I am worrying about my cat again [sad].

She just took ages to get half up to then settle down and didn't seem to know what to do with her front right paw. Then after a minute she got down off the sofa and went out of the room.

She is 16. Her kidneys are failing, she has arthritis and has hypoestesias. She is on 4 tablets a day and special food. I am taking her for an extra check up this evening as she wasn't very well at all last week and had lost weight. She looks like she might have lost more Sad.

The vet said we are not at that point yet but part of me worries we are but he doesn't want to say as he knows how potty I am about her. She did play a bit yesterday though and is eating the new food we had to buy her after refusing to eat anything else.

SO sorry, maddie. I will take a look for your thread now.

Sad She has barely touched her breakfast and not even tried her tea even though I was later feeding her. She is sleeping next to me now.

Refused breakfast so I gave her some biscuits and she had a very small amount. She is sleeping now.

Sad keep your pecker up FAB

TheOriginalFAB · 26/06/2011 14:45

Thanks

We just got back from a trip to the beach and stopped at the shop on the way home. I spent more time choosing her food than ours! She didn't want to move out of the way of the car, even with gentle nudging so I had to pick her up. She really cried Sad. She is sat near me now so hopefully she is okay.

Sad Poor Fabcat.

TheOriginalFAB · 27/06/2011 15:57

FabCat has been terrified today as we have workmen in for the week and she scratched me all down my arm when I was holding her.

Oh poor little thing. It's so difficult when there are big changes.

Our cats scuttle around as if the world's ending when they see a suitcase, when we have work done they're completely off their heads until they get used to it; I had one once though, who was so laid back, in the middle of the turmoil of moving house while packing was still going on, movers tramping to and fro etc, I found her fast asleep in an armchair (which had had a long box laid across the arms - I thought I'd lost her).

TheOriginalFAB · 29/06/2011 13:49

She has gone AWOL again Sad. I saw her briefly and tried to entice her to me but she saw the man and was off. If she doesn't come home in the next half hour she won't be able to get in for a few hours as the man has fitted a new cat flap but her key might not work even though it is the same cat flap. Thankfully they finish tomorrow lunch time so she can come in and sleep. Last night the new door and cat flap confused her so much she weed all over the floor Sad. DH had shown her how to get out but never mind.

Oh poor love. Hope she shows soon, if she hasn't already.

TheOriginalFAB · 30/06/2011 09:11

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Less than 2 minutes after the workmen had gone she was meowing at the door! She has gone again but I am less worried as it is a lovely sunny day, she slept in her new bed, she got in the cat flap okay (I put the kids step to get to the loo there as it is higher up in the new door) and she has eaten a tiny bit of breakfast. Plus they won't be here as long today. I just feel sad she goes and hides in someone elses garden rather than her own or coming upstairs.

Oh she sounds on good form! So typical, you worry yourself almost sick and they turn up as if they've never been away, and want food; they're just like teenagers!

You are going down the staircase route, aren't you? Be careful, no one knows where it will end. Have you looked out your best towel for when she's a bit wet, yet? Grin

TheOriginalFAB · 30/06/2011 14:11

I think she might have been dried with my hand towel..........

Went down earlier and she was sitting in her new bed Grin.

Work men finished and gone so hopefully she will be happier now. She was shouting at me for something earlier so I gave her some biscuits even though she already had some Grin.

Ours do that, so cheeky. "We haven't been fed for weeeeeeeeeeeeeeks!" and then, as I'm putting biscuits down, dh comes in and tells me he's only just given them some.

She likes her new bed doesn't she?

Glad the men have done now. Hope it all went well from your pov.

TheOriginalFAB · 30/06/2011 19:07

I am really happy she liked her new bed as she doesn't like change.

The workmen were lovely so it all went well, thanks.

Sounds like she's doing quite well now, actually.

What bed is it? I've never managed to get any cat to use a bed, unless it's got a human in it!

TheOriginalFAB · 01/07/2011 08:11

I couldn't find the bed in the pets at home website so I looked on argos for cat bed and THIS was the last suggestion Grin.

Grin With a nice fluffy duvet to match, of course. Have you got the automated mouse food dispenser rigged up yet?

TheOriginalFAB · 01/07/2011 13:18

Oh shoot. I knew I had forgotten something.

FabCat is making very strange noises, snores and lies in the funniest positions.

OP posts:
Jux · 01/07/2011 21:21

Our Big Tabs does that. I love the extraordinary positions they can adopt, am envious tbh. I think he snores for the same reason dh does, position. When either of them move into more sensible position, the snoring stops.

Our youngest is on heat and making lots and lots of noise. I wish she'd get it through her skull that if she went out, the big ginger Tom who's hanging about in the garden would see her right Wink. I'm wondering if she's a mule (is that the term?). Viable but sterile.

TheOriginalFAB · 02/07/2011 14:16

I just made FabCat jump. She had mess on her and I was getting it off. Feel bad.

OP posts:
Jux · 02/07/2011 23:01

Don't feel bad. You were helping her. She loves you anyway Grin

TheOriginalFAB · 03/07/2011 08:36

She loves me when I am about to feed her..
