So we adopted a nine year old cat name megan before Christmas. She was so Nervy and underweight (5lbs). Shed been mistreated and handled roughly. She's made great progress and has recently started doing this (lying on my lap) im so happy! Please share ur pics and stories. Would love to see and hear xx

What breed is coco?

LittleCandle · 13/02/2017 09:26

Hamish and Hector. Hamish is on the bottom. I rescued them 8 years ago. They are 14 now, and Hamish enjoys being picked up and cuddled. Hector still freaks when he is picked up. They had (and have) no concept of how to play with you. I don't think they were ever allowed on laps, as only Hamish will actually sit on my lap very occasionally. They are 14 now and Hector has developed a thyroid condition. He hasn't been well for the last week and is due back at the vet today or tomorrow but we've got the decorators in the the little git darling has buggered off outside, so there's very little hope of getting him there today! Hamish, on the other hand, is curled up in his basket with his tail over his nose because it is cold outside.

fluffy Coco is a Siamese/Birman cross. Siamese colouring and temperament, but the wrong shaped head! And incredibly high maintenance...

Meet Mason. Had him from the cat rescue 4 years ago this week.

I adopted Watson (Lord Watson Flufferbutter, to give him his full title) from a rescue in 2013.

He's a huge chicken dinner cat and has no top fangs, so his attempts to look aloof and dignified often go wrong!

Love this thread. So many gorgeous cats

I'll just link to a thread I did of Bibi's before and after pictures, which I love. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/the_litter_tray/2530051-Bibi-then-and-now
It's funny because although Bibi had a horrendous start to life and Zara has never known a day's hardship, Zara is the nervy one. I assume its because even though she's a cross, there are so few Abysinians in Britain that she still rather inbred.

I want a rescue puss 🐱.

Beautiful cats on here and it's great to see so many rescue cats rehomed x

This is my cat taken not long after we got her, from the Blue Cross. She was 8 when we got her, and probably 10 now... but I'm totally in love her, and she gets her every whim!

Here's Olicat, adopted from Battersea when she was a kitten.

She was one of a litter of five kittens dumped in a bin when only about 3 weeks old. Four of the five kittens survived - Olicat is now 13, and very indulged.

It is lovely to see so many cats getting another chance in life (also a better chance too) ;)

This is funcat! I rescued him and his brother when they were about 7wks old. Their mum was a stray and had given birth in a builders yard. One day she disappeared and never came
back Sad
Funcats eyes were all stuck together and was sat looking very forlorn and his brother was retried. The brother was hit by a car at 12 months old :(

Anyway it turned out funcat is totally deaf and has a really f*cking loud meow!!

If he's not on your lap or 1cm away from your face he's not happy!

Here he is being his usual energetic self Grin

Oliver cat, who we adopted from Cats Protection in August last year. It feels like he's been with us forever. He's not a lap cat but he loves being picked up and is very affectionate - when he's asleep he'll often reach out a paw to check you're still sat next to him. He also enjoys being brushed and isn't averse to a belly rub!

One of two alleged 'devoted' sisters, rescued 2 years ago aged 12 after their owner, an old lady, died. This one was called Spike which isn't a nice name for a cat! So she's Spice. Or Fatty. She has diabetes and likes to play 'dead dog' on the carpet.

They weren't really quite so devoted to each other? Wink

cozietoesie · 13/02/2017 21:01

What's pixie's breeding, baby? Those eyes.........Smile

Moose23 · 13/02/2017 21:03

My beautiful princess. Came to us as a proper little feral who used to steal food from the pantry and hated people. Now a docile lady who appreciates the finer things in life, like pure wool blankets and nights by the radiator. Still loves s good feed though!

and the other of the devoted sisters (they hate each other) who was called Tabby - now Tammy. She loves to hunt and climb trees. She was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. She sleeps with me :)

We adopted our cat in July, she settled in so well. Doesn't look it in the photos, but she's super cuddly and affectionate!
