Worth a look?

Yes, I enjoyed it. Quite slapstick in some places but fun and lighthearted with lots of music from 90/00's. Nice story about women supporting each other and having a laugh.

JBJ · 13/02/2026 14:34

Just started watching and enjoying it so far.

Crinkle77 · 15/02/2026 13:11

I've watched one episode but not feeling it. It's quite frantic and some of the acting a bit OTT and wooden. I'll give it one more episode I think.

Daytimetellyqueen · 15/02/2026 13:28

I’ve watched 3 episodes & loving it so far. It is slapstick, which isn’t normally my thing, but somehow this seems to pull it off.

Piglet89 · 15/02/2026 19:29

I am watching it now.

It is McGee’s difficult second album.

Goldenboysmum · 15/02/2026 19:31

I started it but really can't get into it at all.

I'll go back to it, sometimes that works, but at the moment I can't even get through episode 1

Dragonsbe · 15/02/2026 19:34

it’s really disappointing compared to Derry Girls…ott characters and accents (just so we’re clear where everyone is from), unsubtle and predictable humour. Just cringe

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 15/02/2026 21:29

Finished this today, I loved it! Im a big Derry Girls fan but this series did not disappoint.

I thought it was cleverly thought out and had a good balance of drama and humour.

anyonefancythetheatre · 15/02/2026 21:30

I watched it all. Didn’t love it didn’t hate it. But felt it was just all much the same as anything from here with the same old faces too. Do we not have anyone else?

EvangelineTheNightStar · 15/02/2026 21:35

Watching just now!

OhMehGoddess · 15/02/2026 22:35

We’re watching it and love it.

PinkSheepCries · 15/02/2026 23:11

I'm sure that I read somewhere that she wrote this before Derry girls.
I couldn't really get into Derry girls and this is only ok but I'll probably stick with it as it's only 6 episodes.

It’s 8 episodes. 2 more to watch. I don’t think it’s that good.

I heard a line in one of the episodes that I recalled from a Friends episode about waitress saying she was on the edge of her seat while they decided what to order (male waiter in Friends episode).

Could have been coincidental but recognised it as soon as I heard it.

Copperoliverbear · 15/02/2026 23:45

Watching in now only a few episodes to go, am enjoying it.

Middleagemoper · 16/02/2026 23:17

Don’t give up on this! I wasn’t feeling it the first episode - probably because I absolutely loved Derry Girls and this is not a
comedy, although it has some excellent comedic moments. I became totally hooked! Absolutely brilliant whodunnit/detective series! I’m so disappointed I’ve come to the end, but there is a hook for a future series 🙏🤞I loved seeing an assortment of Irish actors from Derry Girls. Lisa McGee is a seriously kick-ass writer! 💖

Fraudornot · 16/02/2026 23:19

I really like it - I think it got better (and funnier) as the episodes went on

violaolivia · 17/02/2026 06:19

It's watchable but nothing special imo. Not funny enough to be funny and not serious enough to be serious. Quite slow moving too. Shame, I absolutely love Derry Girls!

Els1e · 17/02/2026 07:04

I liked it. First couple of episodes I just found confusing and wanted to know what was going on. Glad I did stick with it.

Same, though it had the occasional funny moment. I found the overacting pretty grating.

Decisionsdecisions1 · 17/02/2026 08:21

I'm enjoying it. Of course its not as good as Derry Girls but 99% of tv shows aren't.

It's female led and I like the actors (have seen quite a few of them in other shows, eg The Dry which I really like).

Thisseasonsdiamante · 17/02/2026 08:22

Loved it. Loved that it was so different to Derry Girls. Loved the mystery premise. Loved some of the dialogue absolutely cried out loud at the gaslighting gag. Some really good sub plots. I loved it but it is just not Derry girls but had a great nod to it if you stuck with it.

NeverTeaTea · 17/02/2026 08:34

I gave up after 3 episodes. I didn’t find it funny and didn’t warm to the characters (other than Ardal O’Hanlon’s wacky b&b owner).

Shame, as I wanted to like it.

hididdlyho · 17/02/2026 08:48

I've got a couple of episodes left, but have enjoyed it so far, a bit better than Deceived. I find the mysteries and thrillers on Netflix very hit and miss (smh at the many Harlan Coben offerings).

ZenNudist · 17/02/2026 08:58

I really like it. It is a bit too much in parts but enjoying it. I can rewatch derry girls. Not sure I'd rewatch this. I like the saiorse character best buy the blond mum of 4 is brilliant too. Not liking Saiorse-monica thingy (from Derry girls) in it but only seen her first episode.

sundayvibeswig22 · 17/02/2026 09:12

I loved Derry Girls. The accents were at least true to the area. I found the accents in this series not relatable. Overaxaggered and not what Belfast people sound like. I gave up after the first episode.
