So... which kids TV show drives you the most insane?!

For me it's numberjacks. I hate it with a passion, and always scramble for the remote whilst desperately trying to distract LO (so she wont notice I've changed the channel, or "shangychanol" as she puts it) before it's tragically lame intro music starts...

And while I'm on the subject, why oh why are the characters in kids TV shows so alarmingly freakish?! Why do those odd things in Waybaloo have hardly any nose? And massive heads?? Why can't they just look normal and cute?! And why does dirt girl have an actors eyes, an animated head and a person in a costume for a body?!!

Am I alone in my "going-slightly-insane-spending-all-day-on-my-own-with-a-toddler" madness here?!

Show me, Show me. I really don't get it.

merrycompo · 16/12/2009 14:09

Thomas, so dull

HeadlessLadyH · 16/12/2009 14:10

Its Dora and her annoying brother Diego. Do they have to SHOUT ALL THE TIME??

scary you are not alone.

Iklboodolphtherednosereindeer · 16/12/2009 14:11

Thomas
Numberjacks
The Marvellous Misadventures of Flapjack
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy

I thought nothing could be worse than Lazytown, but then they came up with Lazytown Extra - oh, the pain.

I also sing 'We hate Clifford the Big Red Dog' every time that one is on.

Dds have decided to jump ship to CBBC now though, as CBeebies is much too babyish for a four year old . I'll have a whole new list of annoying programmes soon.

bumpybecky · 16/12/2009 14:13

Horrid Henry

StretchAndBitsOfTinsel · 16/12/2009 14:13

Imagination movers Bleeding annoying!!

BunnyLebowski · 16/12/2009 14:13

It would be quicker for me to name the ones that don't drive me mental!

I absolutely hate

Chuggington
Tweenies
DirtGirl
Louie
Clifford the Dog
Pinky Dinky Do
Thomas the Tank Engine
Noddy

The only shows I like are

Kerwhizz
Something Special
Gigglebiz
Little Princess

HeadlessLadyH · 16/12/2009 14:14

And I could also cheerfully smack Big Cook and his twatty friend, Little Cook in the face.

Adair · 16/12/2009 14:14

Green BaLLoon club

I quite like Clifford, though dd sings 'the big red poo' for some reason (well, she is 3 )

GypsyMoth · 16/12/2009 14:15

suite life of Zack and bleeding Cody!!!!

HeadlessLadyH · 16/12/2009 14:16

We have just discovered Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom on Nick Jnr. Lovely. No, honestly it is!!

But then it is followed by Max and Ruby. Ruby needs a contract taking out on her.

I think I spend far too much time watching this stuff.

meemar · 16/12/2009 14:18

I am thankful every day that they have taken Space Pirates off air

Tikkabillajive · 16/12/2009 14:19

Carrie and David's Popshop. Oh. My. God.

And all the crappy ones they bung on at the weekends like Finley the Fire Engine and Pinky Dinky Doo.

On the other hand I love Charlie and Lola, Show Me Show Me, Peppa Pig and anything with Justin in.

UnquietDad · 16/12/2009 14:19

Thankfully past this stage now and on to MI High, Raven and Sarah Jane, all of which are pretty good!

Tikkabillajive · 16/12/2009 14:20

Oh god I had totally forgotten about Space Pirates. Just dreadful!

BunnyLebowski · 16/12/2009 14:20

Oh you have got to be kidding me about Space Pirates??!!!

It was the best thing on Cbeebies!

CatIsSleepy · 16/12/2009 14:21

DirtGirlWorld

freaky freaky freaky

HopingForChristmasSexOnFire · 16/12/2009 14:22

Tweenies- I could assasinate them all, including the dogs. Thought I'd managed to leave it behind as DD is 9 but no, I had to go and have another child.

bintofbohemia · 16/12/2009 14:22

Carrie and David - that bastard "is it this or is it that" song comes on, usually when I'm trying to get the kids ready to leave the house or something and it's so fricking agitating it makes me want to commit murder.

Otherwise anything with Justin Man-Baby Fletcher in, I have ranted about him muchly in the past, he freaks me out.

meemar · 16/12/2009 14:24

No way! Space Pirates was too long - 30 minutes and they only made about 6 episodes which they kept repeating over, and over and over...........

Yes dirtgirlworld. I started a thread about this. It's just unwatchable for me

Tikkabillajive · 16/12/2009 14:25

Oh no - don't be mean about Justin. I think he is quite possibly the kindest man in the world. Although I think I'm one of the few people who finds gigglebiz genuinely hilarious.

scaryhairycat · 16/12/2009 14:28

LOL! Nice to know I'm not alone on this one!

And as for Thomas The smug-faced-tw@t-coz-I-make-loadza-money-from-hidiously-expensive-toy-trains Tank Engine; don't get me started on that one!! THANK GOD my ds is now 10 and has long since grown out of that stuff!! He even made me take him to see the big steam trains of them! Eugghhh!!!

bluebump · 16/12/2009 14:29

Oh yes Numberjacks. That and Green Balloon Club, but as DP likes that he goes on telly watching duty then, hoping to see Bill Oddie I think (who I hate with a passion!)

Antdamm · 16/12/2009 14:29

I absolutely loathe all of the tripe on cbeebies. The shows are really simple and really stupid. I can't handle the cheesy presenters either.

I also cannot stand Dora and Diego. For no real reason other than they get on my blinking nerves.

I prefer DS to watch something that is halfway realistic. So fluffy dinosaurs or whatever they are that can talk, dance sing and solve problems - no. But Ben10 - boy who turns into an alien with help from his trusty watch -Ok

I also prefer for him to watch a show where he might actually learn something - I realised years ago that Cbeebies was not the place for that.
