pleased with himself as he found a magpie's feather in the garden. The nearest he's come to a bird.

Want2beme · 25/04/2020 00:35

He's been out on the town and is looking very pleased with himself.
