I thought it would be high time to get the TARDIS party going, now we're on a countdown. Has anyone else seen the clip from the first episode yet? Looking like good fun. I might even be persuaded to squee.

what did you think of dead bob?

Nymphadora · 24/04/2010 19:52

I think Amy is a bit naive/feels invincible?

That was fab episode & v scary.Did anyone see confidential? Angels still scary on that!

Wondered with RS & Amy whether they will meet again in Rivers past as she seemed to know Amy but didn't know Donna.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/04/2010 19:52

oh shit spoiler space thing didnt work. sorry people.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/04/2010 19:53

I think Amy is very trusting.
not sure why!

ShadeofViolet · 24/04/2010 20:03

Fab episode - this is what we have been waiting for!

KayHarker · 24/04/2010 20:12

Awesome stuff, real mythology building and some cracking one liners. After last week my faith has been restored.

The dead Bob thing was clever & I commented on the Angel killing rather than sending them back in time so was glad when the Dr noticed too.

Loved the bickering between RS & the Dr & Amy trying to get the gossip!

aloevera · 24/04/2010 20:40

Loved it! So good to see the RS story line develop. And a bit of a twist too. Not sure what to make of that prison stuff. Now I'm wondering if she is quite as trustworthy as I originally thought?

AP was great in this one. I agree that she does seem a little bit too fearless, but that has been the case right from when he met her as a child. Is it just the character? Or is there something more to it?? No idea. And no more info on why she doesn't know of the daleks .

MS seemed to really get into his stride as the doctor. I thought no one could replace DT, but I was completely wrong! I love how he's playing it, I even hate the outfit but it all seems ok on him!

thegrowlygus · 24/04/2010 22:02

The angels still terrify me.
But was delighted with the comment that the tardis only makes that noise because the doctor has the handbrake on!

JackieNo · 24/04/2010 22:07

That was fantastic! Loved 'Angel Bob', and the noise of the Tardis.

DH noticed, in one of the shots of the interior of the shuttle, just after they'd 'rescued' Amy, there was a helmet the same as they wore in the 'Silence in the Library' episode.

DD's already scared me by lurking outside the bedroom door in 'weeping angel' pose .

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 24/04/2010 22:09

And the sulky "I like the noise..."

oenophilia · 24/04/2010 22:32

Took best part of an hour to calm down DT1 after DT2, on leaving the room, turned round with a phenomenally accurate about-to-pounce-angel pose.

pinkteddy · 24/04/2010 22:51

Back on form this week. Dr and RS getting a bit like 'time travellers wife' but still loving it.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 24/04/2010 22:53

The Weeping Angels is just about my favourite DW episode of all time, and I am really looking forward to next week. I didn't see the trailer for next week - I'd completely forgotten that it was going to happen, and zapped it as the credits rolled. Not sure if this makes me very dim or very clever - suspect the former!

Kaloki · 24/04/2010 22:59

I loved this episode! I honestly yelled "Noooooo" all dramtic film style at the end. Honestly, I was kneeling on the floor sat on the sofa fists raised to the heavens not doing much.

Can't wait till next week.

midlandsmumof4 · 25/04/2010 01:18

Wonderful,..........Loved the Weeping angels with DT. This is a brilliant follow-up. Still trying to work out his relationship with Riversong tho'.???????

Nymphadora · 25/04/2010 08:08

SM said it's meant yo be a mystery. Anyone watch confidential? It was quite bitty but had some good stuff re RS.

JackieNo · 25/04/2010 10:34

Kaloki - I yelled 'Nooo' when it ended too!

MilkNoSugarPlease · 25/04/2010 10:49

Having missed the first lot of weeping angels with DT, could some explain what they are, who is RS and what do the angels DO?!

They were scary anyhow!

EggyAllenPoe · 25/04/2010 10:56

oooh that was scary!!

i woke up in the middle of the night terrified...
classic Dr Who. - where was the Zero in this one? or is there none? is it because of the crack in space/time in her house she can't remmber the daleks....(as was hinted at the end of the Keep Buggering on episode?)

loved the banter with RS. Loved her shoes.

can't wait for next week! Damn you BBC!

Damnnnnnn Yooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu........

MadameOvary · 25/04/2010 11:01

The Bob thing was good but the edge was taken off by the fact that SM had already done similar in the Library episodes (which is my all-time fave btw)
Anyone else disappointed by this?
It was scary though, and RS looks like she's really enjoying herself

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 25/04/2010 11:05

The weeping angels are stone when they are being observed; this makes them more-or-less indestructible. They are only living creatures when they are not being observed. If one touches you you are sent permanently back in time a predetermined number of years and it feeds off the potential energy of the life you would otherwise have lived (except that this one appears to be into snapping necks instead). It's really worth watching "Blink" if you get a chance -- it stands up very well in its own right as it only features the Doctor in a walk-on part and centres around someone who doesn't know anything about all this stuff.

River Song we don't know. She is someone who the Doctor repeatedly encounters, but from his point of view they encounter each other in a completely different order than from her point of view. She's only been on screen once before, in the double episode with the Library. That was the first time (from the Doctor's point of view) that he'd met her, but the last time (from her point of view) that she met him as she died at the end (although a version of her lived on inside a supercomputer). She also knows the Doctor's real name (she told him in order to prove to the Doctor she met in the Library that he would come to know and trust her in his future) and the Doctor said then "The only time I would ever tell someone my real name is..." [tailing off at the end] so there's been a lot of Internet speculation that she's his future wife, and SM is clearly playing around with audience expectations on that point. The Doctor feels quite guilty that he couldn't save her in the Library, but he can't tell her what's coming; each of them knows a lot about the future of the other but can't say anything because of "spoilers".

serenity · 25/04/2010 11:12

That was scary.

DS1 loathes the angels and refuses to rewatch Blink, and walked out of this one (I think he was watching through the door hinge) DH and DD haven't seen it yet, thanks to MIL and her insistence on having a BBQ every bloody weekend. It's repeated on BBC3 though iirc? So, we'll get to watch again tonight.

And, yes her shoes are gorgeous. I want them, and I never wear heels.

mummyofexcitedprincesses · 25/04/2010 11:20

DD was in our bed in the middle of the night because she had a scary dream about the weeping angels. Part of me thinks that was just an excuse, but it was fab and scary.
