@BigBundleOfFluff
@Cocopuff

Will have to look back to tag others as cannot remember all names.

Sunpup dug when he was smaller, but luckily he seems to have stopped now! And now he's a big boy and cocking his leg my lawn is beginning to recover, as he likes to pee on the trees.
Although I think he's hard work he's actually a good boy, no peeing inside, sleeping all night every night, no digging, no chewing anything he shouldn't. And today at agility he listened to me at least 50% of the time ( a great improvement from the 0% last week) And he didn't even jump in the river!! 😀😀

hennipenni · 11/05/2023 22:51

Can I join? Hennipup is joining our family on Saturday, we already have on older dog who we got at 14 weeks so it will be strange having one so young!

Riverlee · 12/05/2023 13:09

Welcome @hennipenni . Looking forward to meeting Hennipup. Don’t forget to post a picture!

Cocopuff · 12/05/2023 13:32

Wow a whole new thread and some lovely new puppies! Welcome!

Coco is now 8 months, absolutely adorable and has such a sweet temperament. We now let her off the lead when on walks and in safe places as her recall is getting better. I love her energy levels but DH wishes she was more energetic. She's playful, loves belly rubs, still a fussy eater but better now we only feed her once a day. She's brilliant out and about - at restaurants and cafes she'll calmly go under the table, sometimes have a little wander, but generally go to sleep. She loves people and politely sits by new people coming into the front door waiting for a pat or belly rub and likes meeting new dogs, but only plays if they want to. We stayed with friends who had a 18 month sprocker last weekend - Coco played with her so nicely. Took her to an art fair today and she was so well behaved too.

Cocopuff · 12/05/2023 13:36

@CockapooMadness hope cockapup is much better now. Pumpkin or sweet potato (steamed and mashed and the tiniest amount added to their food) is helpful with firming up loose stools.

@NoWordForFluffy Coco used to be big digging fan - she's now more of a grass muncher.

Orangebadger · 12/05/2023 16:25

Has anyone here put a yak bar in the microwave after it's been checked down so it's too small? The pet shop that I bought it from suggested this to me, I thought it would melt and I could lengthen it but it kind of blows up! Will see if Orangepup is still interested in this new ballooned yak ball!

@Orangebadger yes! It's cool, just looks like a giant wotsit. Fluffpup demolished it in 1 gulp though.

Yes so did Orangepup, and all over my sofa!

Riverlee · 12/05/2023 19:31

Yes, we’ve done that. RiverPup loves it, but it is very crumbly.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/05/2023 20:31

We've not tried yak bars. FluffyPup's favourite snacks are fish skins and puffed chicken feet. Yum. 🤢

@Sunflowers765, our lawn is annihilated where he's wee'd. Have you re-seeded or is it coming back of its own accord? I'm re-seeding the parts where the grass has totally gone, bit by bit (dogs and sprogs seed mix from lawn.co.uk!), but if the wee'd on bit recovers, I'll leave that. He's not cocking his leg yet, though he's started to scent mark on walks.

He was sent wappy by a bitch on heat earlier, whose owner decided to walk her through the village at prime dog walking time. 🙄

Coco sounds great, @Cocopuff. We've not been to a pub with FluffyPup yet. It's on our list of things to do when the in-laws have the kids so we can try it without them. He has a show lab personality and throws himself at other people and dogs (the puppy trainer said he's got a working-looking front end and a show-looking back end, so his personality matches his rear!). We're planning on giving him a good walk so he's tired before taking him to the pub for the first time!

Sunflowers765 · 13/05/2023 18:34

@NoWordForFluffy yes we have reseeded the dead bits. My previous dog was a bitch so the lawn always suffered, but Sunpup started weeing on upright things at about 6 months and rarely wees on the lawn. So we reseeded and it is growing back! But there's dead patches around the washing line and the plum tree which seems to be his favourite places. Oh, and we've had a dog friend to stay this week so they've chased each other round and round so many of my plants are now trampled and broken 🙄🙄 luckily everything is growing so fast now I think some will recover! Dogs eh who'd have em!!

hennipenni · 13/05/2023 18:38

Well hennipup has arrived, we’ve spent all afternoon in the garden so no accidents in the house yet 🤣🤣
She seems to be reasonably well settled and has slept a lot.
I'm besotted with her, not sure that my older dog is!

@hennipenni Your dog is gorgeous 😍 oh wow . I'd love to give her a cuddle !

Riverlee · 13/05/2023 19:15

@sunflower My dh is seriously threatening artificial grass because our lawn, re-laid last year (pre-dog) has been wrecked (although the heavy rain we’ve had all year has also contributed ). We’ve put seed down and I’m hoping it takes. RiverPup is cocking his leg, so our plant pots and pergola have become the new targets.

i said earlier that RiverPup wasn’t a digger. I forgot about the plant pots which he has dug, after eating the plants.

@hennipenni Hennipup is very noble looking and is gorgeous.

pookiedoodlepuppy · 13/05/2023 19:23

Every lawn I've ever had has been wrecked , my fault for always having bitches 🐶

Riverlee · 13/05/2023 20:34

RiverPup is male.

Wrecked lawn.

(That’s a tracker not an e-collar)

BigBundleOfFluff · 13/05/2023 20:40

Awww @hennipenni, hennipup is beautiful. What breed is she?
On the lawn. Im religiously watering Fluffpup wee in, with lots of water. So far no new burnt patches. On the existing ones I'm trying 2 things. Grass seed - covered by webbing stretched over an old Guinea pig run to protect from birds and more wee. And also I have grown grass inside - I started when it was too cold outside. A thin layer of soil in a kitten litter tray with more grass seed. I then wait til it's roots are tightly knitted and transfer it outside.
Watering in does work - I now have 5 watering cans dotted round the place.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/05/2023 20:47

FluffyPup sees watering cans as targets and attacks the damn things. Ditto the hosepipe!

Our lawn looks far worse than yours, @Riverlee. 😳 Hopefully we can sort it with this new grass seed and he starts cocking his leg soon!

@hennipenni, gorgeous pup! 😍

pookiedoodlepuppy · 13/05/2023 20:50

I don't know how much truth there is in this but apparently you can stop the burnt patches on the lawn by adding tomato juice to your dogs diet , can't remember if I vaguely tried this before , there were so many burnt patches that it seemed impossible to work out if it worked or not .😁

hennipenni · 13/05/2023 20:59

@BigBundleOfFluff She’s a flat coated retriever, currently asleep at my husbands feet, as far away from her crate as possible!

@Riverlee Thankyou, my daughter took it. She always gets them looking like that!

id forgotten female wee ruins grass, watering cans at the ready!

BigBundleOfFluff · 13/05/2023 21:17

@hennipenni !!!! I thought so. That's my next dog, fortunately my vet's receptionist breeds them. Her 4 flatties are the loveliest souls.

Riverlee · 13/05/2023 21:28

@hennipenni I thought she was a spaniel!

elm26 · 13/05/2023 21:34

I don't have a puppy (my puppy is 8 this year ☹️) but I'm 38 weeks pregnant and trying to boost oxytocin to bring on labour so I looked at every photo on this thread and my heart could burst 😂 beautiful dogs ♥️

PastaPup · 13/05/2023 21:39

All the puppies are adorable!!! 4 weeks and my boy will be home, I can’t wait.
