Flora or Fauna.

Extra points for a photo.

Handicap will apply to those in Forrin. Monthly win will not automatically go to, for example, a Cougar spot. The Cougar will need to be doing something awesome, like fighting a bear or doing sudoku.

Can I enter my 300 cranes please? They were flying in a pretty cool V formation. Not synchronized though.

chixinthestix · 02/03/2012 22:46

We found a noctule bat hanging on a fence post in the garden. It squeaked at us. Was v cute, but huge.

peggotty · 02/03/2012 22:52

A Robin was perched 30cm away from me as I was clearing leaves in the garden. It was watching me so closely, turning its head from side to side and warbling in a slightly muted way. It was so captivating. Not in the least big scared and so very close. It was a lovely encounter though not very exotic Smile

AIBUqatada · 03/03/2012 17:35

Hehehe at the handicap for people in Forrin. It's too easy there.

I saw a caterpillar today.

belindarose · 03/03/2012 17:40

I saw a firecrest. Watched him for ages. Beautiful.

And watched crazy people jumping into the river today. Sunny day, yes, but still only 8 degrees!

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 03/03/2012 17:55

Big flock of knot down in the mud flats at low tide.
(I've tried to find the collective noun of knot, but I keep getting "knot of frogs", so any suggestions are welcome!)

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 03/03/2012 17:56

V Envy of firecrest- not seen one for years.

Grockle · 03/03/2012 18:00

Good game. I saw a lame chicken in my hen house

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 03/03/2012 18:03

A tangle of knot?

Arf@ lame chicken and one legged blackbirds. No wonder cougars need a handicap!

FryingNemo · 03/03/2012 19:02

I do like that knitted bicycle!

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 03/03/2012 20:45

It's ourdoorsy isn't it? Grin

FryingNemo · 04/03/2012 19:57

I saw 3 flights of cranes today and heard 2 more but they were above the clouds.

CavemanDave · 06/03/2012 18:26

Erm, awfully naice cloud formations this evening. Bit dull really Blush
Nemo where on earth do you live to see some many cranes??

Slubberdegullion · 06/03/2012 18:43

Nice clouds Cavey? Nice??? C'mon we need a proper named cloud formation please.

This weekend I saw an Italian pigeon. Dull you say? Well maybe but this Italian pigeon flew out of the oculus in the Pantheon. Nature meets ancient Rome. Awesome.

Slubberdegullion · 06/03/2012 18:44

CavemanDave · 06/03/2012 18:51

Erm mackerel formation Blush

TheAlmightyBob · 06/03/2012 18:53

i saw baby lambs yesterday. i got all excited and nearly caused a major pile-up on the M4.

CavemanDave · 06/03/2012 18:55

Altocumulus. Apparently.

Harbinger of bad weather to come Hmm

AIBUqatada · 06/03/2012 18:56

If we're doing nature flying out of culture, I once saw a big bastard of a bat flying right out at me from a cranny in a Mayan pyramid in Palenque in Mexico. It was just like a cheap shot in an Indiana Jones flick.

Slubberdegullion · 06/03/2012 18:57

You google cavey. You can play with nice clouds but really almost everything on this thread will trump a cloud. Even grockle's lame chicken.

Grin @ Bob. It's easy to become distracted by baby lambs. they shouldn't really have them close to motorways.

Slubberdegullion · 06/03/2012 18:59

qatada that is indeed extremely fabulous, and also fantastic use of the word cranny (such a pleasing and yet underused word) however did you see this big bastard bat this month? If not then take it off the table please.

Slubberdegullion · 06/03/2012 19:02

x-post. they are indeed some very lovely clouds cavey.
