I mean, I absolutely love and adore my dog so much, I'm not sure it's normal or right to love a dog this much. I don't go anywhere without him, and I know he adores me too.

I took him to the vet today, I was worrying about nothing, but then got thinking omg, what will I do when the time comes. the thought of it is just horrendous.

Is it just me who feels this deeply about their dog?

I love him so much it brings tears to my eyes.

Yes I realise this is overboard but I can't help myself.

I just lie here with him and sniff his chops.

Mrsjayy · 22/04/2015 19:25

Gymbob · 22/04/2015 20:38

I usually love the smell of ears but he's still fighting an ear infection (he had it when we adopted him) so they're a bit pongy.

His paws smell like biscuits though!

I love mine so much I feel guilty that I can't seem to love them more. I feel like each day I'm trying to up my game, make their lives better.

GraysAnalogy · 22/04/2015 21:47

I want to know what makes them smell so good to us gym, because I have a sneaky suspicion they're a bit pissy too the paws but I smell biscuits so...

Happiness that's so lovely Flowers

I loved my old girl so much. Even now 8 years on I can recall her smell. She was so good . I miss lying with her, she always had a paw on me in case I got up.

Love this thread!

CrabbyCocker is a noisy, demanding, greedy, neurotic, lazy thieving twat of a dog. But by god we adore her. Grin

Here she is with the remains of the Thorntons 70% chocolate selection that my mum bought me for Easter. Idiot that I am, I forgot that they were at the bottom of a bag of stuff I bought home and left on the kitchen table. You can guess what happened next. Hmm Not quite as expensive as last time she did something similar, at least. Hmm

PUGaLUGS · 22/04/2015 22:07

Not just you! I adore mine too. LOVE her to bits.

Little monkey his afternoon sat at the top of the stairs, when I went up show rolled straight on her back for tummy time and raspberries...

PUGaLUGS · 22/04/2015 22:11

at sniffing chops Grays!

I just kiss mine constantly. Even when my parents look after her and my mum and dad were so not dog people before we got her admit to every time they pass her they give her a kiss. She even gets first choice of where she wants to sit at their house too!

SenecaFalls · 22/04/2015 22:13

I love our girl. She'll be 11 this summer and is now starting to show her age. The old dog stage can be wonderful, but just too short. Sad

Lest you think that my harsh words reflect on my love for aforementioned numpty dog (as I realised that everyone else is writing very moving things about their dogs and I referred to mine as a twat Blush), I'd like to point out that she's currently occupying most of DP's pillow. He's shuffled obediently into the far corner to make room for her and she's resting her head on my shoulder. Grin

SenecaFalls · 22/04/2015 22:17

Ours sleeps lengthwise between us with her head on DH's pillow and her butt on mine. Grin

fieldfare · 22/04/2015 22:18

Mine is my fur baby. Although he has cheesey paws for some reason and is in need of a bath. He's 7, has 3 legs with metal in them so is a bit creaky and I have to lift all 35kgs of him into the car now as he is worried about jumping and slipping.
He gets the hump if I forget to shut the curtains in the lounge so the sunlight wakes him up too early. And is currently snuggled up to me on the sofa. I adore him.

What a fab thread. Love sossidge's post!

I'm desperate for a dog but we both work full-time :(

Do you all work part-time? Does anyone make it work while working FT?

We have two cats and my eldest is definitely my soul mate. Our bond is so strong Blush - I understand every purr, miaow, look... They make our days infinitely better.

GraysAnalogy · 22/04/2015 22:26

I work 14 hr shifts patience but get more days off so it's not too bad, my mum babysits for him when me and my partner are both at work.

I know people who have made it work by rescuing dogs who are used to being alone for longer periods of time and don't suffer from seperation anxiety. Especially dogs who have been in dogs homes for a long time and it's better them going to a home who can love them and care for them instead of spending another year in a dog home.

patienceisvirtuous · 22/04/2015 22:31

Yeah Gray's. We should maybe start looking into it.

We're both massive animal lovers and the dog would be doted on - it's just tge separation thing. 8-4 each day, we're out :/

I'm trying to talk my parents into a dog share :) They both retired recently and they're not dead against it.

patienceisvirtuous · 22/04/2015 22:32

Oops sorry for the rogue apostrophe!

Gymbob · 22/04/2015 22:32
