Dh has banned me from using the phrase 'wibbley wobbley timey wimey'

I might possibly have been overusing it a tad in RL (but it's just so handy)

hello. I am having a very bad day.

Kay, do you have any nice new fics to read? With snogging? Or even painful ones for cathartic sniffling?

Tinkjon · 14/07/2008 20:34

Hello everyone, can I join your thread, please?! [waves hello]

I posted a thread recently about not getting over The Doctor and Rose (let it go, Tink, let it go) and then wondered if there were other Dr Who threads and came across you lovely people here I see that some of you are going to see Hamlet - me too, when is everyone else going? I will have to be somewhat restrained though, as DH is coming with me

Anyway, just wanted to say hello - have to go and lie down now, after looking at that pic Kay sent - that's too much excitement for a girl for one evening

ReallyReally · 14/07/2008 20:45

OH PISS OFF THE LOT OF YOU WITH YOUR HAMLET

NO YOU CAN'T JOIN YOU SMUG FECKER I HATE THE BLEEDING LOT OF YOU

ReallyReally · 14/07/2008 20:46

howls drunkenly

serenity · 14/07/2008 21:09

Do you want me to find you some rude DW fic (or any other show if you like) How rude d'you want it? Any particular combo of participants?

ReallyReally · 14/07/2008 21:12

oooh - very rude please yes

the doctor. I don't care who he shags. bring it on

serenity · 14/07/2008 21:19

Doctor/Martha

I'm a bit slow with this as I've been reading Supernatural smut rather than DW smut lately (well until Kay got me reading DW stuff agin)

ReallyReally · 14/07/2008 21:25

serenity I have convinced dh that we can watch Supernatural, we will be starting from episode one as soon as we can get through this set of The Lost Room. It looks okay but dh can't stand Peter Krause so things are going quite slowly. Is supernatural good? (ta for the link btw )

serenity · 14/07/2008 21:39

Supernatural is absolutely bloody genius (imo obviously) As much as I love Doctor Who, and can be incredibly geeky over it, that's nothing compared to how 14yo fangirl-squeeing-overexcited-puddle of goo I get over Supernatural. It is possible, therefore, that I might be slightly biased Geeky fact no.1, the first piece of Supernatural slash fiction was posted on the net within 1/2hr of the pilot being shown.

But seriously, it is very good so definitely give it a go.

Martha/Doctor/Casanova

ReallyReally · 14/07/2008 21:51

I trust you, serenity, I really do

a long time ago, in an identity far, far away, you were the first person I found on mumsnet who liked the same stuff as me

KatyMac · 14/07/2008 21:55

I'm really enjoying the 10.2 blog - it is written really Dr like (IMO)

I have been struggling with some old Dr who books recently which were really dark & depressing

But I like your selections so far Serenity, Plus I love Kay's

MadamePlatypus · 14/07/2008 21:58

Quick question.

Donna actually became half a Time Lord in the same way that 10.2 was half human and had one heart.

However, the doctor managed to stop Donna from being half a Time Lord by wiping her memory? How would that work? Have I missed something? Did the Doctor give her some kind of lobotomy?

PersephoneSnape · 14/07/2008 22:06

is there any 10 slash 10.5 fic?

goes to lie down in a dark room with inflatable tocaflane in anticipation.

serenity · 14/07/2008 22:06

not that I need an excuse (but apologies for OT pictures on the DW thread)

The Wincester boys

Supernatural fanvid spoilery in that it's made of clips from S1 and 2, but tbh you won't be a
ble to tell what's from what (unless you watched them so many times that you have to lend them to people just to get them out of the house, for your sanity ) This makes me laugh

RustyBear · 14/07/2008 22:14

I think it was just Donna's mind that was affected, not her body - after all she wasn't growing a new body like 10.2 was, and the doctor used a telepathic connection to remove the Time Lord memories, which would otherwise have burned her brain out.

serenity · 14/07/2008 22:16

Found one, haven't read it yet so it might be dire

humanten/ten

I think Donna had a TimeLord mind put in a completely human body - so it couldn't cope.

10.5 was a TimeLord effectively downgraded to a human, so was used to a TL mind and could therefore cope?

MadamePlatypus · 14/07/2008 22:17

You guys aren't in the right psychic space to answer serious questions about Donna at the moment are you?

I'll come back tomorrow

MadamePlatypus · 14/07/2008 22:18

sorry rusty, x posted.

ellceeell · 14/07/2008 22:18

you know in the episode with the scarecrows when the doctor thought he was human because all his timelord persona was stored in the pocket watch? Why couldn't he put the timelord bit of Donna somewhere like that?

MadamePlatypus · 14/07/2008 22:19

Hmm. Perhaps somewhere like a ring maybe?

TinkerBellesMum · 14/07/2008 22:23

She wasn't really Time Lord, she just had the thoughts of The Doctor downloaded into her, so he had to remove them and with them took the last however long she'd been with him.
