Has anyone got a bunch of idiotically named cats, and do you feel foolish when you yell said idiotic names out the back door.

Mine are called Scampi and Chips (two big black panther like brothers) and Pickle and Lily (girl kittens, one ginger and white and one tortoiseshell).

I forgot Daisy. Sorry Daisy

When discussing names we would like to give our children, DH came out with several which got a swift veto from me, so the cats ended up with two of his favourites.

Anaïs (grey) and Cleo (Siamese-y) - mugshots on my profile. Anaïs is sometimes alternately addressed as evil git or cheeky fucker and generally ignores any pathetic human attempts to catch her attention unless said human is waving a hunk of cheese. Cleo however answers quite readily to 'Goofy' which I think she is called more often than her real name. It describes her pretty accurately Grin

Rita, Sue and Bob (too) and Cookie and Peaches

ClaimedByMe · 29/01/2012 09:38

We have a Bella, named after the tweenie, cant even blame dd as she was only 8 months when we got her, a Sunday, he came with that name and was a bit older so we didnt bother changing it and a Maddie, the clue is in the name.

I do feel a bit stoopid shouting on them and rattling their biscuits trying to get them in the evening!!

MrsChemist · 29/01/2012 10:00

Winston Churchill is his full name. He's usually Winst or NobCat.

He is a nob.

TastesLikePanda · 30/01/2012 22:06

I have Matthew and Jeffrey. Brothers, named after the Hardy brothers from WWE...

I long to have another cat I can call Beans...

SP0104 · 01/02/2012 13:08

TomThomas (has to said in full) is 12weeks.

albertswearingen · 01/02/2012 13:16

Casper and Boo- our black cats we got one Halloween. Silas our very elderly tabby.

catinboots · 01/02/2012 13:25

Mums last cats were called Thomas and Carlos O'Brian

catinboots · 01/02/2012 13:26

Carly O'B recently deceased much to dismay of mum's four DGS Sad

catinboots · 01/02/2012 13:27

As a kid we had Oliver, Caesar and Buster

Listmaker · 01/02/2012 13:57

We also had a Harry Potter theme as other here have! We had a Fred and George (white and ginger cats) but Fred got killed - should have known better than to name him after the twin that died eh?!

Then we inherited two big ginger boys from my dh's ex which eldest dsd had named Wilfred (Owen) and Siegfried (Sasson) as she was doing war poets for A level English at the time! They are now known as Wilf and Ziggy.

But I really want to name my next male cat Trevor. Love using old fashioned now unused names for pets!

esandi · 02/02/2012 17:53

We have a Maine Coon he is called Biggles and two of his offspring called Deadline & Zorin both boys. Zorin named after the Bond bad guy.

Ponyphysio · 02/02/2012 17:59

Andy & Dave :)

Loveleopardprint · 04/02/2012 20:40

We have a Russian blue cat called Vladimir. He was bought initially to kill mice so he is Vlad the impaler.
He is a real softy though but does enjoy hunting.

sashh · 05/02/2012 05:07

I used to foster so most of these are foster cats

Countess Violet Elizabeth, guardian of the scarves

Sam and Tosh

Jacob and Chivers

Princess

Bo and Luke

Charlie - tuxedo cat who thought he was a bouncer - he used to stand guard on the front door

Venus

Lilly and Tonks - AKA - the black tigers - they were completely black but in the sun you could make out tabby markings in a slightly different shade

Scratch fury - he was very ill and didn't last long - we felt he should at least have a good name

Marchesa Gata Misteriosa, hunter of legs (but she's registed as Misty with the vet)

ShipsCat · 05/02/2012 06:54

We have 2 big, fat, hairy, black and White brothers called Fred and Harry. Affectionately known by DH as Left Slipper and Right Slipper. We renamed them when we fostered them, as there was no way I was calling for Rocky and Rambo!!

mumofjust1 · 09/02/2012 20:50

Ginger tom called Alfie - big bruiser of a boy who has a permanently pissed off look on his face, and swans around like he owns the place. As the first cat in out of the 3 of them, he likes to show who's boss Smile

Black long haired moggy called Gizmo - very gentle and laid back - never ever scratched anyone. Quite aloof too.

Silver tabby, 15 weeks old - Oscar. Mad as a box of frogs and torments the other two like there's no tomorrow Grin gizmo puts up with it but Alfie won't take any shit Smile

I love our cats Grin

MessNessPess · 10/02/2012 00:32

Suzy Puddcat a inherited from my RIP Dada.

Slinky Malinky a lanky still growing black kitten from Greece.

RIP Samson a large 'slow' black and white boy found at the side of the road.

PineappleBed · 10/02/2012 22:39

Behemoth - big grey/ginger/black long haired moggy named after the book "the master and margarita"
Archie and Minka - tabby and tabby and white moggies named after the radio show "hut 33"

BikeRunSki · 10/02/2012 22:51

Eddie, registered at the vet (with great sense of humour) as Edward Gray-Catt. He is half British Blue (and thus, grey/Gray) and half moggy (with white feet).

Have formerly had Meeper (tortie, made meeping sound as kitten); Bassey (Meeper's kitten, short for Sebastian once we found out he was a she); Barney (Meeper's kitten, he and Bassey both black moggies); Floyd ( long haired tabby, been to see Pink Floyd when we got her); Diva and Eden (sis and bro, black and white).

MissMogwi · 10/02/2012 22:55

Pippa. She's a dainty ginger tabby, and it really suits her.

2blessed2bstressed · 10/02/2012 23:04

Delilah. She's a tiny silver tabby Maine Coon. Loudest cat I've ever met. Scares the bejeezus out of the dog.

oldandcrabby · 11/02/2012 19:49

Suu Khi - Burmese
Gershwin - Russian Blue
Minka - Latvian for cat
Minnie - small, lost her tail, moaner and mouser
A cousin had a pair called J & B (she did drink whisky)
But the best was in a novel I read: Boat Race.
