Emerald is Kim and Denise's mother. She told them that Denise was adopted, but they took a test which showed she lied and they are full sisters. It was one of those pointless storylines that went nowhere.

I don't think the writers thought this through. We know Denise isn't going to die and that Ian gets out of jail. I take it Priya is going to do a in-womb DNA test?

Ben has been away for years now for credit card fraud.
When will Ian be out ? his story has been left in limbo

Poor old Ian. We don't even know if Gray died or not. No mention of it. But we don't care about that either because we know Ian isn't in jail at Christmas.

I'm not sure Wadey thought this through very thoroughly.🤔

Ben’s sentence seems ridiculously long, wasn’t it just for using a dodgy card to pay for a hotel and flight?

As for Ian, is the appeal still going ahead? I know Sheila was supposedly helping with it but obviously she’s not around now for that.

I’m finding myself not caring about Denise and the storyline, she isn’t one of my favourite characters anyway.

Fraud often seems to get longer sentences than violence as money is more important than people. Apparently.

But Ben's was very low level, so yes, it does seem odd.

When I was in hospital recently, I got hospital acquired pneumonia- which is I guess similar to what they’re portraying Denise to have .. even though I was on IV antibiotics they had to check my bloods every day to ensure it hadn’t developed into sepsis.. I think with hospital acquired infections they’re known to be resistant to first line antibiotics. So it was done well to someone with experience of this, but not explained clearly enough really x

Denise’s deterioration wasn’t sudden? In the previous episode she was coughing up a lung and clearly very ill. The chemo has weakened her immune system and any infection is very serious.

Remember her mate Tiana? She had an infection, she was chatting to Dee one day, and dead the next.

I thought Ben was supposed to be released this summer. There was some talk about the actor returning permanently but that all went quiet.

Ian has more to worry about than the original appeal, he stabbed Gray.

Agree with others that NYD is going to be a bit of a flop. Do we think they will replay the episode and fill in blanks or just do a an episode that follows on from the FF?

Yes she was coughing, but for me, to go from coughing to a coma was a bit extreme. I would have thought there were some steps in between? But we probably just didn't see or hear of them.

She looked very ill when Kim went round for her hen party a couple of episodes ago, she was weak, breathless and coughing. The deterioration started straight after the ridiculous escapade to the airport, remember she more or less collapsed when she got back to hospital?

I think maybe it didn't seem 'serious' because Jack and Kim were prattling away like everything was fine, but Kim and Jack are dim, she was obviously very ill.

Anyway, Darnell to the rescue.

I felt emotional seeing Denise so unwell. Cancer terrifies me as I’m sure it does everyone.
It brought back Covid memories too.
When she said to Jack, talk to Chelsea about the songs she picked.

I have a huge soft spot for Jean too, she’s a good person, loving the relationship between her and Priya.

I’ve always liked Jean. She can be mean, she is complex, but she is a good person to have on your side.
Priya and her ( Preen? ) are a good pairing. She knows what Max is really like and how he hurts people.

Yesterday's episode was well done i thought, thought stark contrasts between the comedy and sadness. I'm actually quite glad that we know Deniae survives, I dont think I could watch otherwise because they are getting every last drop out of this. Jack having to cry though, that was really horrible to watch as it just seemed so forced. I also hate scenes where they start to kick off questioning the doctors decisions, because this one really wasn't a choice. I wish they'd wear proper PPE though, those plastic aprons are a joke, surely? Also Kim seriously wanting to go and see Dee when she has a cold? Shows how thick she is.

I completely agree with you. Jack crying is always a disaster. Kim is a fool.
Dee is extremely vulnerable and meant to be in isolation but half her family troop in wearing completely pointless aprons. But this is woman who whizzed off to the airport to tear a strip off Sheila, so it is hard to take it seriously.

Priya and Jean have been the highlight of recent episodes.❤

If Max and Cindy are supposed to be getting married in September how can it be them on NYE

So did I, like proper sobs!!
I thought last nights episode was brilliantly done.

Maybe: September wedding called off because DNA shows Max is the daddy of Priya’s baby. But Max doesn’t tell Cindy, he just panics and makes up a reason to postpone and give Kim the wedding date back. Then Max and Cindy reschedule for 1 Jan but he wakes up with Priya?

In other words, Max buys himself some thinking time, but spends it shagging rather than thinking!

Why was Kat crying today ? Bit random wasn’t it.
Liked Darnell , but another one who didn’t live too far away. What’s the chances ? ..

I really like Darnell, have to say that there were little things about him which reminded me of Reiss though 😂🛀

Also wondering why Kat was crying.

We’re not seeing an Alfie gambling storyline coming up again are we?
