Opening ceremony tonight, from 6.30pm on BBC2. Surprised it’s not on BBC1.

Oi. Stop taking the piss out of my minions. I’ve popped back but I’m bored.

the80sweregreat · 06/02/2026 22:00

Oh. Is this snoop dog?

Silverbirchleaf · 06/02/2026 22:01

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 06/02/2026 22:00

What do you mean?

Did they say they had volleyball players? I thought they’d have skiers or skaters?

The local performing arts school has its moment.

Oh. Is this snoop dog?

He’s at the curling isn’t he?

Didn’t the good Dr have to battle aliens called Ice Warriors once upon a time? Daleks on ice would be good, they have a low centre of gravity which would help because if they did fall over they would never be able to get up unless their sink plunger things could push them up somehow.

Well since we didn’t know they could manage stairs for decades after they first appeared, I think that’s a good shout.

We’ll probably find out that they’re also bullet proof, waterproof and immune to radioactivity.

Truly the intergalactic cockroach.

I was wondering about this. Volleyball is massive in Italy but not a winter olympics sport.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 06/02/2026 22:03

Maybe they could volley snowballs

FuzzyPuffling · 06/02/2026 22:03

Is that a dove of peace or an escaped manatee?

The local performing arts school has its moment.

I can't tell you how much better they are than Legs & Co.

13goingon31 · 06/02/2026 22:03

What was that shape meant to be of ?

EleanorReally · 06/02/2026 22:03

What was the picture they made?

BassinBas · 06/02/2026 22:03

Wow. These are just young kids. Amazing.

the80sweregreat · 06/02/2026 22:03

Charlize is looking gorgeous

viques · 06/02/2026 22:03

This dance is giving me squid games vibes, which I am pretty sure wasn’t the intention.

Oh, a dolphin, possible……

BassinBas · 06/02/2026 22:03

EleanorReally · 06/02/2026 22:03

What was the picture they made?

A dove I think

FurForksSake · 06/02/2026 22:04

It literally is the local performing arts school.

Prefer him to Pavarotti who I always thought was a bit spiky sounding.

We've taken a break to watch Astrid in Paris, come back and it’s still going. How come Bocelli's orchestra was a) too small, b) not miced up and c) the chorus was nowhere to be seen? We’re wondering whether he was miming tbh.

Miranda65 · 06/02/2026 22:04

A dove. They have stopped using live doves at opening ceremonies.

Sound of a door slamming as the Vances leave the stadium at that speech.

FuzzyPuffling · 06/02/2026 22:05

Charlize Theron does Nelson Mandela?

Im truly lost now. Bring the Daleks back.

FurForksSake · 06/02/2026 22:05

Only dead doves?

AnnaMagnani · 06/02/2026 22:05

Ah Bryan Ferry 😁

It literally is the local performing arts school.

Why not? We did the same in 2012. Most of the drummers/dancers were just londoners who signed up.
