So we adopted a nine year old cat name megan before Christmas. She was so Nervy and underweight (5lbs). Shed been mistreated and handled roughly. She's made great progress and has recently started doing this (lying on my lap) im so happy! Please share ur pics and stories. Would love to see and hear xx

Such lovely stories and pictures! Thank you for sharing. Here is our girl. We got her from the Scottish SPCA in September. She was born in a garage in Edinburgh to a stray mum. The mechanics kept an eye on the mum and litter of 3. Tragically mum was killed by a car after a week and the mechanics got the SSPCA in. Of the 3 one kitten died. Another was adopted and our baby girl was the last left in the cage when we went to find a cat / kitten. We fell in love immediately. She is here sitting on clean laundry (of course! ) xx

This Is my big girl. She was Demi feral when we got her - had been living in a local park for about 6 months or so and at the shelter for 3 months. She was kicked out of her first home when she was about 6 months after getting pregnant and from all accounts had all her kittens with her when she was found (most dead and sadly the survivors all died too).
We took her in and have been unbelievably patient with her. In the last 6 weeks it's paid off. She comes up on the couch for sleeps snuggles up on the bed she takes food/treats from our hands etc etc.

Aww vino yours looks just like an elder version of our Bobbin, adopted from Battersea last year. She was living rough with her litter of kittens despite only being a year old herself.

Now she loves going nuts with a ball or ribbon, and is the most affectionate little thing!

They are all so gorgeous. I'm going to bed with a lovely fuzzy feeling (and fuzzy cat at me feet).

Your cats are all gorgeous. Megs just started coming on laps this last week :)

Harry was adopted from a rescue after being trapped as a feral cat. They realised he wasn't feral and decided to rehome rather than release him. He's been with us nearly 9 years and I love the bones of the bitey, scratchy little bugger!

He has (in the second photo) rather an air of 'I am the king of all I survey'. Grin

We adopted Archie and Angus the day before Xmas Eve in 2013 from our local cat rescue. We had seen them two weeks before but wanted to wait until we had finished work for the Xmas break so we could spend time with them before we went back to work. They were found in someone's shed when they were a couple of days old. Their mum was a pedigree Birman but she wasn't chipped and no-one ever came forward to claim her.

Cozie, she still snores and sounds very sniffly especially in the winter. I'm also snuffling and now her sister is too!

Toddlerteaplease · 12/02/2017 21:50

Emem she is gorgeous what a brilliant photo!

StumblyMonkey · 12/02/2017 21:54

Our kittens Luke Skywhiskers and Leia Skywhiskers...

We fostered their mum for Cat's Protection who was a very beautiful stray with broken ribs after a car accident. We didn't know she was pregnant when we took her in and then ended up with six kittens!

All the other kittens are settled in their adopted homes and Mummy cat is too (she needed to be an only cat so we couldn't keep her).

We're left with these two furry beasts along with our original two masters cats...

Pics are them at about 6-8 weeks and now at six months Smile

My beautiful Maisie Mew! We adopted her in September and she's three years old. She's been off her food a bit lately and had us all worried but she's picking up a bit now.

Such a pretty girl. Smile

YesItsMeIDontCare · 12/02/2017 22:03

Leroy. Dumped for having FIV I think, but the vets who originally handed him over to the rescue didn't have much info on him. Then a combination of being black and having FIV had him languishing in a rescue for a while.

cozietoesie had a BIG hand in getting us together. Grin

These are our cats, who we adopted from Cats Protection in October. Wasn't really a Cat person, and only gave in due to DH's persuasion but now I am totally sold. It's a Mum and her Son, she's only 16 months old and he is 8 months so she was just a Baby herself when she had him; they both needed feeding up and some tlc (especially her, I had to teach her how to play Sad) but they are both thriving and an absolute joy Smile

My special little girl. She'd been dumped and DP brought her home. She was quite poorly and only 5 months old. She's a little cracker and I luff her😍

All these stories are so lovely.

cozietoesie · 12/02/2017 22:19

She's wonderful. Smile

Your two look so contented now, Dolly. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/02/2017 22:20

There's an ad on YouTube from America where they give cats to non cat people & they all end up keeping them.

It's heart warming.

DollyParsnip · 12/02/2017 22:21

I think they are, Cozietoesie - when they're not chasing each other round the house at the speed of light anyway Grin
