Well seeing as I did the threads last year I might as well kick things off again for 2026 now that the first teaser trailer has dropped.

If you haven’t seen it, watch here:

As a reminder, here’s the line up:

  • Amol Rajan – Journalist and Broadcaster
  • Bella Ramsey – Actor
  • James Acaster – Comedian and Podcaster
  • James Blunt – Singer/Songwriter
  • Jerry Hall – Model and Actress
  • Joanne McNally – Comedian
  • Joe Lycett – Comedian
  • Julie Hesmondhalgh – Actor
  • King Kenny – Content Creator
  • Leigh-Anne Pinnock – Singer/Songwriter
  • Maya Jama – Broadcaster and Entrepreneur
  • Michael Sheen – Actor and Presenter
  • Miranda Hart – Actor and Author
  • Myha’la – Actor
  • Professor Hannah Fry– Broadcaster and Mathematician
  • Richard E. Grant – Actor and Author
  • Rob Beckett – Comedian
  • Romesh Ranganathan – Comedian
  • Ross Kemp – Actor and Presenter
  • Sebastian Croft – Musician and Actor
  • Sharon Rooney – Actor

I’m guessing we’ll get 2 women and 1 man as the initial Traitors and hoping the Secret Traitor has been binned.

Will the Big Dog Theory come back? Will we get another Nick/Joe style bromance?

Feel free to espouse your theories on how it might play out.

Except that it is hard to imagine REG keeping that a secret 😉

I think he was literally just thrilled to be a traitor and couldn't keep it to himself. He was uncontainable and excited, then rubbish at covering up his gaffe. Great TV, the producers etc must be thrilled too.

Why does Claudia look so small?? Is there some wierd perspective thing going on.

The Middle one always looks weirdly short. It is something to do with the way they film them standing round that small table. It must be deliberate because it’s all deliberate, but I don’t know why they do it

MirrorMirror1247 · 02/10/2026 12:28

I'm a little bit in love with James Acaster so I want him to stay as long as possible! It doesn't make sense to kill him off after he outright said that he thinks Richard is a traitor.

HeinousBeaker · 02/10/2026 12:31

The Guardian is live blogging all the episodes this year. I read it through this morning and It made me laugh quite a lot. I liked this “They are opening a crate on the boat. They have 90 seconds to escape before the boat explodes. If they don’t, the boat will 100% explode and people will literally die. This is The Traitors after all, a show that would definitely blow up Jerry Hall for exiting a boat in a slightly tardy fashion.”

Traitors always need a useful idiot to do their bidding and they must be a Faithful. Too early in the game to work out which one of the Faithfuls that could be.

Last year it was two Faithfuls, David Olusoga and Nick Mohamed to one Traitor, Carr who won.

Nick did say that he, regretfully, was the useful idiot.

Michael Sheen…

forgotmyusername1 · 02/10/2026 12:38

If they are smart they will keep richard in until near the end now they are pretty sure he is a traitor

@the80sweregreat ive worked alongside her and can safely say this is true!!!

Love James Acaster - didnt before but he made a really reasoned argument. Hope he stays. Amol is just smug.

Jerry Hall - had to explain to my kids that she was a famous model, dated Bryan Ferry, married Mick Jagger - and also married a billionaire - what a life. The Bryan Ferry part makes me hugely jealous....

She wasn’t legally married to Jagger. She thought they were but when he dumped her she found out their Bali ceremony was never legal.

CatVester · 02/10/2026 12:43

Claudia is actually quite small. She's only 5'4" or something.

I think REG is a) not that bright, and b) a bit of a loose cannon.

I am wondering if Richard thought it was all false. Like some people go into I am a Celeb and think they will get tasty meals and go off to a hotel overnight. He thought the drinkipoos was the celebs chewing the fat after a days filming and they all knew what part they had to play. That or he is as thick as mince.

That’s a good thought. But he says he loves it.

I don't fancy him or like his music but he's very clever and funny.

For me it was when he took charge at the challenge 😍 <fans self>

That was funny. I liked the cracks about Amol Rajan withering up like a salty slug if he didn't get to be on TV (I mean, calm down, Amol virtually everyone in the castle is on TV!), and about REG being in Hudson Hawk. Though actually, he's been in way worse films he was in Warlock, for crying out loud, playing a scenery-chewing 17thc witchhunter opposite Julian Sands as Satan and the actress who played the cellist in Fame as Random Female Sidekick.

I do agree, though, with whoever said that in his head, this was a film set, and they'd all just been acting 'people having a traitor-selection round table', and now, in the kitchen/library, wherever, they're off duty and making 'Whew, isn't this fun!' film set conversation.

Though, also, never trust anyone with a house that 'maximalist'.

friedaklein · 02/10/2026 12:52

Poor Amol! He's left the Beeb and struck out on his own, so he's overcompensating to get clicks for his own venture. He needs to relax.

IAmKerplunk · 02/10/2026 12:57

I think REG just had a brain fart and was too over excited 🤣

Toothsome · 02/10/2026 12:08

In fairness, May is not necessarily warm in the highlands! Everyone looked certainly pretty warmly clad in the castle, from what I remember -- I didn't actually think it was that unlikely that whoever it was (Leigh-Anne?) rubbed Ross Kemp's shoulder because she was cold.

I suppose I'm thinking of the non-celeb version which is filmed in June and July - even in the Highlands it was too warm for woolly coats this year. Sometimes the contestants are in red or blue t shirts!

CaveMum · 02/10/2026 13:04

I think it’s safe to say that REG is not afraid to do unusual things. Let us not forget this is the man who recorded the soliloquy from Hamlet for a dance record in the mid-90s!

And obviously some celebs are there to further their careers (fair play) and others are there for the shits and giggles. I’m here for the latter and any chaos 🤣

Like when Meghan Markle was amazed that the Royals curtsy to one another etc in private, rather than going full Waynetta Slob once the camera are off.

The royals are definitely in their fluffy onesies watching the traitors, no doubt!

I agree. I'd keep him in for ages and just keep trying to see who he doesn't publicly interact with/throw under the bus.

CaveMum · 02/10/2026 13:27

It has been says before that the smartest way for the Faithfuls to play the game is to identify the Traitors early on and keep them in. If you banish them they just recruit new ones that are harder to detect.

Better to identify them, keep them in then vote them off in the last few round tables.

Lori Singer! She was my favourite kid from fame

Trying to recall if anyone has ever done this in previous seasons. I think.they have but can't remember the outcome.

sherbetlemonade · 02/10/2026 13:37

I reckon REG will go on about episode 4 after another monumental gaffe.😁

Thegirlwhowent · 02/10/2026 13:37

Almost nobody has successfully identified a traitor. There is really very little to go on and the times when someone has been right, I think it's just coincidence. People use the silliest evidence - like saying someone is too nice to be a traitor! Even REG declaring he's a traitor doesn't tell you whether he's a traitor.

Fans of James Blunt - have you seen him in the reel where some of the celebs are "packing outfits" ready for the trip to the castle?
