Well what a treat was that! Some mistakes made but these dreary days have been elevated by those fabulous couples. Flipping fantastic!

I wonder if Donnie will recognise a Spanish dance done so elegantly skated on ice.

Happiest couple were the Canadians Thought the costume, chemistry, routine and music really gelled and might have beaten us even if we'd have skated clean

I preferred the Americans but a strong performance from France. Shame about great Britain I think the nerves understandably made an appearance. I think all the medal winners were more experienced? Sounded like at least 2 out of 3 was their last performances

Im slightly out of touch with the rules but do the women's ice skates need to be white? Thought Canada would look nicer in pale blue and America in black
Wondering if its easier for judging?

I loved the Canadian dance. I love that song anyway so I thought it all came together beautifully. I really didn’t like the Scottish routine I thought it was too try hard or something ( not that i know anything about ice skating). I definitely preferred the American routine to the French one.

I also preferred the American routine to that of the French which was just so dull. I liked the Scottish routine as it was lively but maybe too gimmicky for the Olympics, but what do I know!

Was thinking about the medal table (in the middle if the night) and so far we have ‘nil points’. We no medals for curling or skating, what other hopefuls do we have now, if any?

Looking back, we had two medals in 2022, with an expectation of 3-7 medals (according to Wikipedia), and the medal tally was considered ‘disappointing’. The previous two Olympics we got a high of five each, but preceding that, mostly 0-2 medals.

We’ve got both the men’s and women’s curling teams, and a couple of guys in the skeleton with medal chances.

And Matt Weston has just put in a fabulous run and set a new track record in the skeleton. Final two runs tomorrow evening.

The scoring has been released for last nights skating and apparently the French judge deemed that everyone else was worth scores in the 120s but the French couple were worth 137 . Most of the other judges had them within a couple of points either way .
