And yet they are retiring the greatest storyteller of them all Grin

Well done Billy.

Ruse has beaten Navarro

How will we know the difference between our butterflies without AC?

I have waited all day for the ADF/Grigor match- and now I have to go out. Grr.

Poor Chrissie. I wonder why they didn’t remove her ovaries fully last time to prevent it recurring.

kazzaD66 · 25/06/2026 17:01

Sad news.

Raahh · 25/06/2026 17:24

Back just in time to see that ADF has the first set, and then hit a tweener in the next game.

Why is there a banner apologising for the strong language on Sky? I didn’t hear anything. But strong language is better than bad language isn’t it?

Raahh · 25/06/2026 17:55

Well done ADF.

This guy interviewing Karolina Grin she looks totally confused

I saw that interview- it was a classic example of the interviewer speaking far too fast, and saying way too much before they got to a question - all for Karolina to go ' sorry?' Grin
I often think some players aren't answering the questions anyway, they have set responses and trot them out, regardless.

'So, can I ask how you are finding the British weather'

'Yes, my serve was good today and I enjoy playing at this tournament'

'...'

Oh dear that is sad news about Chrissie - hope she will be ok

Such an amazing player. I think she was one of the first players I followed ( there was such a good batch playing in both the mens and the womens at the time) I used to love how beautifully turned out she was, her little touches of jewellery , the big “ are she and Connors an item?” debate, her hair, and of course her tennis, she was so strong but graceful and athletic at the same time. She was magic.

Chrissie, stay strong, if support from your fans will help then here’s a skipful from me.Flowers

Yes, I saw that on BBC Sport earlier. I'm very glad that the BBC have retained Wimbledon, as I don't have TNT, Sky or whatever. A bit of a raised eyebrow though at some of the waffle in the press release.......
"This year's Wimbledon coverage will usher in a fresh new editorial and creative approach from BBC Sport, featuring new voices and personalities, deeper storytelling, enhanced analysis and technology.......all designed to bring audiences closer to the Championships than ever before."

I hope this doesn't mean a load of abstract waffle at the expense of watching actual tennis being played!
"Deeper storytelling"?! It's Wimbledon, not Jackanory Hmm

Hard agree. Why don’t they realise we don’t give a shit about their editorial process? Just show us the fucking tennis and shut up.
I will rejoice the day we get an option for no commentary.

I got all excited when I saw a headline about Wimbledon saying that Djok had withdrawn from a tournament but it was just an exhibition match that he’d withdrawn from - boo!

It’s the Wimbledon draw this morning

It’s thundering here but it’s still hot!

Raahh · 26/06/2026 08:26

We had thinder in the the early hours- the weather reports lied and said it would go on until ,well, now ish but it must have stopped around 4am. It's sweltering again here.

Djok withdrawing from things means nothing really, does it? He likes to play his mind games - and get the media wound up so they can think he's injured or whatever.

We had an electric (lightning) storm last night but no rain or thunder. Boiling already here. I live about 20 miles from where the hottest June day ever was recorded yesterday. Hopefully it won’t be that hot again today!

JaneJeffer · 26/06/2026 10:45

It seems my aircon movie plot has become a reality in France according to the Daily Mail Grin

“Brawls also broke out in several stores selling affordable air conditioning units as sweltering shoppers scrambled to get their hands on the cooling appliances.
Footage from small retailers and large supermarkets across the country showed customers surging into stores while staff desperately pleaded for calm.”

magi have you gone on the rampage?

Fizzywinegum · 26/06/2026 10:50
Grin

I also read that they were restricting the sale of alcohol in France due to the heatwave Shock

Fizzywinegum · 26/06/2026 10:55

I’ve not heard all of the Wimbledon draw but I think Jack Draper plays Fritz in the first round and Stan and Berretini play each other - I would love to see that match!

I think Djok is in the same side of the draw as Sinner which means that he could be playing on the Wednesday - eek

I tried to watch the draw but it was a bit dull and the woman doing the draw was a bit John McEnroe with her pronunciation Hmm

JaneJeffer · 26/06/2026 11:06

I’m reading through it on the Wimbledon app
Kokk v Bublik could be explosive!

kazzaD66 · 26/06/2026 11:06

I've just seen the Brits matches pop up on insta, plus the projected quarter finals. Can't believe Draper vs Fritz!!
Also not happy about Stan vs Matteo Sad
Off to find the whole draws now.

ChessieFL · 26/06/2026 11:07

Stan and Matteo should be a great match but I don’t want to see either go out in the first round! Out of the two of them though I would prefer Matteo to win (sorry Stan).

Marin plays Daniil which could also be a good match (although again a shame to lose either in round 1).
