I thought this started on 20th Sept. DH reckons he's seen a trailer saying it is tomorrow!

Does anyone know anything about this????

OP posts:

Oh I could talk about strictly all night.

QueenBhannae · 28/09/2008 22:44

now this is truely beautiful...

plus3 · 28/09/2008 22:48

God I wish I could dance!!!

bran · 28/09/2008 22:48

I wonder if Brendan is playing a bit of a mind game this series. He thinks he's onto a possible winner but doesn't want to start too strong as the audience vote often favours the underdog. Or is he just not bright enough to have a strategy?

I'm having real trouble telling the professionals apart this series, all the peroxide women look the same and I can only tell the difference between Matt and Ian when they are with their celebrity partners. Admittedly I'm not great with facial recognition, but I think that perhaps the make up and hair styles are more samey this series.

I'm also very disappointed that I don't fancy any of the male celebrities, not even Tom-of-the-pert-bum. In fact I think that Tom is shaping up to be even more self-consciously annoying than Lisa. I love John Sargent, but not in that way obviously.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 28/09/2008 22:49

Vincent and Flavia are just perfect.

unknownrebelbang · 28/09/2008 22:51

I really hope that John Sargeants lasts a few weeks.

He seems quite popular with everyone, and is just lovely.

bran · 28/09/2008 22:56

That new Russian with John Sargent (Christina/Kristina?) is fab isn't she? She's so wriggly and flexible (technical dance terms). When the 3 newbies were dancing tonight she made the Kiwi (Hayley?) seem positive flat footed by comparison.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 28/09/2008 22:58

And she seems like she's lovely in rl too.

She's very encouraging with John. So gentle.

bran · 28/09/2008 23:02

She is sweet isn't she? But at first glance she looks all hard-edged and brittle. She's so lovely to John, I think she deserves a potential winner next series.

QueenBhannae · 28/09/2008 23:11

I loved it when John admitted to 'bigging himself up' to her lol

fionaann · 28/09/2008 23:27

Great shame that Jessie is still in but glad Jodie was saved. She seemed genuinely moved that Gillian was leaving.

The Russian with John is lovely with him. I agree with Bran that Tom is very annoying - constantly mugging to the camera. Andrew Castle is very similar.

I also thought Brendan might be trying to get Lisa some sympathy by appearing to storm off like that. It makes a bit of a change as all of the couples seem to determined to bang on about how well they get on. Can't wait for the pressure to really kick in and for the cracks to start to show.

My favourite dance is the one Aleisha and Matt did to Crazy in Love - especially when Aleisha was wearing the white dress - made the dramatic opening all the more dramatic.

thumbwitch · 28/09/2008 23:36

oh bran, you're so right about the Kiwi - she just looked so heavy-footed in that trio dance.
Interesting line up this time, DH isn't sure he can stand it cos there aren't as many obvious no-hopers as before!

tribpot · 29/09/2008 08:02

I thought that trio dance was dreadful, "let's ROCK .. oh, hang on, we're ballroom dancers".

I'm having my usual Strictly problem at this time of the year that I have no idea who most of the 'celebrities' are, and finding it hard to care either. Brendan going off in a huff is just teeeedious, give it a rest, love, we've seen it all before.

Great to see Jill Halfpenny's jive though!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 29/09/2008 08:38

I have to agree with you all about 'Brucie'. Sack him. I feel so sorry for Tess who has to try to look as if he's not embarassing the hell out of both of them whilst pretending to enjoy his 'jokes'. Poor girl. Can you imagine Graham Norton instead? Now that would be priceless.

am pmsl @ TurkeyLurkey's increasing panic at not knowing who was in the dance-off

Anyone watching the new series of Dancing With The Stars on UKTV Gold? The costumes are sooooooo much nicer and the standard of dancing is higher.

Marina · 29/09/2008 10:35

Pleeease tell me why/when Brendan threw his toys out of the pram, I love to hear about things not going the conceited little ass's way
Is poor Jessie going to be this year's Kate, paraded out week after week for more mockery and sarcasm? It would have been kinder for her to have been in the dance-off and have done with it, Gillian Taylforth was a better dancer

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 29/09/2008 10:37

no no No don't all jump on the ' i hate Brucie' bandwagon

I luv 'im and it wouldn't be the same without him

and NO NO NO to bloody Graham Norton and his hilarious pornographic websites and oversized dildos

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/09/2008 10:38

I'm not really sure why Brendan threw a strop. I think he was more pissed off at the judges than Lisa, but who knows?!

Marina · 29/09/2008 10:38

Apparently Bruno and Craig are v. v. cross about Bruce and his "Nancy? That's the last thing we need on this show, another nancy" "joke". I don't think they'd be keen on the fabulous Graham somehow. Mr Norton would be overegging the pudding, surely?

Marina · 29/09/2008 10:39

Agree lurker. Graham not right for this gig at all. He is not a pre-watershed sort of guy

FairLadyRantALot · 29/09/2008 11:05

Graham Norton did present...."Srictly Dance Fever" really well though....

but well, Bruce is Bruce and whilst he is kinda embaressing, he is kinda TV royalty and brings a certain charm to it....in a weirdey sort of way, lol....

I think Brendan walked off because he was frustrated with how the dance went and was received by the judges. Didn't want to be angry on TV.

Don't think anyone has commented on that 'newbies' dance and what the girls were wearing. What is it with this year and the raunchy outfits??

Also, why did the boys do their dance again. I don't need to see a group dance twice.....blatant time filling. I'm sure the results show used to be 30 mins, not a full hour - much better. (And much better for me because dh only just puts up with Strictly and was mightily fed up last night that X factor and Strictly were both on for an hour each!).
