Channel 4 tonight, featuring a lovely young couple from our village.

I appreciate that, I just think the other midwife phrased it a lot better and was encouraging rather than getting cross with her.

Also I was suprised that she cut the cord before the baby was breathing?

Slartybartfast · 10/02/2010 14:24

disucssin him on a local radio station?

how appalling, he is a real life person, not some made up actor/celebrity.

the comments on here were bad enough and if she was a mnetter or thinks about becomign one, poor cow woman

anyway, i agree, wasnt lisa lovely

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/02/2010 14:27

fair game if he was prepared to be on the programme in the first place, especially if acting like a dork.

Sidge · 10/02/2010 14:30

The Breakfast Show presenters were discussing last nights telly and were just chatting about how good the prog was, but how he came across as unsupportive and was mucking about. Pretty much as everyone on here has been discussing.

Nothing slanderous!

Slartybartfast · 10/02/2010 14:42

i just feel sorry for the bloke.
i can't imagine my dh coming across as particularly supportive, but i would hate him to be the subject of a www disucssion

Missus84 · 10/02/2010 15:33

If you don't want to be discussed by strangers don't go on TV!

MorrisZapp · 10/02/2010 16:21

Anybody appearing on telly must be aware that they will be discussed online.

The thing is, that Steve guy looked quite pleased with himself. It's hard to say based on such a small snapshot of his behaviour, but I thought he looked quite chuffed to get to be 'Mr Hilarious' for the telly.

He probably had no idea that in fact his behaviour made him look like a twat.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 10/02/2010 18:02

Oh gosh what she said about 'all over facebook with tubes everywhere'

my friends son was in SCBU for three weeks and it destroyed her ewlationship with her sister when she put pics of him on facebook.

She wanted to be the one to post them first, and she says she felt ashamed of the tubes.

WorzselMummage · 10/02/2010 18:10

She was ashamed of them ?

NotAnOtter · 10/02/2010 21:10

morriszap dp and i were wagering she would not get one

i have asked twice and not been given

by dc5 i SCREAMED 'i don not want gas and air i want an epidural' and i got one and the elderly ( and amazing) midwife said to me later ' you've been cheap so far "

shocking

MorrisZapp · 10/02/2010 21:17

That is shocking. I'd scream the damn place down!

NotAnOtter · 10/02/2010 21:25

i remember saying with dc3 -' if you won't give me one at least take the damn machine away from my eye level'

they didn't do either and i screamed for another couple of hours whilst staring at a machine with a hand written sticker that said 'epidural'

BelleDameSansMerci · 11/02/2010 10:46

All these experiences are making me realise how lucky I was. Then they closed the maternity unit I went too. Obviously was too bloody good or something!

BelleDameSansMerci · 11/02/2010 10:47

Er, "went to" obviously. Just had nails done for first time in three years and can no longer type.

How much of a KNOB is that bloke Steve? I should have rammed the fecking glove in his mouth and choked him with it, and probably glassed him as well for good measure.
Jaysus!
Shall we take bets on how long their relationship will last or would that be cruel?
Otherwise, it was a ace prog. I have been watching the videos on the website for a few days before it aired I love a good birth!

cheerfulvicky · 12/02/2010 16:19

err, 'would' have - not should have!

Who's watching this?

Meglet · 16/02/2010 21:01

I'm here....

please don't let there be anyone like steve this week.

Wonderstuff · 16/02/2010 21:02

I love this - though can you imagine giving birth in a ward with 40 cameras?

spilttheteaagain · 16/02/2010 21:03

might get performance anxiety!

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 16/02/2010 21:05

Sam and Ed are going to be the annoying couple I think.

sailorsgal · 16/02/2010 21:06

Poor Ed.

spilttheteaagain · 16/02/2010 21:06

maybe but at least he's kindly rubbing her back
