Just had a hankering, points for obscurities with ludicrous premises

OK I'll start: Midnight Caller
Jack Killian, late night San Francisco DJ and sometime crime-fighter(?), with a Moonlighting rip-off will they/won't they thing with blonde boss.
Really rubbish.

Perhaps we've all got our rose tinted specs on......or perhaps I happened to watch a crap episode the other night....

MrsSprat · 26/06/2008 23:51

Watching repeats of A-Team/Knight Rider/Fall Guy with the benefit of grown-up insight does unearth some unpalatable Reaganite right-wing stuff though - lots of Union bashing etc

Mind you, on a less serious note, that A-Team with Boy George (Cowboy George) was a flippin' riot.

Ooh - Midnight Caller! I'd forgotten about that. And Juliet Bravo - I loved that!

Can't believe no-one's mentioned Robin of Sherwood I was a teenager at the time and remember crying tragically when Michael Praed's Robin was killed. Jason Connery just not the same. And what about Clannad's music? 'The hooded man. DUM DUM'

slayerette · 27/06/2008 10:30

You know you loved it!

MacGyver - he had it all, geeky/techy knowledge wrapped up in a great body. [sigh]

I have just bought the dvds for all 3 series of Roswell I'm not entirely sure that it belongs on this thread though as I'm not sure it's really crappy.

margoandjerry · 27/06/2008 10:33

The Rockford Files because he had a machine that answered the telephone for him and that was beyond cool

I remember some detective thing set in Vegas. The chap had a low, sleek car which he drove into an underground garage with remote control door. I can picture the chap but can't for the life of me remember what the programme was called.

bran · 27/06/2008 10:38

Ohh yes, the answerphone in The Rockford Files was a source of envy in our house too.

Has anyone said Magnum PI yet? Or Hawaii 5 O? (I used to love the theme tune to that.)

Mercy · 27/06/2008 10:47

Hawaii 50

Van der Valk

Danger UXB

Galloping Gourmet

MummyDoIt · 27/06/2008 10:50

Blake's 7 and Sapphire and Steel. I loved them so much, I bought them all on DVD so I could watch them again .

A Bouquet of Barbed Wire (I remember my mum watching it, not me)

YohoAhoy · 27/06/2008 10:54

Fanalla, the show was Vegas, and he was Dan Tanner. Sigh. I lurvvvvvved him.

I was also desperate to have an open plan house you could drive your car into until my mum rather prosaically pointed out the fumes would be disgusting.

Sigh again.

bran · 27/06/2008 10:57

Dempsey and Makepeace. He used to answer his phone with "Yo!" IIRC. Didn't the two actors get married in RL?

Monkey Magic

Can anyone remember
Tales of the Gold Monkey?

I had a crush on the man who flew the plane/boat thing.
I must have been about 8/9ish and we would all sit as a family eating Tudor beef crisps, sweets, chocolate and pop from the pop man.
