I thought this started on 20th Sept. DH reckons he's seen a trailer saying it is tomorrow!

Does anyone know anything about this????

Is it just me or does anyone else think Camillia is just too skinny? She has got such thin legs!! Especially during that dance to Simply Red I thought her legs looked like little sticks, I prefer dancers who look like they have a bit of muscle tone and a few curves

bran · 12/10/2008 22:50

I don't think Lisa is as annoying as I feared, in fact most of the women are quite watchable and pleasant. The really annoying divas this year are some of the men.

Is it just me or does Andrew Castle seem to be trying to cop a feel a lot of the time? Most of the couples are quite cuddly or at least reasonable comfortable being up close to each other, but Ola often looks as though she's trying to put some distance between her and Andrew when they're not dancing.

I couldn't concentrate on anything that Lisa was saying yesterday after her dance as I was completely distracted by her unusually low hairline, she hardly has any forehead at all. Was it just her hairstyle? I don't remember noticing it before.

I had a bet on Jessie to go out tonight, so that's another fiver to shelter me against the credit crunch.

hotcrosswerebunny · 13/10/2008 09:42

I agree, I think Camilla seems to have lost a lot of weight. Was saying to dh that she didn't seem as happy this year - all teeth no flesh on her.

I felt quite sorry for Jessie. I thought some of the comments were needlessly harsh, particularly when you compare her to some of the previous competitors. She was nowhere near as bad as Fiona Phillips etc. Am so sad Darren is out too.

I like Andrew Castle. He is trying so so hard and just can't do it, but is getting better, and isn't that what makes this show so watchable? It would be really boring if they all started off brilliant dancers. Also slebs wouldn't want to participate if they needed to be a certain standard beforehand.

I like Christine, she seems very down to earth and fun. Not keen on Heather(reminds me of my old boss) or Lisa, who doesn't seem that sincere.

Freckle · 13/10/2008 09:46

Ballet arms is good. I meant that it looks as though she has studied other forms of dance, including ballet as her arms are very graceful and elegant (something which a lot of the other slebs - in previous series too - have struggled with).

I was a little taken aback by Arlene's comment that she has never seen James dance so tenderly with anyone, particularly as he has danced with his wife in front of her before.

JoolsToo · 13/10/2008 09:48

Camilla looks awful, I mentioned it when she did the jive in that tassled dress, her legs are far too skinny.

What did anyone think about the latin couple on the results show?

That bloke was AWFUL. If I was judging him I'd have scored him low. He didn't look like he was dancing with his partner, she was like an accessory to HIS act, I hardly noticed her. His gurning was repulsive. Terrible

bran · 13/10/2008 09:52

I thought that about Arlene's comment too Freckle, I bet Ola was a bit peeved. But perhaps Cherie had been giving James some acting tips and he will show more emotion when he's dancing with Ola in the future too.

Do you think if I'm very, very good in this life I can come back as Ola in the next life? She's got the most wonderful figure and she's married to James.

NomDePlume · 13/10/2008 10:43

Andrew Castle is slimy and makes my skin crawl.

I can't warm to Heather for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on it why.

I like Camilla in RL, she seems down to earth and like a nice girl. I'm not keen on her dancing style though.

Don't much rate the new NZ professional, forgotten her name now . Is it Hayley ?

I adored Cherie's rumba and Rachel's quickstepm, superb.

What was the weird tonguing thing that Ian tried at the end of his and jodies dance ?! . A bit much imo.

The group dance was not good.

I didn't like the samba couple on the results show either. It looked a bit frantic and rushed to me.

docket · 13/10/2008 10:47

NdeP, I agree with each and every one of your points. Especially the one about Andrew Castle who makes me feel violently ill every time he comes into view. Poor Ola

NomDePlume · 13/10/2008 10:53

Samba results show bloke lloked like a dancing oompa loompa to me

PTA · 13/10/2008 10:57

I think Camilla has taken lessons from Karen Hardy in the "gurning" department.

