watch it on i player and it's repeated at about 11.00 on bbc 3

bronze · 09/07/2009 22:04

does anyone ever watch anything and feel really drained after. I do now. I think it's the dilemma in it and I always watch these things thinking what would I do which is why I wish I had never started with watching survivors

bea · 09/07/2009 22:04

naa! Jack can't go as he's the face of boe!

Dumbledoresgirl · 09/07/2009 22:05

Oh yes, face of Boe. But something has to start him off on the process of becoming a disembodied, wrinkled old head.

bea · 09/07/2009 22:06

lack of moisturiser in the future???

2shoes · 09/07/2009 22:06

I am not happy

AitchTwoOh · 09/07/2009 22:06

dh has just said that you can tell it's been written by a childless man, because if it was a question of our kids going and us living, we'd rather all take our chances against the virus.

bea · 09/07/2009 22:08

i love ianto's character... he was just finding his feet in the prog! so sad that he's gone! or do you think they can bring him back somehow?

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot · 09/07/2009 22:10

2shoes I actually threw up - big torchwood fan but what per cent of watchers I wonder have three kids in the bottom 10% as I do?

I know its not reality but god my head hurts and its really horrid- a fictional threat, not real at all but still all the physical results

Nightmares tonight no doubt

meridian · 09/07/2009 22:10
YohoAhoy · 09/07/2009 22:10

Ah, but don't forget Aitch - it's not 'us' making the decision, it's 'da Government'. Boo hiss.

Ianto

LoveBuckets · 09/07/2009 22:11

Why has nobody just shouted "DOCTOOOOOOOOR!!!!!" ? Usually works

bronze · 09/07/2009 22:11

not just me then peachy (and I dont think my kids are in their bottom 10%) I feel really odd now

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot · 09/07/2009 22:11

Ilike Ianto, comes from newport where we (almost) live apaprently (assumed rough estate was Alway estate here)

assuming 2shoes unhappy abouts ame as me probably isnt the same thugh sorry, head is hurting

ridiculous reaction on my behalf I know

JackieNo · 09/07/2009 22:13

. Wonder if it's planning for no more Torchwood too. I do hope not.

Dumbledoresgirl · 09/07/2009 22:14

Awww Peachy, Bronze. It is just fiction. I am sorry you feel upset by the plot but try to understand it is only fictional (and the people who made the decision were portrayed as baddies).

Tee2072 · 09/07/2009 22:18

All I can say is: F**cking Hell.

JackieNo · 09/07/2009 22:24

On a lighter note, can I just share with you something you may already know about, that I read somewhere else - when it's an exciting Captain Jack bit, there's a kind of theme music (the bit that goes Da da da, da da dadada DA DAAAA), which apparently is meant to sound like 'Here he comes on a ruddy great tractor' - I've now mentioned this to DH, and we piss ourselves laughing when it comes on - you just can't stop yourself hearing it . Apparently it's from this bit of the 'Countrycide' episode with the cannibals.

RTD has been listening to the dinner-party chatter of his friends - it's all a big metaphor for school admissions!!...

Well, I was on the right lines...

Katisha · 09/07/2009 22:27

Yes well given that the whole premise of Torchwood is that it is Doctor-based or at least inspired, it's a bit hopeless not having him about when billions of humans are being threatened.

Anyway, I thought it was a shame that Ianto died for no particular reason - they could have had him doing something useful while dying. And I thought the same about Clem - unless it becomes clearer tomorrow, his death hasn't got us any further forward plot-wise.

RTD's parallel between the government not wanting to hand over 10% children and yet writing off the ones who die from poverty and disease made me feel a bit cross - felt a bit lectured at in the way that Richard Curtis make me feel. IFSWIM...

Dumbledoresgirl · 09/07/2009 22:28

I have to admit dh and I exchanged smiles when she said that line "What else are school league tables for?" But I admit, it is not a sensitive subject for me.

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot · 09/07/2009 22:28

Dg of course I know its not fuiction, i understand, i'm sensitive not stupid

Katisha · 09/07/2009 22:29

Sorry can't get my acronyms right...
(ISIHAC...)

differentID · 09/07/2009 22:29
