Can we have a mongrel thread?? A proper mixed ddog?? Not a make believe new fangled 'breed' created to get a bit of this and a bit of that!!
I want to see MONGRELS!!
Like back in the day when you could never figure how what you actually owned!! Obviously no random caught in a garden mixes now but there must be some tatty unknown Smelly Bills out there!!
I actually have a ddog that is 3 breeds and the breeder was quite specific in her description.. But surely 3 breeds =mongrel right?

Look at all these handsome doggos

My Romania street dog. Hard to see here but he's got a bit of malinois about him in the chest and face, is smart and picks up commands easily, but is also a determined little bugger and wants his own way, so that fits!!

Teddy is a Rommie. This photo is from when we got him 5 years ago. We have had him DNA tested and he's too mixed for them to even guess what breed he is. He's the size of a cocker for reference. We adore him.

Oh thank goodness! Sometimes I wonder if I am a lone voice. My neighbourhood is full of cavapoos, cockerpoos, somethingjugs etc. Makes me feel so sad for the puppy farm bitches.

Cypriot rescue here, survived poisoning and 24hrs, seven days a week on a chain. The most loyal, gentle, clever dog.

We tried to get him DNA tested but he ate the swab when we tried to put it in his mouth 😂

This, coupled with the look on his face in the photo has me cackling!

Absolutely loving seeing these beautiful doggos. Gorgeous, all of them.

The black boy is Bonzo. He belonged to my parents but when Dad died we took more responsibility for him and he has been with us full time for the past two and a half years. He is 25% poodle, 25% labrador, 50% golden retriever. He is 11 years old and acts like a pup. Loves people and is very needy, wanting cuddles and affection.

The brown one is Toffee. The vet thought she was part staffie, part collie. We had her free to a good home from an ad in the local paper and she was the sweetest thing.

This is a Ferdy. He is red and lanky and a bit thick.

Ah loving all the blonde Rommies! They do seem to have a lot of similar looking mutts roaming the streets.

She's a special girl. With more chins than me.

Molly, our rommie rescue - she is wonderful.

Here we have Ben who we lost to liver cancer aged 12 in January - still broken tbh. He was a one in a million dog - bombproof loved everything and everyone ❤️Miss him every day. Rescue pup from dogs trust - border collie mum - but def some staffy in there - what a boy!!

And also here is Rosie - rommie rescue pup aged 6 months god knows what’s in there!! Learning to be a good girl with funny quirks and lots of nerves bless her!

Bit of a vent but does anyone get so furious with people posting for miniature daschound, cavapoo, insert trendy dog name here? No intelligence to consider puppy farms, breeders or rescues. Always start their post with bullshit ‘I tried so hard to rescue but now I need a French bulldog’ crap.

Surely the so-called mongrels existed before the breeds? The breeds were selected out of them.

PS He is a rescue of unknown background, picked up wandering lost. He is adorable.

Archer looks decidedly rottyish also!!

He was a street dog in Andalusia who hitched a ride with a bunch of pound galgos to a local rescue. He was supposed to be our ‘overlap’ dog as we thought our old rescue girl would pass leaving our young rescue lad bereft. Except she’s still going strong… so 3 dogs it is then!

Years ago we had a dog no idea what she was and she got pregnant by a very determined heinz 57 dog while we were waiting for her heat to subside so we could have her done the puppies she had! Tall ones short ones fat and thin no two pups were alike! It was amazing!

We think he is at least part Romanian mioritic sheep dog. That's what Petplan classified him as too just based on how he looks. I can only hope that whatever he is crossed with is a bit smaller....
