What is everyone's cat up to today?

Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and my cat Freya is communing with the baby. Mainly purring and gentle pawing in response to little kicks. I am hoping they'll be friends! Meanwhile Maisie is looking on disdainfully. She's in the huff because I tipped her out of the pregnancy dungarees, which she had commandeered as her personal nest.

What are your furry overlords all up to?

My tiny little rescue runt cat has been terrorising local dogs. There's a public footpath at the back of my house; last week she chased a huge but terrified Chow and squared up to a Standard Poodle Earlier she lay in wait and ambushed a guy walking his elderly mongrel and frightened the bejesus out of them The poor guy swore very loudly

Of course I did not find this at all funny...

Another one, he's usually quite calm except when the guinea pigs are allowed out of their cage then he turns into pshyco cat and we have to put him in another room

Today is a 'guarding the the trampoline' sort of day, followed by a suitcase snooze!

Basil is pretending to be a kitten this morning attacking me through the banisters.

Does anyone have any tips for stopping 4.30am meowing?

We've tried:

Lots of play before bed

Plenty of food at bedtime

We don't allow Basil in the bedrooms at night and unfortunately his meowing is waking us all up.

Really don't want to have to resort to shutting him in the kitchen

He's probably only miaowing to come in.

The problem is @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats he purrs really bloody loudly / tries to sleep on my head.

DH is also allergic to cats, so not ideal to have him on the bed.

I suppose I could put a catbed on the bed; that'll stop him going up there

Oh that is some serious plotting! Maximus is curled up asleep on the ironing board after a hard day curled up asleep under a bush 😴😴

My half witted cat bought in a mouse last night and started chasing it round the landing. Dh grumpily stomped down to play tom and jerry, where hilariously the mouse ran over his foot and crawled under my vacuum cleaner I'd left there. We know its still inside, as said stupid cat sat and watched it all night, and has gone back to day watch this morning.
The dust container is full and needs emptying. Normally I'd empty it straight into the bin, but I can't do that to poor mousy. But I think it's probably in the sucky bit at the bottom. Dh is going to have to take the whole thing apart, isn't he?

Bloody Karl just brought in a tiny (very alive) mouse and dropped it. 30 minutes later normal service has been resumed (mouse finally rescued and put outside) but the cats are all running around like loons convinced it's still in the house...

We’ve been to the vet for boosters today. Both need to lose weight. Im working out how we are going to do that.

I can't help feeling that I have a surfeit of black cats - and that they are probably continuously plotting.
