2026 Celebrity Traitors - The Rumours

Is it too early for a Celeb Traitors 2 Thread?! Never, I say!

Thought I’d start a thread so we can share all the whispers, and wishes, for the Series 2 lineup.

Names I have heard so far, from the likely to the fanciful:

Bob Mortimer - was rumoured for S1 but apparently couldn’t make the schedule work
Tom Hiddleston - apparently a huge fan of the non-celeb version and appeared on Graham Norton alongside Claudia where he was dropping hints about how much he’d liked to be involved
Liam Gallagher - Scott Mills was saying he’d heard he’s a big fan

Others I’ve seen online:

Danny Dyer
Hugh Grant
Hugh Bonneville
Alison Hammond
Cheryl
Daisy May Cooper

Any others you’ve heard?

@MaySheWillStay So....... what is it, exactly, that your husband is going to be doing up there in such a remote place whilst this filming is going on that he's not interested in, whereby he can chat to the locals, and maybe even take a walk round the grounds of Ardross Castle?😁😂😎

Munro bagging - ie walking up mountains.

He has rest days which he spends visiting local places of interest, so I wouldn’t be asking him to do anything odd. 😉

It’s ideal if they do film in May, because that’s where he’ll be there.

And there was me thinking he was a professional chauffeur or a helicopter pilot!

I worry the same about R and R.
I think any set-up involving the two of them is predicable, IYSWIM; both traitors: alliance; both faithful: alliance; one of each: suspect each other or refuse to suspect each other.
In any case I think a lot of the others will suspect them both of being traitors, and then if they're seen to fall out/have words they'll instead suspect one of them is a traitor and the other suspects him...
In other words, it's an effective if rather cynical bit of casting, engineered to create drama and intrigue whichever way you slice it!

But if they are both faithful they can't form an alliance because they won't know if the other one is a traitor.

I meant in the sense that there's always at least one pair/group who say, 'I know I can trust you implicitly'. Sometimes it breaks down/they're proven wrong, sometimes not.

Oh yes, I see now. I can't see Jerry Hall lasting long, can you? Not that I know her at all apart from who she is, if you see what I mean.

Don't know actually. People might like her – she is kind of showbiz royalty. She might not take to the tasks. Then again I might be being unfair; I think of her as a glamourpuss, but maybe she's perfectly willing to roll up her sleeves!

I’d have better stories if he were one of those, but then he’d not be able to tell me any of them. Or, if he did I couldn’t tell you.

MaySheWillStay · 03/05/2026 19:07

OK, I can’t tell you the truth about why he’ll be there. Perhaps it’s too outing?
But he will.

Based on her performance on Strictly - which was many years ago - she only did the bare minimum required training hours and was booted in the second week!

Jerry Hall has lived with Rupert Murdoch and with Mick Jagger - she'll be able to tell a liar from 100 paces.

ItalianChineseIndianMexican · 03/05/2026 22:11

I'll definitely be watching this. The last series was so good!
This line-up does appear a bit comedian heavy and think it's missing a sports person or two.
Love Hannah Fry!

TRIE have a good conversation on the line up today.

They confirm that they are recording this week.

They also commented on the lack of sports people, though Richard said he heard a few people pulled out last minute so that might explain why.

It seems unnecessary to have 5 comedians in the line up. They all know each other well already and I think that could make the game as a whole less interesting. I don't particularly want to watch a group of people messing about with their mates in a castle and trying to be funny.

MaySheWillStay · 06/05/2026 17:09

God, five? (I hadn't added them all up).
They are just casting a net and hoping for another Alan Carr, aren't they?

Yeah but in series 1 there were four (Alan Carr, Lucy Beaumont, Nick Mohammed, Joe Wilkinson). And personally I didn’t watch I thinking it was noticeably a lot of comedians. I’m not sure one more would tip it over into being too many.

Maybe it's just seeing the number then. (I hadn't added up the series one comedians either!)
Is Nick Mohammed mostly known for being a comedian, or for acting and presenting and stuff as well? And to be honest, I would put Alan more in the general TV personality area, with his chat shows and everything.
Admittedly though, I don't know what exactly any of this bunch do, so maybe they have a wider remit than just being pure comedians as well.

Well I guess you can argue the toss on a few of them. The cast list for series 1 also calls Tameka Empson an “actress and comedian”, but I didn’t include her. She’d make 5 people listed as comedians for series 1. And you could make an argument for Stephen Fry, if you stretch it to include comedic actors. Alan Carr definitely does stand up tours.

But basically I don’t think it matters. I think it’s more about the individual personalities than what they do. The comedians who were in series 1 didn’t spend the whole time making jokes and doing funny bits. The comedians this series might be rubbish to watch, but if they are I’d say it’s down to them individually, not the fact they’re comedians.

I do think it would have been good to have some sports people though. I think some people with an almost guaranteed competitive nature are good.

No. I don't know how well any of them knew each other, but there is a bit of a chummy feel about this bunch, at least Rob and Romesh.
The sports people feels like a real glaring omission, I agree. Apart from anything else, they tend to be very good at the physical challenges, and often lead from the front and are inspiring.

MaySheWillStay · 17/05/2026 22:24

Well, DH is home from his stay near The Castle with no inside information at all. Apparently the contestants don’t sleep in the castle, but in a hotel near Inverness. My response to hearing that was, “I told you that before you went.”

The other thing, irrelevant really, is that you can have your wedding there but it will cost £40 000 plus catering.

Unfortunately the people he spoke to don’t watch the programme.
