So we adopted a nine year old cat name megan before Christmas. She was so Nervy and underweight (5lbs). Shed been mistreated and handled roughly. She's made great progress and has recently started doing this (lying on my lap) im so happy! Please share ur pics and stories. Would love to see and hear xx

This is possibly my favourite thread ever. Lovely to see and hear all about them and their second chances.

Well she's Siamese/Oriental isn't she, Nym ? Cuddling and affection are to be expected. Smile (If you're her person.)

Every single one of these kitties is a joy and a beauty to behold!

Am I the only one noting Seniorboy doesn't look a day over 15?

Here's one of Mr C - we've been together since he was six, so eight years of pure happiness in a furry cashmere-swaddled ball. He is FIV, was so dirty when I got him from Battersea I thought he was black, and had been rescued from use as bait a dog-fighting ring. He has saved forty people's lives in a fire, and he is my life.

He gets what he wants now, as my line manager. Is a very purry boss. Seniorboy is his idol :)

Ah I love these threads, all the lovely happy endings Smile

We've now had our two for ten years, we got them from the Cats Protection when they were kittens. Wasn't sure of their circumstances but their mum and litter mates had been adopted and these two brothers were left behind. Fell in love with the pair of them as soon as I clapped eyes on them.

I've posted pics of my little rescue boy before. First pic was taken not longer after he was found trying to feed from his dead mother (he was nearly starving). Second one was taken about a month ago; he's now a big squishy menace who causes havoc wherever he goes and sleeps on my head at night

Just wanted to say how beautiful all these cats are, and how lucky to have had a second chance with such wonderful ownersSmile

This was my previous cat to the enormous lump I have now. Tiny Brezzi, who was thrown over my garden wall, tied in a carrier bag, when I lived in London. PTS aged 20.

Aw Bigtap- what a beauty- he looks like our handsome boy. Well done 💐

HemanOrSheRa · 15/02/2017 04:10

Such gorgeous cats. Both of mine are rescues, kits that I have acquired through my job not from rescue centres. Girl cat is old and grumpy, I've just let her out. So no pics tonight. She's not ready. I luffs her. Here is Mr Frankie Knuckles lounging and then when I poked him, making sure no one steals his toy. We rescued a litter of kittens - me and a colleague, a police officer and a manager.

LanaorAna1 · 15/02/2017 23:32

Bigtap your beautiful kitty and his story have cracked my heart. How wonderful you made the story's ending. Congratulations to you both.

bigtapdancingpimp · 16/02/2017 20:28

Thanks guys Grin He's a proper Simon's Cat - very comical and entertaining (his 'sisters' can't be doing with him at all!)

This photo is of him fascinated watching a cat video on the laptop...

This is my girl Tiggy, rescued her and her mum together but had to split them up.

Tigs is still really timid with strangers, she spent her first few weeks in her new home in hiding but now she'll come and sleep next to me, will run to greet me if I've been out... I love her so much, she makes me happy Smile

She is a complete stunner! Such perfect crystal green eyes.

Pengweng · 18/02/2017 20:47

Aww gorgeous kitties!
We adopted Marmalade aka her ladyship in January. She is 10 and very overweight but has started to slowly lose some so hopefully in a few months she won't be such a fatty.

lovely thread and lovely pics.

This is the Smith cat, Milo. Been with us for a year. An absolute angel. DD (9) has severe ASD/LDs and always wanted a cat. He is her best (and only) friend. He is 6 and has been with us only for a year and getting him was the best thing we did last year.

This is my elderly boy (although he doesn't act it) - now 16. Got him last May - he'd been with the rescue for six months after his owner died and they took one look at me and thought "she's a soft touch, she'll take the old one that nobody else wants to look at". And I did, and I'm so glad I did.

To me he is Puss, Pussums, Posh Paws, Mr Shouty and various other things depending on how demanding he's being. He's soft as shite, loves being on my lap or lying on me in bed. He's a bit stiff but otherwise sprightly and I am very glad he is with me.

I should add: the pic above is when I was eating fish and chips. He LOVES fish, and each time the fork went up to my mouth and back down again, his little face followed it.

Of course he got a nice bit of fish at the end to reward his patience Grin
