Black Cat Appreciation Thread

I love black cats. I love the way sometimes they look like four-legged holes in reality, and the way they disappear all except their eyes when sitting in a dark spot. It makes me really sad that they're so often the last to be adopted at rescue centres, because people are superstitious about them.

So I'm starting a black cat appreciation thread! I'll come back shortly on my phone and post some pictures of our black rescue boycat - please come and show me pictures of your own black cats or just random black cat pictures off the internet if you don't have one.

Yay! Mine is a 4 year old female and she is a grumpy cow but I love her! We got her from a rescue centre. She was the last one and the staff said they had trouble homing black cats

Also, can I add that another excellent thing about black cats is that sometimes if you look at them in the right light you can see they're black with black stripes

Here's my boy in his favourite spot. Black cats rock.

I love black cats. I had the privilege of having one.
He was a total loon, a complete massacre of wildlife and a total idiot when it came to roads.
He liked going for walks with me.
Sadly he died after being run over for a second time, after I had him for just over a year.
Will always miss him.

My black cat is a black cat with stripes! He has white feet though and a white chin so isn't fully black, though we love him.

My old cat was black too. He was a giant. We miss him.

does a black and gold cat count? this is teddy and she has a ginger wig so we sometimes call her Donald Trump. also a Ziggy Stardust face, one white paw and a tiger stripe at the tip of her tail. she is bonkers.

Somebody is trying to get me to adopt a black stray... I would love to but am away for extended periods of time so its not fair on the little moggy. He is beautiful and the adoption people are trying to help with solutions

I adore our 2 boys. They often walk us down the road and its like having 2 small panthers. We are quite famous down or way.

Oh I love this! I've never understood why they're always last to be adopted, they're beautiful

Here is mine. I've had him since I was 11, he's been everywhere with me. He was a rescue and to be quite honest was a horror up until he was about 9. He's really mellowed out since then. Think he's on his last legs now though

Black cats are beautiful! Mine is a proper diva! Don't have any photo here though unfortunately, and she lives with my dad at the moment :( Miss my little Toddy.
