Just had a hankering, points for obscurities with ludicrous premises

OK I'll start: Midnight Caller
Jack Killian, late night San Francisco DJ and sometime crime-fighter(?), with a Moonlighting rip-off will they/won't they thing with blonde boss.
Really rubbish.

The black and white minstrel show (how awful was that?)

Rich man poor man (on a Saturday night)

'By the Sword Divided'- anyone remember that bunch of fops and puritans? V. educational.

AbstractMouse · 27/06/2008 22:01

Oh god my Mum used to make me watch the equalizer and midnight caller, also beauty and the beast with vincent lol. Later on there was also that crappy millenium and american gothic, also one who's name escapes me maybe poltergeist?

I remember the one set in a health centre and also the one set in the travel agents. I vaguely remember dear john. My so called life was fantastic as was heartbreak high, mmmm Jared Leto. Anyone remember springhill? that was on ch4 when I was doing my GCSE's.

This is brill. I'm pathetically pleased to see I'm not the only one in the world that remembers 'sharp intake of breath'! It never gets a mention in any David jason interviews etc and I seem to remember it was really good! Some other greats on here but how about... On a Tuesday night (I think!!) there was a series of american police shows, a different one each week Columbo (whihc we all remember), McCloud (I think) gorgeous Dennis Weaver (again I think that was his name) dressed as a cowboy and rode his horse thru New York, McMillan & Wife (the perfect couple, just like Hart TO Hart) and one called Banacheck (thats how it was pronounced not spelt) starring George Peppard where there was always a really mysterious answer to the mystery (a bit like Jonathan Creek!). Hawaii Five O may have been on as well, or maybe it had its own slot but Jack Lord was gorgeous! (I was prob about 8 at the time!!)

EyeballsintheSky · 27/06/2008 22:30

Poldark
Hart to Hart
Dempsey and Makepeace (yes they did marry)
Metal Mickey
Love Hurts (Adam Faith/Zoe Wanamaker)
House of Eliott

Theresa · 27/06/2008 22:34

I loved House of Elliott and there was one after that called 'A Nightingale Sang' (I think about posh people and their Nanny's, same era. One of the horrible rich bitches was Hermoine Norris (pre cold feet) and there was also Victoria Smurfitt (now a police boss in something like prime suspect) she was one of the nanny's

EyeballsintheSky · 27/06/2008 22:38

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 27/06/2008 22:56

UnquietDad · 28/06/2008 00:07

Yup, and they are remaking it! This year!

bamboostalks · 28/06/2008 09:56

Can anyone (we're talking well over 40 here) remember 'White Horses' on sat mornings. It was 'foreign' if i had to guess i'd say something like Yugoslavian and dubbed but it was great and the theme tune was wonderful! Bizzarly I overheard a man singing it at work today and I was transported back!

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 30/06/2008 21:45

How about "Dear John"?

I still remember the theme tune.
