New 4 part drama. On weekly on ch 5 which means usually has to be tv pace

Gives evil cackle so no one can binge 😂😂😛😛

In The Inheritance, three siblings embark on a dangerous journey to discover whether their father was murdered.

Larry Lamb plays their dad Dennis who dies unexpectedly, and afterwards the grieving siblings learn they weren’t left the inheritance they'd all been banking on.

The revelation sees the family fall apart at the seams, exposing long-buried secrets, jealousies and lies and poses the question whether blood really is thicker than water.

The Inheritance follows siblings Daniel (Robert James-Collier), Sian (Gaynor Faye) and Chloe (Jemima Rooper) who are part of a seemingly close and loving family.

The trio are left reeling after the sudden death of their father, Dennis (Larry Lamb) and are later devastated to discover they have not been left their expected inheritance in his will.

This leads them to question whether he really did die in an accident, as they were told, or if he was murdered. Their investigation takes them down a dangerous path and sees secrets unravel, relationships ripped apart and lives lost.

I've finally got around to watching and pardon the pun for the house burning down, but that episode was a really damp squib imo.

lazymum99 · 26/09/2023 22:19

You can’t just put your child into care because your life is messy with an affair etc. and she couldn’t have been a young teenage mum she is about 60 at least and he couldn’t be much more than 30. Really lazy plot. If your dads closest friend had a son similar in age to you surely you would know about it

Yes, the adoption plot Iine does not make sense, totally unbelievable.

Absolutely agree!

"What kind of mother gives her child away?"

Well what kind of bloody father also does?

I thought it might have made more sense if he was the child of Susan & Dennis as teens or their child that she couldn't cope with alone as Dennis decide to marry someone else.

Why did everyone hate Pete?

Bloody Chloe "but he's faaammillly" (Re Dan)!

butterpuffed · 27/09/2023 13:48

Well , that was all a bit rushed and it felt like someone was making up the ending as they didn't know what to do !

Motnight · 27/09/2023 21:10

That was a disappointing end. Even the last scene looked rushed.

And did I miss the fire brigade arriving?

duc748 · 27/09/2023 21:16

The director told them to wait round the corner whilst he shot that last scene of them all staring meaningfully at the blaze.

purpleme12 · 27/09/2023 21:32

🤣🤣

Tigresswoods · 27/09/2023 21:55

AIBU to think if you get Kevin whateley in he should play a significantly bigger part!

I think that he disguised himself so fewer people would recognise him to be honest 😬

SueDonnym · 28/09/2023 06:33

I feel they could have skipped Jemima Rooper and her expressionless face and odd pout and Pete entirely. Somehow they both seemed to be playing the wrong parts unconvincingly. But other actors were v good imv.

I enjoyed it but possibly crammed too much info into just 4 episodes.

MarigoldMaud · 28/09/2023 09:22

No fire brigade but somehow the police turned up with no one calling them 🤷‍♀️

Timeforachange67 · 28/09/2023 15:24

I was confused why the fire brigade weren’t there too 🤷🏻‍♀️
I enjoyed the series, I’d worked out Nathan was James but did have to rewind to find out who is parents were! But the ending just fizzled out - disappointing

Didn't Glenn call them? Or one of the siblings as soon as Glenn had untied them?

pigsDOfly · 06/10/2023 19:58

Finally caught up with the final episode yesterday evening.

It felt very much that the writers had been sitting around wondering how to end it and just thought, sod it, no one'll care if it's fudged and rushed.

The whole plot was bit holey tbh but the ending was just dire.

iwantavuvezela · 06/10/2023 20:32

gosh, that dragged for me - thank goodness only 4 episodes and not more
