Is anyone else watching?

I can’t say a lot because it’s very outing but I grew up with this family. So surreal seeing it all like this. They’re some of my earliest memories.

Incredible documentary. The fact they got access to the mum and she spoke so candidly (if not truthfully). What a story. I’m so glad those children survived it all and seem to be thriving but you can see how damaged they are too.

Its a hard watch

the poor daughter seems deeply traumatised by her mother’s actions

Yes, they existed. They don’t let you keep prescribed oxygen at home without scrutiny. Too much oxygen is dangerous. They monitor it.

I was a doctor (adult medicine) back then and oxygen prescribing was nothing like it is today. Practically zero monitoring, people just asking their GP for a cylinder and getting them.

We didn't even has sats monitors in the community.

The Father has a lot to answer for

the children were taken away and put into care. Where was he when those kids were teenagers?

the daughter went to live with the nutty mum when she got out of prison

where TF was he when Laura needed a home?

Laura chose to be with her mum as a teen
Its not the same but i have a disabled child and its very common for it to be the mother that attends the majority of the meetings and appointments
By all accounts she was very articulate and appered to know what she doing
If mathhew came home with feeding tubes and oxygen tanks
Why would he doubt her ?
Even the medics had been taken in by her
