Just had a hankering, points for obscurities with ludicrous premises

OK I'll start: Midnight Caller
Jack Killian, late night San Francisco DJ and sometime crime-fighter(?), with a Moonlighting rip-off will they/won't they thing with blonde boss.
Really rubbish.

Can't believe no one's mentioned Tenco.

(i also cried when Robin of Sherwood died - )

PortBlacksandResident · 27/06/2008 11:02

Ooooh and the one where one of the McGanns was a male nanny (oooh how outrageous!).

TillyScoutsmum · 27/06/2008 11:04

Sapphire & Steel

Twin Peaks

Tales of the unexpected (I used to giggle because there were "naked" people in the opening titles}

There was one which was a bit like an early version of the Crystal Maze - had funny monsters etc - might have been called the Adventure Game

Used to love Rentaghost as well

TillyScoutsmum · 27/06/2008 11:05

Oh yes - The McGanns and Honor Blackman - The Upper Hand ??

Duty Free

One with Nicholas Lyndhurst and a woman (think her name was Elaine in the show) Just the two of us or something ?

PuppyMonkey · 27/06/2008 11:07

Has anyone mentioned Highway to Heaven yet, with Michael Landon from Little House on the Prairie.? He was an angel or something.

Was always on when I was s'posed to be revising for my finals. We used to get to the exam hall and instead of discussing revision beforehand, we'd all be discussing Highway to Heaven.... Happy days.

margoandjerry · 27/06/2008 11:11

ooh penny and vince !! They were the Ross and Rachel of their day werent they!

TillyScoutsmum · 27/06/2008 11:11

HIghway to Heaven used to make me cry I think it was a Michael Landon thing - possibly my first crush (along with Leo Sayer [blush[)

bamboostalks · 27/06/2008 11:11

Just The Two of Us was great with the old grandad. What about that one about the couple fron up north called Malcolm and Brenda. What was that called? And 'Me and My Girl' with Richard O'Sullivan.

Mercy · 27/06/2008 11:12

Angels

What was that programme which featured a yacht in the opening sequence? It's bugging me now

TillyScoutsmum · 27/06/2008 11:13

I remember that - it had Liza Tarbuck in it ... Watching ?

margoandjerry · 27/06/2008 11:14

I heart Richard O'Sullivan. Robin's Nest.

Also does anyone remember the sitcom that launched Lesley Ash's career? It was called The Happy Apple and was about a secretary in a marketing agency.

PortBlacksandResident · 27/06/2008 11:21

Black Beauty - the series.

LA Law

EthelTheUnready · 27/06/2008 11:23

TillyScoutsmum · 27/06/2008 11:27

Don't remember the Lesley Ash one - remember the awful one with Amanda Holden as a receptionist. Think it may have had Caroline Quentin in as well ..

PuppyMonkey · 27/06/2008 11:27

PortBlacksandResident · 27/06/2008 11:48

Lives and Loves freaked me out at the time only because there was a sex scene with Tom Baker in it.

DR WHO IN BED WITH A LADY!!!!!!

Ripeberry · 27/06/2008 11:50

How about EMU-TV with Rod Hull and Emu and Grotbags the green skinned witch played by Carol-lee Scott?
Also Worzel Gummidge, Rentaghost and Stig of the Dump?

Mercy · 27/06/2008 11:51

I think I was thinking of Howard's Way which has already been mentioned or possible Triangle.

Lives and Loves was a great programme

Nickinha · 27/06/2008 12:05
