Fireworks very good this year. The London skyline, so established and solid, is fizzing and glittering away like a glass of champagne. Black silhouettes of the historic buildings along the Thames are dissolving into liquid gold and silver. Best so far - rainbow flashes of iridescence as MI6, surely the most sullen, brutalist lump ever, melts upward into a sky of multicolour stars.

Just fed Mr C the cheese off the reduced pizza to pacify him further.

Mr C’s life seems to be a lurch from morsel to morsel. (When you’re around and .....up.)
