Has anyone got a bunch of idiotically named cats, and do you feel foolish when you yell said idiotic names out the back door.

Mine are called Scampi and Chips (two big black panther like brothers) and Pickle and Lily (girl kittens, one ginger and white and one tortoiseshell).

OP posts:

Sylvester and Tweetie.

I love it at the vet when they call out for them, using our surname as well.

Sylvester Starr and Tweetie Starr sound like a couple of porn merchants!

SnowWitchery · 28/01/2012 18:13

The Belly On Legs, and Pest. Interchangeable with Chicken or Squidget. They don't pay any attention anyway.

TitWillow · 28/01/2012 18:24

Rousseau and Hobbs. (otherwise known as Rouss and Pea-heed, or that fucking cat)

Rikalaily · 28/01/2012 18:32

Dixon - Tabby male who I adopted from the RSPCA when he was 9 weeks old, they named him so I kept it.

Cleo - Beigey grey female with lovely markings, she has lovely eyes which made me think of Cleopatra for some reason.

Smokey - Solid black male, he was called Panther when I got him at about 10 weeks old but the kids prefered Smokey so we changed it to that.

Tabitha - Smokeys half sister, she's a tiny torti. Kept the name she had when we got her and her brother.

We have a brown tabby called Carmichael, mikey for short as ds1 Couldn't pronounce it when he was small. He has the affectionate nick name of tealeaf as he'll pinch any food not out of his way including cat food pouches.
I want to get him a pal called patrick :)

Pandygirl · 28/01/2012 18:36

Joshua and Jacob, lovely tabby brother cats, unfortunately no longer with us.

ShineYourButtonsWithBrasso · 28/01/2012 18:36

Princess Phoebe and yes I feel like wright wally calling her name. Blush

mycatsaysach · 28/01/2012 18:39

used to live behind two french guys who had a cat called fanny - now that was funny when they used to call her in at night

msrisotto · 28/01/2012 18:48

We have a Jellybean, sometimes known as MonsterCat.

harbingerofdoom · 28/01/2012 18:51

Spike and Millie ! Guess why?
Both names okay to call though

PurpleKittyKnitting · 28/01/2012 18:52

We have one cat called Misty, he used to belong to our neighbour and that is what she called him, and we didn't want to change it.

He is dark brown/black and white, his patches are like a cow!

storytopper · 28/01/2012 18:57

Our cats have Japanese names. Kami (short for Kameko which means "little tortoise) - she is a tortoiseshell. Our other cat is called Shima, which means stripe - she is a tabby.

ReeBee · 28/01/2012 19:20

Branston and Pickle (brother and sister), also referred to as splodgy / fatty and needlefeet.

DontCallMeBaby · 28/01/2012 19:46

We have a Pickle too, and his brother is called Sausage. Pickle was, briefly, going to be called Fishfinger. It's bad enough shouting 'Sausage' out of the back door, so it's a good job I at least half came to my senses.

Pickle is mostly called Bobbles at the moment - an extension of one of his nicknames, Pickle-Bobs. Sausage doesn't tend to attract nicknames in quite the same way.

Our vets have one other Sausage on their books - it's a mouse, which I think is hilarious for some reason. Sadly, they don't seem to call animals by their forenames and the owners' surname, although a work experience girl did come out and call for Sausage Roberts once, which had me in raptures. Grin

demolitionduo · 28/01/2012 21:31

I have two large grey & white boys called Casper & Bob.

Sadly now departed, I have had McLeod, Ruskin, Rafferty & Soxy.

CMOTDibbler · 28/01/2012 21:33

It outs me completely, but Tesla, Heisenberg and Boltzmann. Previous cats were Schrodinger and Mendeleev

SucksToBeMe · 28/01/2012 21:35

Isa.

mistressploppy · 28/01/2012 21:36

We have Silas. I love the name and would have saved it for our DS but it doesn't go with our surname Grin

Lawrene8 · 28/01/2012 21:42

Two black and white cats called Gizmo and Lizzie. Gizmo after the cute one in the gremlins film and Lizzie for Elizabeth Bennett

wigglybeezer · 28/01/2012 21:44

My mum says her neighbour (in the fifties) had a black cat called N**r who regularly had his name hollered from the back door. Shock.

We have Jasmine and Bramble (a long haired tortie who looks and smaells as though she lives under a hedge!).

Suckstobeme, my Granny was called Isa.

hellhasnofury · 28/01/2012 21:46

Ohh OP, I had Steak and Chips for years, then Pepper joined them. I now have Blue.

thinneratforty · 28/01/2012 21:57

I may just out myself here, but they are: Sula (short for Ursula), Stirling Frances and Puck Hercule.
Don't ask.

SweetestThing · 28/01/2012 22:00

Basil ( aka fat cat), Sybil (Sybs, Sybittles) and Mrs Moggins (otherwise known as farting cat)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 28/01/2012 22:01

Blackie (he was named this when we got him) but DD calls him Meow.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 28/01/2012 22:02

Stirling Francis is a fabulous cat name.
