It's still so awkward. I wish she wouldn't try so hard to be funny. Thankfully, Lisa Kidrow and Jamie Dornan are funny. No idea who Chase whatshername is.

Agreed. She really isn’t funny at all.

These are the awards she has been nominated for:

I actually thought Jimmy Carr giving life advice to the audience members was genuinely funny, he's so quick witted. And when the woman who said she found pp so annoying said she was training to be a therapist...!😂

He could have his own show doing that. I'd watch it!

He's brilliant I love him

And Im not sure people are being fair to Chase whatsername because shes not a comedienne, so not meant to be 'funny'.

GellerYeller · 28/03/2026 10:12

Katherine Ryan does a similar advice slot at her live shows. There are clips on her Instagram. I’d recommend!

Thanks. I haven't seen that film so she's passed me by

I wasn't expecting Chase whatshername to be funny. Had just genuinely never heard of her.

I really enjoyed it last night. Claudia is very off hand, but that's just her style. She lets the guests shine.

My only negative comment would be, how does she actually see anything?

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 28/03/2026 13:16

GellerYeller · 28/03/2026 08:59

I enjoyed seeing Lisa, and Jamie Dornan always has great chat show anecdotes.
It still feels a bit much though- ‘here are all the Phoebes’, ‘meet Linda, she’ll barely sit down before she’s offstage again’, ‘let’s get some advice for a ‘redcoat’ from Jimmy’.

I liked the bit with all the phoebes.

Favourite by far was jimmy giving advice and telling Phoebe 1 she was the problem. Her face was v funny!

Codyrhodesisaheel · 29/03/2026 08:42

I think this week was much better. It’s slowly finding its feet.

IberianLynx · 29/03/2026 11:48

Comedians are great at making the best of a bad situation. Definitely better to have comedians on to keep things going, JC and TA saved the day. Not impressed overall.

OonaStubbs · 29/03/2026 13:28

Why hasn't this show been cancelled yet?

Choux · 29/03/2026 18:31

The DM is writing it is not going as expected

firstofallimadelight · 29/03/2026 18:44

It’s not great and I really wanted to love it. She’s not in control of the group and it’s not that interesting. Hopefully it will improve

Sturmundcalm · 30/03/2026 11:38

I thought week 1 was TERRIBLE but I think the last couple of weeks have been good. Not Graham at his peak good but as good as or better than some of his over the last few years. And Rachel Ziegler does come across as over performing but I also think that is who she really is and I think it's nice that there are people in the world who will snap their fingers instead of clapping while being filmed 🤣🫣🤣

Beachtastic · 30/03/2026 11:43

I still find it awkward, and fast-forwarded through to the bits with Jimmy Carr, which fell flat. The guests don't seem to relax and "get" each other. Claudia doesn't do anything to encourage them to mesh in any way, she just reacts to things in her usual way and then changes the subject.

Audience interactions clearly staged/rehearsed, which is a bit cringe. Fancy there being so many Phoebes sitting near the front, funny that. 🤔

Beachtastic · 30/03/2026 12:03

I think this review is brutal but correct:

This was a pilot that should never been recorded, nor broadcast. Given the BBC is at pains to cut costs in order to save money it hasn’t got, one wonders why anyone, audience especially, set foot in the studio.

Claudia is adept at providing the throwaway remark that usually injects recorded TV with playful jeopardy that compensates for the contrived core narrative. She is a consummate professional when it comes to presenting, but with no background in standup nor journalism, she treads water when it comes to interviewing. This was a predictable disappointment.

Agree. Perfectly articulates why this is not good.

RoseTulips2023 · 30/03/2026 13:12

The first episode was appointment viewing for us as Claudia fans - despite misgivings that she wasn't best suited to this format. The first episode was so awful I haven't watched any others. I wonder how many others have done the same.

As others have said - who on earth thought the ideas in the first episode would work? This has been made by the team behind Graham Norton's show - they should know what's good better than the audience.

Choux · 30/03/2026 13:25

Yes But all the top choice ideas the Graham Norton show team has are being used in his own show. The Claudia show uses all the second rate ideas or those deemed not quite right for Graham’s show.

GellerYeller · 30/03/2026 16:23

I think the BBC needed a chat show between series of Graham Norton.
I was excited to see it would be Claudia as she’s warm, somewhat irreverent and a middle aged woman. Refreshing.
The dark set puts me in mind of serious academic discussions on late night BBC2, or Channel 4.
I wonder if she’d do better one on one, outside a studio setting, like an update on the Ruby Wax format from the 90s.
I imagine everyone’s so media trained these days they’ll only appear to plug their latest project. It’s a shame.

Stopsnowing · 01/04/2026 06:50

My faith has been somewhat restored after I went to the filming of the next show. I have no idea what will make the cut but Claudia was warm, witty and irreverent. The guests seemed to gel more than the first episode that I saw on TV although I still think a format that relies so heavily on effectively banter is risky and I wish she would ask some real questions. Graham Norton can pull it off but not sure anyone else can.

likelysuspect · 18/04/2026 22:02

Just caught up on the last show, episode 6, brilliant. I have loved all of the shows but this was the best, hiliarious.

TheFarriersDaughter · 19/04/2026 04:01

So is it safe to go back now? Should I try again with Ep 6?
