I don't watch EE all the time, but I thought tonight's episode was very realistic. The way Whitney (?) has been brain-washed into believing it was love. Had me shuddering watching it.

I suspect the gravity of such a situation doesn't hit home fully mmediately. Your brain wouldn't be able to compute it fully as the thought would be so abhornet. Denial is a very common first reaction to many situations of great shock.

brilliant episode - patsy palmer was excellent. bianca's reaction was spot on imo

I guess when you're that shocked you just react with gut instinct, and that might be to lash out at Witney first. She did alright in the end though, she did call the police and she is trying to get Witney to see what's happened.

re: the rain, EE is filmed near me. for the last few weeks, we have had really heavey downpours, which have been soak you to the skin rain within seconds. i always liked to guess when episodes have been filmed by the weather in the outsidfe scenes. its always fun ny with it snows in april lol.

she's her step daughter - and you have to remember she was at first looking at her as a 16 year old who said she was sleeping with her boyfriend. It then came out that this had been going on over a period of years and she realised it was abuse.

MoreSpam, surely there would be some element of disbelief? Even in rl, as other posters have said, the initial thought would be denial? I know this is only fiction, but i think they did it well.
