Scary moments with your cats...

As a balance to Chockbic's "nice moments with your cats".

Lounging in bed this morning, DH still asleep. Sinister MCat just staring like he wanted to kill us. He did that for half an hour. Constant staring.

Creepy cat. (I do luffs the sinister bastard though)

I'm glad she didn't lose her head.

I'm sure Signor MCat would dissect my head from body if his jaws were big enough.

He just scared the life out of me again , he was under the bed thumping his feet against the wall. Thought he was having some kind of fit. I looked, and he was rabbit kicking his kickaroo, high on catnip.

I think he's decided to spend the day freaking mummy out.

We actually laughed because the bloke couldn't start his engine.

Then we found out why Shock. She lost quite a few teeth.

And yes, when cats were Sabre Tooth Cats, we were their main prey.

I referred to Monty as an angry owl early on, since he would just hide and glare at me. While he's mellowed considerably and now loves attention from me, the intense staring hasn't dissipated. I was chatting to a neighbour a while back and mentioned having two black cats, and the guy said "oh yes I think I know one of yours - he sits in the garden and glares at me through the window." I think it's just his default expression - either he's staring intensely at someone/something or he's asleep.

This is an example of some mid-cuddles intense staring. In most other cats I know, that level of wide-eyed crazy staring would mean they were about to launch at your face, but in Monty it's just "I'm enjoying this so keep petting me now please."

What is that thing they do where they sit stock still, then all of a sudden, look terrified, and do that wide eyed thing, as if they've seen something utterly horrifying that we can't see, then they run away as fast as they can? What the eff is that??

Ha, I recognise that stare!

Thing is, with MCat, it could mean don't stop petting me, else I'll bite you. Or stop petting right now or I'll bite you. Or wake up and feed me right now. And if you don't, I will snack on any part of your exposed skin. Preferably toes.

He likes things done when he deems they should.

Living with him is thrilling but scary.

MKitten does this crazy prancing thing making weird noises for no reason whatsoever. Perhaps he thinks he's a Unicorn?

He drags his shag cuddle bag into my room and wakes me up with his loud pervy purring as he defiles it.

MKitten started on the shag bag almost as soon as we brought him home. He was at it the day after his neuter. Have to admire the boy's stamina.

He also does the grunty thing, and if he's annoyed, a sort of pfffft.

One of mine once got her head tangled in a carrier bag and went haring around the house with me trying to catch her and remove it. I really thought she was a goner, it was terrifying. And my other one managed to half-open the door from his carry-cage but it snapped back just as he stuck his head out and trapped him by the throat. I shake when I think about it. DH ripped the cage door off with his bare hands to save him.

Nowadays I have soft carry-cases and don't keep carrier bags where the cats can get them!

My old cat liked to sit in my wardrobe, but when I went to bed, she'd wait long enough for me to nod off, then leap out onto the bed. I think this may have been her idea of a practical joke.

Love jewels Grin

I did feel very guilty Chock. I think I started a thread on here about my guilt. (I'm catholic, we like a bit of the old guilt)

My late girl got into a paper bag with the string handles when she was a kitten. The string handles got caught around her neck. I witnessed a bag bounce around the room, screeching. (She was unscathed)

MKitten likes to sneak up on me and tap me carefully on the shoulder. I swear he's more monkey than cat...

My sorely missed beautiful black and white cat was a bit lacking in brain power. I heard him behind the sofa making a hacking noise, I thought he was about to deliver me a hairball, moved the sofa out so I could clean it up and found the cat attempting to hack up an 8 inch and thick blade of grass that he'd somehow managed to get directly down his nostril. I pulled it out, it was covered in cat snot, and my lovely cat thanked me by swiping at my hand :)
My black cat once managed to get a claw from his front paw wedged up a nostril, he yowled like I'd never heard, had to clamp him to me so I could get it out as he was just pulling and pulling at his nostril.

Me, cats and noses don't seem to get along!

Oh, that reminds me West, of when the sadly departed Creature got her claw caught in the string of the blind.

I thought there was a banshee in the house. She had a proper tantrum.

Terrifying moment this morning.

DH kindly went out to get me some breakfast. We then snoozed for a bit. I woke up to him leaping out of bed and charging out the front door. His OCD had caused him to wake up panicking he hadn't closed the front door. (cat's aren't allowed out the front, too busy)

Thank goodness for OCD, because he had actually left it open.

MCat had got out, and was found eventually in the churchyard. The little yowly screech I heard when they returned was music to my ears.
