Max has enough money for a car lot but is living in a B&B instead of renting a flat. He was looking for a job a few weeks back so I assumed he was broke. Clearly not!

Lexi’s situation is ridiculous. She has multiple grand and great grand parents on the square and they have left her living with her former step-dad and his off/on again boyfriend without batting an eyelid. Surely IRL someone would be concerned for her welfare as she doesn’t even like Johnny and would likely be very uncomfortable with this man she doesn’t really know moving in. It all seems very unrealistic.

Had to really think about that @Eastie77Returns Phil and Cathy are bens parents so her grandparents but Lola called billy ‘pops’ but billy and Phil are cousins…. Surely Ben and Lola aren’t related? It’s only just dawned on me

Don't forget whilst Jay wasn't her biological father , he bought her up as he was married to her mum . Billy was a father figure to Jay so Lexi knows him as one of her grandfathers . Hence ' pops '.

@Eastie77Returns I thought Lexi got over her dislike of Johnny? I can't remember what happened but she seemed to be getting on with him okay. But I agree it is really out of order for him to move in, it didn't seem as if she'd even been asked, Johnny just had a manufactured row with Linda and turned up. Lexi's already going through enough with Nigel.

They aren't even trying to make sense of Max's finances, never a mention of where he gets his dosh.

Yes that's why Lola called him Pops.

Billy 66, Honey is 49. The difference in their ages really shows now.

It would make sense for Lexi to move in with Phil now, although he's still got a houseful with Julie, George and Sam. That house can't have more than four bedrooms.

I forgot Mark is living there too. Kojo made a fuss about moving back to his flat recently though so I guess he's gone. But still - where do they all sleep!

I know that you'd have to have loads of money to live there irl, but the people in the square have too much money imo

It would be good if there could be a storyline introducing some new council tenants moving in - the borough having bought some of the homes and converted them into flats

Could be a good way to keep the realism, if any producers are on the thread?

They regularly have those type of families in on the show, like the Millers and more recently the Taylors. And of course the Jacksons.

Unfortunately yes, Ben and Lola were indeed related and still had a child together😭 I cannot for the life of me work out their actual relation to each other and maybe it’s so distant it doesn’t really count. Ben’s dad is the cousin of Lola’s grandfather. So they are fifth cousins twice removed or something (just made that up😂)

@Shellingbynight the last I remember of Lexi and Johnny was her sending those emails and ruining his career. Did she ever apologise? Tim called her a brat who will only get worse and he was right. She is pandered to but also allowed to just do want she wants without proper supervision. Why was she allowed off school so she could help out with Nigel🙄 Ridiculous.

Kojo is meant to be moving back with Harry although they haven’t been seen in the flat.

EE cannot portray working class families realistically so I doubt a family living in a council flat would be shown accurately. Even the poorest families on the square seem to go the cafe, Vic, Bistro and the Albert on an almost daily basis. In reality prices in those places in the East End are very high and ordinary working families and/or living on benefits and a low income cannot afford to eat and drink out so often.

It was because of Lexi’s emails that Johnny lost all his work contacts and then asked Tim for investment.
I think ! She definitely managed to screw his business up, but considering we never see him do any lawyering at all , it’s another mystery of how he makes any money !

When Lexi sent the email Callum wheeled out the usual “she’s lost her mum, go easy on her” line.

The biggest mystery in all this is why Johnny just didn’t apply for a loan in the normal way. Instead of taking money from a random from his uni days who he hasn’t see in years and who was clearly dodgy. Tim couldn’t have looked more cartoonishly evil if he tried.

I’m sure Johnny could have got a loan too. Small business one maybe ? Tim is clearly loaded , he only wanted to invest because he fancied Callum I think?
Whole thing is silly , but the Tim kidnap stuff will bite max on the bum eventually I bet !!

No, that wasn't Lexi. That was entirely Johnny's own fault!

It's so unbelievable that Jay would just abandon Lexie.

Ravi is looking deranged now and why was E-laine visiting Nigel she hardly knew him.

Lexi previously sent an email to some of his contacts about him being a marriage wrecker. But that isn't what got him sacked. He was (rightly) sacked for trying to poach the company's clients. Johnny is a complete idiot. They have ruined his character.

Ahh! I had Lexi and Johnny’s dubious actions a bit mixed up there.

I’d like to see Lauren set herself up in business and build on that. For a moment today I thought Ian was going to help his daughter-in-law raise the funds, but no! So can Max lay his hands on clean funds to support her ambitions, or is he going to get into something he can’t get out of?

I think he's going to buy it himself and string her along pretending it's hers, and cut her out. He's selfish enough to do that.

Ian doesn’t help anyone does he! It was Max who paid the charity money back 3k before Christmas when Ian had ( sort of) promised Lauren he’d help out.

Maybe Max will turn against Lauren and that’s why she dobbs him in on NYD ! Although it’s only a guess and we are still months away from the end of the year of course !

The ‘ Walford gazette’ said they have plans to build more houses once ( George was reading it)
Might see some new faces soon. It would be good to see more normal folk , but maybe that is too boring for the writers ! Karen Taylor was the last working class woman around , but even she still went in the pub and the cafe. Max must have raided Phil’s safe when he was up the hospital with Nige! Everyone has a go at that lol