I like Karen on ITT but whenever she was dancing her facial expressions seemed a bit over the top to me. Camilla's dance last night just seemed to be the same, lots of mad, contorted facial expressions. And yes, she does seem to have lost a lot of weight.

NomDePlume · 13/10/2008 11:04

I just don't do karen, on the ITT sofa or on the dancefloor. Too hammy and fake.

Freckle · 13/10/2008 11:14

I don't think Camilla had much weight to lose in the first place. She's always been much slimmer than the other professionals (none of whom are exactly fat either).

Oblomov · 13/10/2008 11:29

I agree with Arlene. I thought the dance that James Jordan did with Cherre was very beautiful. Even more sensitive than his dances with Orla.

With hindsight, the dance didn't actually have that much 'content'. But I still thought that it was prob the most beasutiful dance I have seen on Strictly.
And Cherie ? My dh is smitten. So am I !! If I had her figure/grace/class/ everything. Oh... I tell you.

Freckle · 13/10/2008 11:35

I loved Cherie's daughter saying that her mum's dance was very sexy err no sensual, err, that's worse isn't it?? Clearly not used to seeing her mother as a sexual being.

NomDePlume · 13/10/2008 12:00

Are any of us entirely used to / comfortable with seeing our parents as sexual beings ?1

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 13/10/2008 12:07

I'm just hopeing they wheel on the Anton/Craig double act for ITT again. They were just great.

Freckle · 13/10/2008 12:11

Most of us, no. But Cherie is an actress who is well known for playing rather sensual roles, so one would have thought her daughter would be used to it. Perhaps she doesn't see her as playing a role here, more being herself.

jumpingbeans · 13/10/2008 12:12

How is Jodie hanging in?

bran · 13/10/2008 12:12

Who do we think to go out next week? It's much harder to call with both men and women together. I'm hoping Andrew Castle will go, but I think it's most likely to be Don.

Oblomov · 13/10/2008 12:14

Comfortable with sexual ? Most prob not. But she has always been quite sensual.

Plus, everyone is focusing on that. And yes, I know it was. But I also thought it was very delicate, sensitive, gentle, classy. No one is focusing on all those things, enough for my liking.

Oblomov · 13/10/2008 12:15

I am so glad that Jessie has gone. And Gary Rhodes. Jodie and Andrew Castle to go next. Surely ?

cyteen · 13/10/2008 12:30

That group dance was hilariously bad They all looked like they were pissing themselves, like embarrassed teenagers being forced to perform in a school show.

Cherie - wow! So elegant and such a great figure. Agree that she's not that likeable off the dancefloor, but by gum she's good when she gets on it. Mind you, she also had the best dress and the best music - love that song.

Rachel and Vincent as effervescently cute as last time.

Jodie patchy but not as bad as the judges made out - definitely worthy of a few more rounds!

Jessie inevitably awful.

Lisa and Brendan - elegant yes, but hard to warm to. I might like Lisa more if Brendan wasn't such an insufferable arse.

DownyEmerald · 13/10/2008 13:24

Only saw the results show, have to catch up if time. But I think, that once the boys and girls get together we should have a few weeks with boys going before we lose anymore girls - but I'm thinking about standard of dance here not who the audience saves!

I think Heather is probably great - she must be a strong character with what she has achieved but she doesn't do telly - she isn't so open about her emotions and "journey" - there's seems like no real story between her and Brian - they probably have a perfectly nice time - nothing to get our sympathy and empathy going.

Lots of 'I thinks' here

Boyswillbeboys · 13/10/2008 13:26

Poor old Jessie, felt sorry for her, especially as she has had her hair cut all Chicago-style - am sure she was hoping for a leading role after Strictly!!

Don't wish to be mean, but how come someone as slim and toned as Lisa Snowdon has got such a big double chin?

And I had to laugh at that comment Andrew made after the professionals danced - "don't they all look happy when they're not dancing with US?"

Nagapie · 13/10/2008 13:29

I hate this all 'I don't deserve to go', 'I worked so hard' - it belittles the work done by the other contestants and Jess just looked foolish and churlish ...
