New 4 part drama. On weekly on ch 5 which means usually has to be tv pace

Gives evil cackle so no one can binge 😂😂😛😛

In The Inheritance, three siblings embark on a dangerous journey to discover whether their father was murdered.

Larry Lamb plays their dad Dennis who dies unexpectedly, and afterwards the grieving siblings learn they weren’t left the inheritance they'd all been banking on.

The revelation sees the family fall apart at the seams, exposing long-buried secrets, jealousies and lies and poses the question whether blood really is thicker than water.

The Inheritance follows siblings Daniel (Robert James-Collier), Sian (Gaynor Faye) and Chloe (Jemima Rooper) who are part of a seemingly close and loving family.

The trio are left reeling after the sudden death of their father, Dennis (Larry Lamb) and are later devastated to discover they have not been left their expected inheritance in his will.

This leads them to question whether he really did die in an accident, as they were told, or if he was murdered. Their investigation takes them down a dangerous path and sees secrets unravel, relationships ripped apart and lives lost.

Checking in I'm beyond excited😆

I wonder what Larry Lamb earned for his role so far?

Saying this not knowing if there are going to be flashbacks a plenty.

derxa · 04/09/2023 21:12

Such a starry cast. Ch5 are upping their game

ZosieTatien · 04/09/2023 21:16

OMG It's Mrs Doyle

daffodilandtulip · 04/09/2023 21:30

Missing the point but that house looks more like a new build, than the house they grew up in.

determinedtomakethiswork · 04/09/2023 21:47

Did anyone notice when the son was calling his dad when he was still alive, someone passed the dad a glass?

Yes we thought that too!

martinisforeveryone · 04/09/2023 21:55

The house looks very 80s style to me. There were several where I used to live like this. The interior fittings don't seem to go with the outside architecture, but they look mid to late 80s too.

tennissquare · 04/09/2023 21:59

Do you think they have aged Samantha Bond to look older than her actual age (62)?

newnamethanks · 04/09/2023 22:02

Well that was surprisingly good from c5. And weekly too. Hurrah.

Chocolatecoveredshitpig · 04/09/2023 22:07

My money was initially on Kevin Whateley, but I've reconsidered and think that's too obvious. So I'm going to predict it was something to do with the youngest daughter, she seemed shifty and she'd obviously met the new wife before

Thank you! I couldn't place where I knew her from!

confusedlots · 04/09/2023 22:18

Oh I really enjoyed that, right up my street! I think there will be a few twists and turns involving Sian, she seemed the least shifty one in the first episode.

SoosanCarter · 04/09/2023 22:50

Really enjoyed it. But we need Vera on the case!

familyissues12345 · 04/09/2023 23:20

Think it's going to be a good one! Just wish it was loaded on to binge watch, or on every day this week

Doingtheboxerbeat · 04/09/2023 23:22

I thought the lack of sympathy displayed towards the family by 'Mrs Doyle', the neighbour, the lawyer and the new wife made it seem a bit unrealistic - they all seemed bit cold and very angry.

Pinktops · 04/09/2023 23:28

@Blondeshavemorefun thank you

AnyFucker · 05/09/2023 00:04

That was quite watchable. I quite fancy the brother. He has a very strong Manchester accent though when his sisters have not. There are lots of familiar faces too.

daffodilandtulip · 05/09/2023 06:59

Was there a teeny snippet of the son finding a bioethanol bottle in the garage ... did he know it was there, or was he hiding it? Could it actually be him?
It's an interesting storyline though. I like it.

My sister has a very very local accent, whereas people always ask me where I'm from. The same with my son and daughter, so it is plausible.

determinedtomakethiswork · 05/09/2023 07:05

One thing they didn't say was how far away the dad lived and how often the adult children saw him. I felt it was very unrealistic that the son hadn't met his dad's best friend for so many years, since he was a little boy! He did know where he lived, though.

How long has it been since the mother died? Were they saying that the dad had been seeing the woman while he was still married? If so, did his wife know?

lazymum99 · 05/09/2023 08:23

Surprisingly good for channel 5. I would have binged if available. Great cast
