Black Cat Appreciation Thread

I love black cats. I love the way sometimes they look like four-legged holes in reality, and the way they disappear all except their eyes when sitting in a dark spot. It makes me really sad that they're so often the last to be adopted at rescue centres, because people are superstitious about them.

So I'm starting a black cat appreciation thread! I'll come back shortly on my phone and post some pictures of our black rescue boycat - please come and show me pictures of your own black cats or just random black cat pictures off the internet if you don't have one. Grin

Another black cat fan here!
I love their velvet fur.
We have a tiny black girl, she is now 8 months old and was one of 6 pure black cats in the litter,
I always think her front paws look like tarantulas legs Grin

One of our cats recently had kittens, one was all black. I was so happy when I saw the black one as I love black cats and we're going to keep her. She's 6 weeks old now. I will try and get a picture of her with her brother and sister. The kids have named her Clawdia. She is totally adorable.

Oh DD & I went to view a 6 month old male at the rescue centre today, hes a beaut. Fingers crossed.

They are coming to check the house next week.

I don't have a photo to hand but my first cat after leaving home was black. Got her when she was weeks old and had to have her pts five years ago when she was 13. She was tiny and beautiful and I adored her.

Miss her very much.

Lovely seeing all these gorgeous black cats.

I love black cats and am loving seeing all of these beauties. Have only had black and white cats (again, not popular at rescues) and can't see why more people don't appreciate them either. Black cats are more glamorous though.

This is Big Dave who we rescued. He's so friendly he has ended up in all sorts of places. Recently he went into the village school, DDs old nursery, the ambulance station the the psychiatric hospital reception. So many people have brought him home, he's napped on sofas with other cats. He's fab.

My girl. She has white whiskers, bib and paws but is mainly black. There is a theory that black cats have persisted despite historic prejudice against them because they are friendlier. B. came from CPL and was feral but is very tame with me.

Aww, they are all so beautiful.

We would have adopted a black female kitten, at least that was DS intention, and then he fell for her red brother; but she lives with nighbours now.
