Well seeing as I did the threads last year I might as well kick things off again for 2026 now that the first teaser trailer has dropped.

If you haven’t seen it, watch here:

As a reminder, here’s the line up:

  • Amol Rajan – Journalist and Broadcaster
  • Bella Ramsey – Actor
  • James Acaster – Comedian and Podcaster
  • James Blunt – Singer/Songwriter
  • Jerry Hall – Model and Actress
  • Joanne McNally – Comedian
  • Joe Lycett – Comedian
  • Julie Hesmondhalgh – Actor
  • King Kenny – Content Creator
  • Leigh-Anne Pinnock – Singer/Songwriter
  • Maya Jama – Broadcaster and Entrepreneur
  • Michael Sheen – Actor and Presenter
  • Miranda Hart – Actor and Author
  • Myha’la – Actor
  • Professor Hannah Fry– Broadcaster and Mathematician
  • Richard E. Grant – Actor and Author
  • Rob Beckett – Comedian
  • Romesh Ranganathan – Comedian
  • Ross Kemp – Actor and Presenter
  • Sebastian Croft – Musician and Actor
  • Sharon Rooney – Actor

I’m guessing we’ll get 2 women and 1 man as the initial Traitors and hoping the Secret Traitor has been binned.

Will the Big Dog Theory come back? Will we get another Nick/Joe style bromance?

Feel free to espouse your theories on how it might play out.

I reckon REG will go on about episode 4 after another monumental gaffe.😁

Gaffe or double bluff? We do not know. I think he enjoys being mischievous.

THANK YOU.

Oh yes where is that unusual crush thread

It has been says before that the smartest way for the Faithfuls to play the game is to identify the Traitors early on and keep them in. If you banish them they just recruit new ones that are harder to detect.

Better to identify them, keep them in then vote them off in the last few round tables.

I agree. It nobody ever seems to do that - in either version! I think they all get too giddy with excitement of being there and want the kudos of being the first one to get a traitor out

IAmKerplunk · 02/10/2026 13:44

Has anyone done the Traitors experience? Is it worth it? Is it any good?

It'd be a good strategy, but I think people get stuck at the round table, when they have to give a good reason why they're voting someone out, and pick the one they know in desperation.

Nor do they want to try to save someone that everybody else thinks is a traitor, because by doing that, they bring suspicion on themselves.

I am a big Traitors fan and have watched all the UK series, as well as US, Oz and NZ.
Here is a casting issue I mentioned last year and want to mention again. In every series of UK Traitors, one Traitor has always been a WoC. Anyone who watches Traitors regularly will know that. This actually puts a target on the WoC in the game, though of course it's done with good intentions. I hope no one's noticed this and Maya survives, as I like her.

Edited

This isn't true of UK season 4 of 'normal" Traitors - Hugo, Fiona, Rachel and Stephen were the traitors, all white.

I am sruprised by the dislike for Amol on here. I really like him and he's obviously a very smart guy. His interview skills definitely came out when he started grilling Richard. I think he could be such a good faithful, so I'm gutted either way at the outcome from the recruitment/murder last night.

I think a lot of them were either a bit overexcited (REG 😆, Ross, Amol, Rob with the constant wisecracking) or overawed (Miranda for one) and quiet in that first episode and may settle down and be themselves more after this.

Nobody ever does that because it's virtually impossible to identify the traitors.

crabbyoldbat · 02/10/2026 13:51

They would have been so much better to have picked Ross + one other, to kill Ross, putting suspicion on Bella, and recruit the other.

Unless, of course, Maya is being very sneaky, and is happy suspicion will fall on REG.

To save REG now, I'd be voting for (and spreading doubts about) Ross, on the grounds that he over-acted being paranoid about 'death in plain sight'.

And obviously some celebs are there to further their careers (fair play) and others are there for the shits and giggles. I’m here for the latter and any chaos 🤣

Me too 😂

CaptainMyCaptain · 02/10/2026 13:51

Oh yes!

CaveMum · 02/10/2026 13:51

Totally agree that it might be the smartest play, but almost never happens!

A year or two ago Richard and Marina did a whole rundown of stats across all the different series across the globe (at that point). It showed that the statistically most likely winner is a recruited traitor, though interestingly we’ve never had that in the UK version.

You know, you are absolutely right. I think that was the exception to the rule and I even commented on it at the time!

IAmKerplunk · 02/10/2026 13:55

I had never heard of Amol so I want him to stay purely for that reason.

newrubylane · 02/10/2026 13:56

Thegirlwhowent · 02/10/2026 13:37

Almost nobody has successfully identified a traitor. There is really very little to go on and the times when someone has been right, I think it's just coincidence. People use the silliest evidence - like saying someone is too nice to be a traitor! Even REG declaring he's a traitor doesn't tell you whether he's a traitor.

Even when there is that rare actual logical evidence of a traitor or otherwise they are crap at actually reaching the right conclusions.

Or A makes a really sound evidenced argument for B being a traitor, but then C starts talking about how D looked at them funny or whatever, and they all vote to banish D. It's baffling.

I love how excited TRIE get about Traitors. Looking forward to listening to their podcast about the episodes

ThatCyanCat · 02/10/2026 14:04

There's a lot of talk about strategy and logic but tbh that almost never comes into it. It's a guessing game based on who you believe. It's very rare for a situation to arise where you really can logically deduct something, which is why it was so frustrating in S2 when Jas worked it out because he realised the only way Paul could know he suspected him was if he'd been told at the traitors' meeting... and he was so smart and got down to the very final... and then Molly also had the opportunity to use logic (he wouldn't vote banish again if he was a traitor!!) and fucked it up. Ugh, I'm still so annoyed!

Even the traitors haven't got a huge amount of oportunity for strategy. They don't know how people will take their murder choices.

We did it last year. 100% worth it. We went in a big group but also had a few couples (from various parts of the UK) with us in our game. It was a lot of fun!

IAmKerplunk · 02/10/2026 14:10

Nothing will ever beat s2 final of Australia Traitors 🤣

Ooh thank you, fab to hear! There would only be 2 of us going - I’m going to look into it.

Was that with Sam the traitor? I couldn't finish that series, I found it unwatchable. I heard about the ending and that was sooooo predictable. What a shit and unsatisfying way to end the game.

JasmineMac · 02/10/2026 14:12

Disappointing first episode.
Richard is just cringe with how poorly he's played the game.

Sharon would be a good traitor, along with either Rob or Romesh.
Hopefully Richard goes quickly.

Interesting, though, that 2 traitors made it to the final. And Netty and Judy, both woc, were the first two banishments.

Molly was hopeless I'm pretty sure at one point she thought there were no traitors left, even though they hadn't caught one since the last murder. No wonder Harry kept her in so long really 😆

When Fiona outed Rachel last year, then they got Fiona as a Traitor. Harriet was the only one who said 'that was Traitor on Traitor' - because why would a Traitor go that hard on a Faithful out of nowhere and put themselves on the spotlight like that? But they banished Ross instead, for some inconspicuous reason.
