Wow, we got through the last thread pretty quickly! (Again!)

So Betsy is still recovering from her stroke, Debbie's condition (dementia) is getting worse.

Tim and Sally still have Tim's cousin Ross's daughter Lucy in their care as Ross killed his wife - Lucy's mother, and is in prison... Or so we have been lead to believe. There's a question mark over whether Ross did kill Lucy's mum at the moment, (or if it was Lucy!) after Lucy spoke to her dad the other night and said 'what if they found out what I did!' Sally is struggling with Lucy, especially after she threw her phone at Sally and hit her in the face.

Sarah is still in prison, (for killing Theo,) and hasn't had her trial yet. She has finished with Kit, who went on to sleep with her daughter Bethany!

Bernie's aunt (Celeste) who was trying to get Todd to do a funeral for her, died a few weeks ago, but not before dropping the bombshell that she has breast cancer, and Bernie may have the gene. So may Gemma and the quads, and Kit, and Brody...

Kit was tested. He has breast cancer. He is devastated - (naturally.)

Carl has just got a job in the cab office.

Probably missed some stuff!

I mentioned this in the last thread, but I can't remember if Todd did ever do Celeste's funeral by the way... She's been dead nearly 4 weeks now. I don't think they've mentioned her funeral for about 3 weeks. And I definitely don't remember them doing it.......

I tell you what I didn't like in last night's episode. Glenda deserting Eva. Eva was clearly very ill, and had a very bad, heavy cold, and whilst she was making Glenda run around after her a bit, Glenda pretending she was ill, and putting on an obviously fake cough, and then bogging off home (leaving sick Eva to man the fort,) was spiteful and mean-spirited. I would be rethinking Glenda's employment there to be honest. (If I was Eva.) I know she can't just sack her, but I would be seeing her in a very different light now.

Back to the discussion on forgotten children...

Remember when Tyrone thought Jack was his child? Jack who lost a leg, which also seems to have been forgotten.

thenightsky · 25/09/2026 14:17

I thought Glenda was a real bitch last night. I assumed she was implying that Eva was making her illness up.

Agreed. I know it's a matter of opinion, but IMO, Glenda is partly responsible for Eva's 'accident' (falling down the cellar steps - after being shoved by Sam..)

If Glenda hadn't deserted her and left her completely on her own, this wouldn't have happened. I hope Glenda feels like shit now. And yeah, she did act as if Eva was making it up. (And she wasn't.)

Yes, I do remember this. Probably not far off this in Classic Corrie ... Tyrone thought Jack was his for maybe half a year, maybe 3-4 months? Can't quite remember.

And yes, Jack losing part of his leg/his foot is never mentioned now! (This was 2018.)

Bit like Bethany's stoma. Never mentioned, and she clearly doesn't have one. She has crop tops and tight trousers on, and there's no sign of a stoma.

But in Corrie all illnesses are magically cured like all those with cancer and new kidneys!

JellyBeanSpring25 · 25/09/2026 15:06

Glenda wasn’t just cheesed off about Eva sniffling and ordering “hot lemon”, she was also cross that Eva wasn’t helping her get LittleBigShots back online after Ma Driscoll’s meddling. Glenda’s business has in effect been closed down to new clients.

I like Todd and Kit being mates, normal friendships are few and far between on those cobbles!

zanahoria · 25/09/2026 15:25

I remember when Jenny told Kev about losing her son, Kev replied that he could not imagine how much that would hurt.

So he had forgotten all about the kid he lost

Glenda is barmaid not Eva's maid and she had finished her shift

Eva was well enough to get her own paracetamol

She was well enough to go down and get crisps, hardly the most pressing of tasks unless she planned eating them all herself that night

the80sweregreat · 25/09/2026 15:54

I don’t think that Glenda was out of order for being fed up. The odd request is fine, but this was relentless!
It was a plot device to make her close up early, but she was annoying. Not really like her to be like that.

Of course! Welcome to the thread 🙂

Just checking in

I agree, that was out of character and rather a shoddy plot device.

Welcome @Imoldenoughtorememberbagpuss 🙂

Thank you for the new thread. Not read any yet.

I was so confused about you all talking about Debbie not recognising on the last thread as I was thinking that isn't Toyah. Just seen on line about her being recast and thought what the heck?! then realised it was a one off to show it from Debbie's point of view.

Imoldenoughtorememberbagpuss · 25/09/2026 18:53

I thought it was really clever how they put the stranger in Toyah's place.
It completely threw me at first, but when we saw it was Toyah it actually gave me goosebumps.

Yes it was clever that! I was thrown at first, because I wondered how this strange blonde woman knew Debbie, and why she was trying to usher her down the street. Then as Debbie scuttled off, they showed us that it was Toyah. That was so weird, and like you, it gave me a bit of a chill.

That male paramedic was an awkward actor.

SabreIsMyFave · 25/09/2026 21:08

Yes, I think @the80sweregreat may be right that Glenda behaving like she did was a plot device to make Eva shut up the pub early, but as has been said it's annoying because I really don't think that Glenda would have done this, and yes it was out of character.

It would have been better if they had just got Glenda to say she has an urgent medical appointment, and say 'I'm so sorry Eva, I have to go,' and then have her run off. I hate that they have made Glenda behave like she did, because I like Glenda, she's lovely, and this behaviour is definitely out of character for her.

@JellyBeanSpring25

Glenda wasn’t just cheesed off about Eva sniffling and ordering “hot lemon”, she was also cross that Eva wasn’t helping her get LittleBigShots back online after Ma Driscoll’s meddling. Glenda’s business has in effect been closed down to new clients.

Yes that's true that Glenda was annoyed about Little Big Shots being taken down off the internet, and Eva not making more effort to contact Ma Driscoll, but I still think Glenda was a bit mean to leave Eva on her own in the pub. She knew there was no other staff whatsoever, and Eva was unwell. As I said though, I am annoyed that they made Glenda do this, as it was out of character for her, and as I said up there ^ I think they should have just got her to say she has a very important appointment that she can't miss, in order to get Eva to shut the pub.

Maybe (as a couple of people have suggested,) Glenda was just very annoyed though, with being treated like a maid, and Eva seemingly not making much effort to contact Ma Driscoll. We all have a breaking point I guess! 😬 😆

Oooooh, looks like Eva is quite seriously injured then. Possibly a broken (or fractured) pelvis! That's not good!

zanahoria · 25/09/2026 21:25

She will probably have forgotten who pushed her so they can drag it out
