For anything Winter Olympic related.

I’m not sure I liked Mission impossible couple.

I'm flipping between the Curling(I love the Curling ) and the Ice dance.
I think the Czechia couple were dancing to the Matrix- but I didn't like them much either.

Shit it was the matrix wasn’t it. I knew it sounded wrong as I said it.

I love curling. But I also love ice dance. Will catch up with curling later.

I went down a You Tube Ice Dancing rabbit hole earlier- I was looking up Isabelle and Paul Duchesnay- who were very ahead of their time (and choreographed by Christopher Dean, who Isabelle was briefly married to).
I thought they were brilliant, but the judges never liked them.

I'm multi viewing- I have ive dancing on the tv, and curling via discovery on my lap top

And it makes me feel old, when I remember watching the parents of current skaters- like Anthony Ponomarenko!

Urghh dh and ds are using discovery to watch football. How inconsiderate!
So im stuck on bbc. Have just caught up the mens medals from figure skating although wish they didn't banner it " X beats Y to gold medal" !
I need to find luge relay!

The luge team relay is on tomorrow, but the pairs event started today.

I have not yet had a reply to my complaint about that. Lots of other seem to be complaining about it too. They did it during the Ashes too.

Shae-Lynn Bourne and Victoria Katz and Barbara Fusar-Poli are the earliest I think I remember.
Fusar-Poli is coaching the current Italians I think.

Skating is a bit like snooker for me, I remember it being huge in the late 70s/early 80s. Seemed to always be on the tv- and I could name everyone.

I am sure the decline in popularity (at least with terrestrial broadcasters) came when we stopped being any good at skating in the Uk- which is annoying. Not everyone has access to all the channels- I only have TNT by accident (and keep it for the tennis, mainly).

Discovery/TNT have a multi view. I can have 4 things at once. If I find my glasses. It’s a bit small on the iPad 😂

I take an out a periodic discovery+ subscription around major sporting events.

There was drama with the speed skating. A Chinese skater obstructed the Dutch skater at the crossing which cost him the bronze medal.

He had a re-race but not enough time to recover.

The race between gold and silver was great. Stolz USA won, Boo NL second.

This costume the Spanish skater is wearing seems a bit risky. Assume it’s well attached so bits Donny end up flying off or getting caught in her partners blades.

To my non technical eye, this Romeo & Juliette ice dance is very very good.

I didn't realise they're Team GB 🤦‍♀️.

I really liked it- and their short programme was really good, lots of fun. I hope they can build on it.
Unpopular opinion, but I prefer their style to Fear and Gibson (I think the speed of the music in the Spice Girls routine makes them look faster than they are. I find it a bit boring , really).

Same. None of the ice dancers seem to have surnames that are typical for the country they're representing.

Ha ha. Was just thinking that. We’ve had Olivia Smart the Spanish skater, Diana Davis the Georgian and am now watching Alison Reed the Lithuanian skater.
