So... which kids TV show drives you the most insane?!

For me it's numberjacks. I hate it with a passion, and always scramble for the remote whilst desperately trying to distract LO (so she wont notice I've changed the channel, or "shangychanol" as she puts it) before it's tragically lame intro music starts...

And while I'm on the subject, why oh why are the characters in kids TV shows so alarmingly freakish?! Why do those odd things in Waybaloo have hardly any nose? And massive heads?? Why can't they just look normal and cute?! And why does dirt girl have an actors eyes, an animated head and a person in a costume for a body?!!

Am I alone in my "going-slightly-insane-spending-all-day-on-my-own-with-a-toddler" madness here?!

God yes, Carrie and David's frigging Pop Shop. So bleeding annoying. I can't bear her hideous screechy voice.

Used to despise Big Cook Little Cook too until that horrific We Can Cook or whatever it's called appeared.

But my favourite programme is The Chuckle Brothers. Inspired

poinsettafleurs · 16/12/2009 14:32

Dora and Diego, even my kids won't watch them and they like any old rubbish on Nick Jr.

I absolutely love Waybuloo though, so gentle and soothing, luckily this is dd's favourite too.

The Tweenies. The only one who isn't a complete twat is the purple one.

Luckily ds shared my dislike and is now too old anyway.

I can't stand Horrid Henry, either. I hate the red-nosed drawing and all the grown-ups-pretending-to-be-kids voices.

scaryhairycat · 16/12/2009 14:37

YES YES YES Tikkabillajive re Carrie & David - for the love of God who let them get that show?!! (And I do too laugh at gigglebiz! ........but that's probably coz I've lost the plot by watching too much Cbeebies!!! )

HopingForChristmas I had a rude dream once about Big Cook and Little Cook

I ought to mention that Little was full-size.

Iklboodolphtherednosereindeer · 16/12/2009 14:42

Have you seen the Horrid Henry stage show? From what I can see the bloke playing him is about 35

MumOfAPickle · 16/12/2009 14:44

Can't stand:

Green Balloon Club (v.americanised)
Tweenies (what's worse is that DS makes me sing the theme tune in the car
Big Cook Little Cook
The Wiggles
Jakers

Love:

Pingu
Peppa Pig (well have slight PP fatigue tbh)
Space Pirates (can't believe the haters on here )
Charlie and Lola
Big Barn Farm

Bucharest · 16/12/2009 14:46

Granny Murray codswallopy thing.

The people on Lazytown give me the heebs and Little Cook makes me want to be sick.

scaryhairycat · 16/12/2009 14:49

The good thing about Waybuloo poinsettafleurs is watching my 22m dd trying precariously to copy the "yogo" moves, and then rather ungracefully falling arse over tit! Almost makes being freaked out by weird bug-eyed creatures worthwhile!

OP posts:
poinsettafleurs · 16/12/2009 14:56

Yes, I love watching dd do those moves, so sweet!

SleighBelleDameSansMerci · 16/12/2009 14:59

Dirtgirlworld is freaky and wrong.
Chuggington is just beyond dreadful and can you ever get the song out of your head?

Gigglebiz? No, no, no. Justin is just odd (Justodd?).

But worst, beyond all of these, is Big Cook, Little Cook. PMSL at Reindeerinaskoda...

scaryhairycat · 16/12/2009 15:22

Little cook is the dead spit of my old Technology/DT teacher....he used to bang his ruler on the desk to get our attention, (that's not a eufemism btw!!) it worked for about 2 seconds and then we just carried on talking/yelling/painting nails/applying makeup etc like he didn't exist! Obviously my old girls school made him shrink in size and pushed him over the edge to the grovelling depths of kids TV! (And appearing in Reindeerskoda's dodgy dreams!! Lol )

scaryhairycat · 16/12/2009 20:46

God I hate Chuggington, just when I thought Thomas the tank engine was not really being shown anymore, that abomination rears it's ugly head! Stupid crappy rubbishness!! Bluuegh!!

muggglewump · 16/12/2009 20:51

Raven. They're all crap and never get past way of the warrior and why do they make them have those stupid names?

I drive DD mad picking fault at everything in it.

Luckily she is too old for CBeebies as I hated everything on that.

deaddei · 16/12/2009 21:55

Wait till you get to ICarly, H20 and other American/Australian garbage my 13 year old watches.
If ever there was a case for humanely destroying preteen actresses.....

CybilServant · 16/12/2009 21:56

I loathe fucking hider in the house or whatever its called

TheCrackFox · 16/12/2009 22:03

Hider in the House is deeply sinister IMO.

Raven is crap, even the DCs hate it and thye aren't that fussy regarding TV.

FernieB · 17/12/2009 08:43

Saddle Club - original series' were awful with squeaky girls creating major dramas over nothing. New version is marginally less annoying but only cos the donkey is so cute!

Also hate ICarly, Hannah Montana, Zack and Cody, Sleepover Club (where did they get those girls?) and Wizards of Waverley Place.

Snorbs · 17/12/2009 09:26

The sodding Chuckle Brothers need to be set upon by wolves. I'm sure my DCs only want to watch it to annoy me.

RockBird · 17/12/2009 09:42

I Can Cook. Possibly you can but you can't fucking sing! AARRGGHH

And LazyShite

whatevermaycome · 17/12/2009 09:46

Nothing beats 'Me too' ....There was once a whole afternoon devoted to back to back 'Me too' on cebeebies ...I nearly lost the will to live...

Miggsie · 17/12/2009 09:47

dirtgirl world

I am awaiting the time she gets buried in her own compost heap...until then...

RockBird · 17/12/2009 09:49

Hang on, is Jess's barn Timmy's nursery? Are there some funding cuts at Cbeebies?

UnquietDad · 17/12/2009 10:05

Do they still do that programme where Chris reads stories in a silly voice and talks to that house with the scary face on the side - the one that looks like Thomas the Tank Engine's evil Mirror Universe twin?

I haven't been subjected to CBeebies since about 2007, so it's possible nobody may know what I am talking about.
