He sounds far too switched on and sensible to live in Walford doesn't he!

Alucard55 · 22/08/2026 16:41

I think even for Janine it would be brazen to go back to Walford after everything. I don't see the point in it.

On Nicola's family buying the Vic. It would be a brave move to put newcomers in there. I know the Knights were newcomers but they had the Linda connection.

Southeastdweller · 22/08/2026 16:53

The Carters were newcomers as well (and also a big family gradually brought in) but then they had a connection in Shirl.

I'm sure the Panesaar Family Doctor Surgery can free up a room for a few sessions a week ( especially as they're never bloody open and do they actually have a GP? )

@MyWildOliveGoose @Shellingbynight Why do you think Kat and Alfie are going to lose the Vic? The only reason I can think of is that Wadey wants to have Gemma and Ned there, although if that doesn’t happen they will of course find jobs in the square within a day or two of moving to Walford.

Edited

I honestly don’t know why I think it lol it’s just a feeling lol

Alucard55 · 22/08/2026 19:12

@Southeastdweller and I think Danny Dyer was instantly great in that role which made it work.

Can't see this bunch of Muppets having the same effect.

MadisonAvenue · 22/08/2026 21:09

Nancy and Lee are coming back for short stints in the Autumn so that seems to confirm that it’s Mick’s funeral.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/08/2026 21:24

Mick's funeral makes sense .
Janine coming back to see if there's any spoils for her.
Linda getting closure ( and now able to go off with the Lovely Clive)

Southeastdweller · 22/08/2026 21:33

Wadey says in an interview published today about Lee and Nancy that they're going to be part of a jaw dropping story.

Jaw dropping story… mick turns up at his own funeral? I really hope not.

Shane Ritchie was in the tour of everybody’s talking about Jamie, he was ok but seems to just always play ‘Shane Ritchie pretending to be someone’ which I’m not explaining properly but I know what I mean 🤣

the guy who plays Ned is in beyond paradise and is presumably in the new series they are filming now so guess that’s why we’ve not seen him yet

Shellingbynight · 23/08/2026 07:59

I know what you mean @storminabuttercup Shane is always Shane whatever he's in.

I don't like the sound of this jaw dropping storyline. It's going to be Hollyoaks level dreadful.

Glad you got me.

bit like how Hugh grant is just always Hugh grant

The Sun are saying Zoe dies after a fall. Kat finds her the day after.

Probably not for the reasons he thinks ! More likely ‘ whats this rubbish ‘ lol

Shellingbynight · 23/08/2026 10:24

That makes sense @Southeastdweller

It had to be something sudden and accidental because there has been no build up.

the Sun says

The 42-year-old has already filmed her final scenes, which have been described as “dull”.
In the coming weeks viewers will see Zoe brush off the effects of a fall in which she bangs her head.

She is found dead in bed the next day by her mum Kat.
A source said: “It looks as if her death is going to be as flat and as lacklustre as her comeback.

the80sweregreat · 23/08/2026 13:49

At least her death is something that would happen in real life I suppose. Bit of a rare thing on EE

NoisyBrain · 23/08/2026 18:52

I've finally caught up with all the episodes I missed while on holiday and spent quite a lot of the catch up time thinking WTF? 😂

murasaki · 23/08/2026 22:18

Hopefully if they're killing off Zoe, Penny might be safe, two in short succession seems unlikely.

Southeastdweller · 24/08/2026 10:24

Finding this Denise story (which dominates this week) dreary and unengaging. The Hawkins clan move to Walford next week so maybe I’ll feel more engaged then.

For a soap character who’s featured in some of EE’s biggest stories, Zoe’s death is very mundane. I think that’s in week beginning the 7th.

Why build a pram in the middle of the square ?
Random.

Anyonecanfallinlove · 24/08/2026 10:57

Building a pram in the square was bizarre, was it to facilitate the Eve conversation? Surely they could have had Eve pop round. After Penny's near death experience, why would she be in the square, you'd be recovering at home.
I also agree regarding the Denise story. If they wanted any kind of viewer emotion then they shouldn't have had her off in a mood on the new years day episode. How can we believe emotion when we know she easily swans off in a couple of months, leaving the kids etc

Ohh, how does Zoe die?

Ohh, how does Zoe die?

She has a fall to the head, probably a hematoma.

Injury to her head, I meant to say.
