The next series starts on the 21st April. Looking forward to banquettes, and bizarre paint choices, and upcycling of old junk. DD and I are rewatching the old series and I’d forgotten how crazy some of the rooms were!

Unfortunately I think the most self aware of those three has been eliminated.

Will Emmerley move on from papier mâché?

No chance. It’s her signature 😉

Chrysanthemum5 · 21/04/2026 20:59

The one who clad the walls should have gone she wasted too much of the limited space

Too poor for pottery so... Papier mache?

viques · 21/04/2026 21:00

Were those toilet roll and kitchen paper insides stapled to the wall in that next week clip?

I hope so, I really really do, especially if they have been papier mache’d a little bit.

She is so awful I shall almost be sorry if she does go. Think of all the wasted comic potential.

I think we are in for a few good weeks of eyebrow raising. yippee!

Newgirls · 21/04/2026 21:15

The one who went was far too tasteful for this show. I’d have chosen his, durans or the fabric roof one. The rest were cluttered and cheesy (Italian market stuff wtf?)

Chrysanthemum5 · 21/04/2026 21:15

Agreed @viques it’s like nine of them have ever watched the show before surely they know what Michelle hates by now

Hello! Late to the party, but place marking for next week.

All the usual tat, and urgh to soft furnishings at the beach. I mean, why?????

Not loving the papier mache, or the winning hut. Actually, not loving any of them. The squiggle is the only one i remember.

Which she?

AlwaysRightISwear · 21/04/2026 21:47

Papier Mache Emily.

Papier Mache Emily.

Going by past winners, she will win.

Screamingabdabz · 21/04/2026 22:44

All that hideous papier-mâché stuff reminded me of Delia Deetz’ sculptures that come alive in Beetlejuice.

I thought the most tasteful and practical beach hut was the one they sent home.

But by far the most miraculous make over is Michelle Whatsherface. Do you remember how vile she was in series 1? Serious teeth clenching and ice cold sneering. She’s all fluffy now.

Twonewcats · 21/04/2026 23:25

Who does Emmerly speak like? Her voice is exactly like someone's, and I cannot work out whose 🙈

💯 this

Catching up! Alan looks very trim and healthy colour!

Maybe it’s because we all seen her house without the ‘floof’ in it…and it wasn’t good..so she’s now relying on non- Anna Wintour behaviour to keep the gig 😂

Newgirls · Yesterday 08:20

I’m still cross about the one who went! You could actually use it, have family or friends in it. The rest were so crowded they were impractical. Maybe he should have draped some rope around

C8H10N4O2 · Yesterday 12:43

I would have missed the new season without this thread so thanks for that!

I can see why Teo went home - the hut wasn’t just sparse, it was a shopping basked of unrelated items scattered in the hut.

Astonished that the brothel won - seems highly impractical for a beach hut even if he did score well on the reusing.

Not big on the papier mache - I agreed on the choice of the bottom three.

Only one minority contestant this year - that surprises me.

Only a couple of this year’s contestants seem to consider themselves maximalists - does this mean cluttered clashes are finally going out of fashion again?

This is exactly what I thought, and also those oak planks looked in great condition and could have been used for something much more practical or decorative!

Seemed weird to rescue lovely planks and then paint them to me. And if you're going to clad, you may as well insulate...

Autumngirl5 · Yesterday 18:55

Dear Lord I really hope we are not going to be subjected to even more papier-mâché in the next episodes 😳.

Chrysanthemum5 · Yesterday 19:27

I hope Emmy may have picked up on there being too much papier mache but I’m not hopeful. I really didn’t like the standout space it was just too fussy and cluttered to be a useful space. It may have looked good (although I didn’t like it) but it would get filthy pretty quickly

Twonewcats · Today 01:40

This week's winner had zero room left in it, after all the.....stuff was in it. Not practical at all.

Netaporter · Today 14:41

If anyone follows Sophie Robinson on Instagram (who frankly was robbed of the presenting gig for this show), she has a great summary/analysis of the work. I think she plans to do this every week 👏
