I thought this started on 20th Sept. DH reckons he's seen a trailer saying it is tomorrow!

Does anyone know anything about this????

OP posts:
mrsbabookaloo · 29/09/2008 14:25

That's so funny Turniphead, about your third trimester, because SCD in 2005 was the ONLY thing that kept me going during my first trimester. You might think I'm exaggerating, but i was very sick and very drpressed and it was the only time I could really take my mind off it.

And then in the winter of 2006, It Takes Two was good for all the endless feeding!

MaggsS · 29/09/2008 14:26

So who else to replace Brucie then??

Please not Graham Norton. He drives me mad!

Turniphead1 · 29/09/2008 14:32

MrsBookaloo - you're so right. I can measure certain baby related things in what I was watching at the time. Feeding DC2 was saved by watching reruns of Thirtysomething on Skyplus. DC1 - Homes Under the Hammer for the 11 oclock feed.

That's the one thing I won't be upset about with DC3 - the excuse to put the tv on during the day again

cyteen · 29/09/2008 14:41

just watching the results show on iplayer as DS's bath time scuppered it last night. ola is such a fox, isn't she? lots of the female pros are strangely sexless, but she's got the fire also i love the new russian pro, with her gangster's moll stylings and sweet face.

agree the trio dance was painfully bad though. and yes, the sugababes have been shite ever since mutya left.

a bit mean to make gillian and tony dance their last to 'we've only just begun', don't you think?

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 29/09/2008 14:48

Snaf I love Orla too, she's feisty and sexy

i sooo would if i was looking for some female lovin' (she probably wouldn't though )

turquoise · 29/09/2008 15:30

Am I the only one who finds Tom with his upside down eyebrows and extreme smuggery intensely irritating?

He's so pleased with himself, I loathed him instantly in the first show when he said, pseudo self-deprecatingly: "People say I'm England's answer to George Clooney but I don't know about that, hahaha" with the most ENORMOUS thought bubble coming out of his head saying "Yah, I so, so AM!".

cyteen · 29/09/2008 15:33

You're not alone - he's a cock.

nigeltuffnell · 29/09/2008 15:38

YES Tom holby man very very irritating!
average looking, smug and cheesy. NOT sexy.
He will not not win!
I love John the best!

chutneymary · 29/09/2008 16:14

Of the pros, Darren is lovely but very short. I LURVE Matthew, but agree that the hair is a little scary. Ian reminds me of an ex (though not gay) and James is frightening. I do think Ola frequently looks as though she's swallowed a wasp, even when dancing with her husband.

Of the celebs, Mark Foster looks great but clearly can't dance for toffee. I'd have to put that to one side if he offered though . Holby man dreadful, ditto Andrew Castle and Gary. Am liking the older gentleman though - both Don and John seem very jolly, though neither is sexy alas.

Turnip, I am with you on the third trimester thing. I will have a newborn by the end of Nov all being well, so can indulge in the final run up with impunity. Have even got the DDs into ITT (though they like the dancing much better than the chat). Agree poor Gillian didn't really stand a chance in her tablecloth dress.

jsgirl · 29/09/2008 16:15

As far as the men are concerned, can't stand Tom. Or Gary (eeuuuwww). Not too keen on Austin either. John is a sweetie - loved his merengue! Andrew and latin don't mix well. Don seems really laid back - like him.

And then there's Mark. I love Mark - but I'm gutted that he can't dance particularly well. I will forgive him anything however because I've seen his copy of the David Beckham Armani poster. Sigh. I'm relieved he's doing a tango and not a jive.

And now confession time. On Saturday night I had a ? er how can I say this - dream about James Jordan. And me. Eek.

istinkhavingaboyoragirl · 29/09/2008 16:31

i like tom holby is one of my favourite shows.
want rachel to do well

Turniphead1 · 29/09/2008 17:05

Hi Chutney good to see you here! Strictly will get us through... Well done you getting your DD's into ITT. I tried with my DD (nearly 5) and although she loves the Sat night show there is too much chat for her and she gets bored. Her younger brother (nearly 3) is alas very forthright in his contempt for it all - he calls it "Strictly Comes Yukky"!

noddyholder · 29/09/2008 17:10

my younger brother is the double of the swimming bloke and has NO GIRLFRIEND! and he can dance too

Turniphead1 · 29/09/2008 17:24

Noddy what age is your brother please???? My sis is single, gorgeous and loves Mark Foster!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 29/09/2008 17:45

I don't get Mark. He may have a fit bod but he's soooo boring. And say what you like about Tom, but he does have a lovely bot.

I love John though, he and the Russian Moll are just fab together. As Andrew Marr said on his Sunday show - he's going to vote for him on principle.

I also take it back about Graham Norton, there are already enough of his nancies. So yes, lets go with Vernon instead, he soo loves the cheese.

squeaver · 29/09/2008 18:29

On the subject of hair, can I just say that Darren has the most wig-like hair I have ever seen!? Or maybe it is a wig?

noddyholder · 29/09/2008 19:40

38 but lives in ireland!

Turniphead1 · 29/09/2008 20:09

Noddy - you are joking - my sister is 34 and lives in.................IRELAND!! Belfast. Where is your bro?
(she also loves Strictly)

Turniphead1 · 29/09/2008 20:18

Noddy - have cat'd you.

pleasechange · 29/09/2008 20:52

Really don't see it with Ola - I prefer Lilia.

Rachael is good, but agree she has a bit of the dadies little princess look about her which is annoying. I like Heather as she seems really nice and has a good attitude

Brian is a great dancer and may be fanciable if it wasn't for the awful moustache! Brendan is fanciable when he dances but is a twat

TALLULAHBELLE · 29/09/2008 21:08

My friend got tickets for her parents to be in live audience but they are elderly & don't want to make the trip to London from Scotland. She thought she'd give me 1st refusal as she knows how much I love the show. BUT they're for 6 Dec by which time I'll be in week 35 of a twin pregnancy. So NOT FAIR, is just too risky. Wouldn't be allowed to fly & couldn't bear 6 hour train journey not to mention the possibility of going into labour on the show. Actually that'd be a story to tell.

And I LOVE Brendan. Weasel indeed! Pah!

Freckle · 29/09/2008 21:43

I think Jack Dee should replace Brucie. Can you imagine some of the comments??

FairLadyRantALot · 29/09/2008 21:53

allnew, Lillia is cute, you ar right.....but Ola is just so special....

I think , if Bruce would have to step down, Anton or Vernon would be good, but Anton might be that little bit better suited....Vernons accent just wouldn't be so good with SCD, sorry....it is a lovely accent, but just not right in the dancy way, lol...!

Dh just suggested that Len should take it over if Bruce leaves...

Len and Craig did a fab job when commentating for Eurovision Dance contest....

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 29/09/2008 22:02

Given it's the Beeb, they'd wheel out Angela Ripon for sure.

multitasker · 30/09/2008 09:57

I love Graham Norton - he can do prewatershed and I think he could ad lib a bit better than doddery Bruce. Yeah hes got a certain oldie charm but seriously its getting a bit embarassing him not looking at the right camera. I think Karen - who grates more and more each week - sees her rightful place as in Arlenes seat.
