Has anyone got a bunch of idiotically named cats, and do you feel foolish when you yell said idiotic names out the back door.

Mine are called Scampi and Chips (two big black panther like brothers) and Pickle and Lily (girl kittens, one ginger and white and one tortoiseshell).

OP posts:

Our 5 cats are named as follows...

Elmera (answers to Elmo) a very dim Maggie whose life is spent sleeping against the AGA
Felicity (flick) a tortie bully, terrorizing dogs and cats for her pleasure
Dora our blue Maine coon and mother to...
Trevor - our beautiful Maine coon who purrs like a TVR car. To imagine his fur, think the prince and his hair in shrek!
Oeufman, whose real name is Rufus. Trevor's brother, but a big red furred brute of a cat with a heart of gold.

We also have 2 dogs. An old boxer called Hilda McWelly butt and Rosie Bear Bum

tabulahrasa · 28/01/2012 15:57

oh yeah, mine have my surname and the DC have their dad's too, lol

that's actually never occurred to me before now

An old tuxedo cat called Paris - named after a character from Star Trek Voyager by ex-h. Brother & sister gingers named by dts - Anakin & Padme (although as siblings Luke & Leia might have been more appropriate!)

Our poor dog retained his Guide Dog puppy walking name of Faldo as I just couldn't start calling him something else after he failed his advanced training. Anakin takes great delight in torturing him, lying in his bed so dog ends up on floor. Padme is definitely a princess though very 'chatty'. Paris is a grumpy old man who likes to sit behind me & chew my hair!

Agnes and Sybil, 2 black and white ,old moggies. They came from a cat rescue sanctuary and we think they are sisters or possibly Mum and daughter. The names there were given by the rescue sanctuary were Mercedes and Lexus, so we very quickly renamed them. They really are not pedigree top of the range cats so if you were going to name them after cars I would think they should been named Corsa and Fiesta. My cat when I was very little was called Thomas Tit (yes I know this rhymes with shit but my Mummy never realised!) and we also had Trampuss Titty Poo. An old boyfriedn of mine, a Parisian had a very very elegant black cat called Desdemona - it was a perfect name for her

TerraNotSoFirma · 28/01/2012 16:45

Deeley (Cat Deeley)
Buddah (He was a very fat kitten)

QOD · 28/01/2012 16:50

Mutley.

Have had a Rover (boy) and Scooby and Dougal (girls)

Always short haired black with amber eyes

maxcliffordslovechild · 28/01/2012 16:52

Ginger tom called Charlie although DH calls him the money pit because of the amount of money he costs us at the vets from his all too regular scraps.

ValarMorghulis · 28/01/2012 16:55

Pilchard.

DS named her when he was a toddler and rather taken with bob the builder

bruffin · 28/01/2012 17:13

Our cat was named Rosie by the CPL and decided to keep the name. Pic on my profile.

MrsLovely · 28/01/2012 17:19

Lily, Colin and Clive.

We used to have a Poppy to match the Lily, but sadly she has passed on.

We then for some reason moved away from the flower based names.

Clive is named (by DD!) after a friend of ours, so every time we talk about them we have to establish if it's Cat Clive or Man Clive...for instance...

" I think Cat Clive has worms"

" I see Man Clive has bought a new car"

You can see why this distinction is very important Grin

elah11 · 28/01/2012 17:27

Kizzy and Jessie, we had a Juno too but she got run over :(

bruffin · 28/01/2012 17:28

We have had a similar confusion Mrslovely

DS's exGF was called Rosie
Cat was called Rosie

DS's new GF called J* , last week I called her Rosie[embarressed]
quickly backpeddled and muttered about talking about the cat.

I do somestime call the cat Katycat

monstermissy · 28/01/2012 17:30

desertgirl · 28/01/2012 17:34

Mine is Hobie (or Hobie Cat, in full....), because his previous family found him as a kitten at the sailing club

My parents acquired a cat with the same name as a great uncle - had quite a shock at one point when I phoned while great uncle was staying, and it appeared they had taken him to the vet.....

bearminimum · 28/01/2012 17:35

Esme (usu called ezmog or evilmog) and gabriel (shortened to gabe) tortoiseshell might sisters ....

bearminimum · 28/01/2012 17:36

Moggy not might . Angry stoopid iPhone

lubeybooby · 28/01/2012 17:49

I have Nefertiti, a brindle tortie who also gets called Titi, Titipoo, and also just Poo. And Pinky (Pinky and The Brain)

Bootsie, a seal point himalayan - usually Bootsiefluff and Booshee/Boosheeboo/Boosheefluff and Brain as in Pinky and The Brain

Lola, a black cat who also gets called Lolie, Loliepo, Lolapolarbear, and for some reason, Wola and Wolie

and yes I feel very stupid if I have to call any of them.

essexmumma · 28/01/2012 17:52

misspamela · 28/01/2012 18:03

I'm sadly left only with Boom after the Year Of Many Deaths that was 2011. Boom is short for Boomerang, the last kitten who kept coming back. His full posh name is Mr Kiss Kiss Boom Boom Let Me Hear You Say Hosepipeban Way-o Boomerang Boy. He is a scraggy geriatric backstreet tabby who's taken to pissing wherever he god-damn pleases but we, or more truthfully, I love him.
