Highlander! I'd forgotten about that. One of those films that is completely terrible but completely brilliant at the same time.

I think the problem here is that they've left it really ill-defined what they mean by British film industry.

LaMarschallin · 04/03/2026 19:05

Scotland produces some great ingredients

PotterHead1985 · 04/03/2026 19:05

Agree. Its too wide of a brief.

Ooh brave forgot that one

Saw that as a student. Remember saying to my boyfriend "This music is amazing! It's like Queen!"
Well, duhh...

I'm sorry but the way Adele sings the song the lyrics go:

When da sky foallll
Make a crumbowlll
Make it appowlll

Should be a dessert.

So many options for a GBM kitchen farce…

😁

"The vicar's coming" said the cook, pouring mushroom/Gunpowder tea with her other hand...?

littlbrowndog · 04/03/2026 19:15

Nice cases

PotterHead1985 · 04/03/2026 19:16

The cases are cool, but you cant eat them. I agree once you take the food out it's just a normal restaurant dish. It loses all the brief for me

Yes potter. Agree.

EsmaCannonball · 04/03/2026 19:18

I love that the adjectives on this show are:

Restauranty = boo!
Banquetworthy = hooray!

Two words you never hear anywhere else.

If there was ever a civil war where people divided into MasterChef and Great British Menu fans you could probably identify MasterCheffian secret agents (pejoratively known as Speaking Cocks) by sticking a sole véronique in front of them and demanding, 'Review this dish in one word!.'

PotterHead1985 · 04/03/2026 19:19

Plus our conversations are spoken in a lot of code @EsmaCannonball

Hannahs looks very cool

Hmm, not sure if the people who do well on this show are ever humble. Confident, occasionally a bit cocky. Humble seems a bit defeatist.

littlbrowndog · 04/03/2026 19:22

That looks great

PotterHead1985 · 04/03/2026 19:22

That looks pretty too

EsmaCannonball · 04/03/2026 19:23

Orry is good but I'm not invested in anyone in this heat.

LaMarschallin · 04/03/2026 19:23

Banquetworthy!! 🤭

littlbrowndog · 04/03/2026 19:23

The drink is horrible

PotterHead1985 · 04/03/2026 19:24

Oh dear the goblet of stuff is oily. No one will like that, reminds of having to take spoons of cod liver oil

I just missed everything after the Bond one because of a work message 😬

littlbrowndog · 04/03/2026 19:25

Cucumber and lamb fat and whisky. Said no one ever

PotterHead1985 · 04/03/2026 19:25

I'd burst work if they did that to me.

As it is I'm gonna struggle to see tomorrows live as I've a poxy board meeting

He does not do puddings really in his restaurant. So he had better step up.
