Help me remember the actor's name

Just to satisfy my itching brain!
Had a dream last night which featured an actor walking across a car park. He seemed familiar and I'm sure he's a real person.
The problem is, I can't think of much detail.
He's the sort of person who'd be in drama things like murder mysteries or maybe period dramas of the 1920s/1930s - he'd be playing a hotel proprietor type character.
I think he's fairly tall. He's an older actor - or at least, was then - he may have died.
White hair, with a bit of a wave, sometimes worn slicked back. A bit 'jowly' but not with a particularly wide face and has a moustache.
It's NOT Richard Griffiths. There's a similarity but the actor I'm thinking of has a narrower face than that and I don't think he has glasses.

Any ideas?

Have we said Kenneth Branagh yet? I can just imagine how horrified Gilderoy Lockhart would be at being described as jowly 😂 Although perhaps not, he's probably not old enough... But actors can change their appearance so much for a role, we have no chance really.

Denholm Elliot? Had a pale suit in A Room with a View.

Maybe not an actor at all - Norman Lamont or Douglas Hurd?

If you dreamed this person, it's highly likely just an amalgamation of characteristics of a number of people which your mind has put together or a generic type your subconscious has invented. I have a recurring dream set in a particular location. I had it again in the week and was wracking my brain to figure out where the setting was. It is completely made up by my subconscious with elements of various places I have been, but it doesn't exist.

Did you ever work out who it was, OP?

There was a Reddit thread about British character actors that threw up a few more suggestions:

Miles Malleson

Freddie Jones (Toby's dad - a long shot)

Michael Ripper

I said Michael Ripper. He was always the innkeeper in Hammer Horrors…

I think it’s Gary Oldman being the old man version of Dracula in Bram Stokers Dracula 1992, Francis Coppola
